Hi After Midnight. The file in question was deleted by you, saying it was deleted because it was unused through 7 days. However, it was uploaded properly with full permission, and it was used in this draft of mine. Could you please restore the image? Thankyou, TomUSA 02:42, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello TomUSA. Normally images that are non-free must be used in a current article, but there is a clear exception for "images uploaded for an upcoming article" so I am happy to restore the article for you. It is possible that someone else may tag it again for deletion before your draft gets moved into the main article space, but please let me know if you have difficulty and I will assist. --After Midnight 0001 02:46, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Champagne Village image

I see you deleted the file Champagne village.jpg under the criteria: "F5: Unused non-free media file for more than 7 days". I should point out that it WAS in use in an article - that of Champagne (wine)‎ and the use of the F5 criteria was, therefore, an erroneous basis on which to delete. - SchroCat (^@) 15:02, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I had a browser cut/paste error that cause me to mess up the deletion reason. It should have said "F4: Lack of licensing information" and I have corrected the deletion reason in the logs now. --After Midnight 0001 15:08, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
OK, thanks. - SchroCat (^@) 15:09, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
You're welcome and I apologize for the inconvenience. I am checking my deletion log for yesterday now to see if there are others that I need to correct so that if anyone stumbles upon them they won't see incorrect reasons. --After Midnight 0001 15:11, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Category deletion

Category:United States military transport aircraft 2010-2019 This wasn't quite orphaned at the time of deletion. Please restore. Marcus Qwertyus 04:28, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

I just checked the revision history. At the time of the deletion, the current revision was this and it was not in the category at that time. As you can see from this edit, it was added to the category about a week after it was deleted. Nonetheless, there is nothing wrong with recreating categories at any time if they were deleted solely per C1, so I'll restore it for you. --After Midnight 0001 11:15, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

File:Traffic Camera.png

Would you please consider undeleting this file as {{PD-ineligible}}? Magog the Ogre (talk) 04:55, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for the delay, but I was away for a few days.... This is an interesting question and I wish that had been part of the discussion before deletion. What opinion do you have regarding any Crown Copyright on this image as asserted by Sfan00 IMG? --After Midnight 0001 14:25, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

My opinion is that it is clearly {{PD-shape}} (cf. commons:Commons:Threshold of originality). Magog the Ogre (talk) 19:49, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Did you check out the link in the old discussion at Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2008_June_19#Multiple_images_uploaded_by_User:Stavros1_with_PD-self_or_GFDL_licensing ? I won't have the kind of time IO would need for that at least until tomorrow. --After Midnight 0001 20:33, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

No I didn't; but I've nominated far more complex images on Commons that were kept for PD-simple, PD-ineligible, etc. Magog the Ogre (talk) 22:49, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Fair enough. I'll restore it now and let you re-tag it as you feel best. If someone else has an issue with it, they can always start a new discussion. --After Midnight 0001 23:27, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. I've moved it to commons and given it some extensive documentation on the issue. Magog the Ogre (talk) 03:48, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

DEL REV

Hi After Midnight!

You recently said in a DEL REV on WP:BLPSIGN that an RFC or VPP needs to happen. Would you please be generous enough to start one coz I don't know the procedure, yet. Thanks. Regards, Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 12:25, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello. May I suggest that you check oput the instructions at Wikipedia:Rfc#Request_comment_through_talk_pages and give that a try? If it doesn't work or you still feel you need help, I will be happy to oblige. --After Midnight 0001 15:11, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Do I post it here? Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 15:51, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that should work. --After Midnight 0001 15:55, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Should I name it as "RfC on BLPSIGN as official policy"? Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 16:10, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
I think that should be fine. You just want to be clear that you are looking for the RFC to #1) gain consensus regarding what BLPSIGN should say and then #) also to decide if it should be official policy. --After Midnight 0001 17:18, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

While it was deleted early only by a few hours, don't you think it's fair to give uploaders the whole seven days promised by the deletion tag to correct their mistakes? :P -FASTILY (TALK) 02:01, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

He he. In all seriousness though, all of the files I deleted had been tagged a full 7 days before they were deleted, because if a file is tagged at 1PM on the 10th and I delete it at 9PM on the 17th, it received 7 days and an "extra" 8 hours. :-) --After Midnight 0001 02:19, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
So...you checked file's history before deleting? Huh, that's a lot of work... Also, quoted from a no-source tag on File:TiryakiHasanPasa.jpg: "Unless the copyright and licensing status is provided, the image will be deleted after Wednesday, 17 August 2011." I'm not going to raise a fuss over it, but for what it's worth, there's a reason daily deletion categories only become backlogs at 00:00 UTC. Best, FASTILY (TALK) 03:40, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Fair enough, but don't you also check the file history before deleting each file? How else do you avoid deleting files which were tagged in error with the wrong date. Whether vandalism or error, this can and does happen and checking the history I think is the only way to tell. Just yesterday, I had to change the date on 2 files which were being tagged incorrectly to be deleted the same day, and then I had to revert an IP who tried to change them back again. Also, on occasion, someone will blank a licensing claim and then tag a file for deletion for having no tag, rather than going to PUF or tagging as NPD or going to some other appropriate forum. I don't know any method other than checking history to discover these kinds of these things, so I am happy to hear if you have other ways to do this. --After Midnight 0001 11:30, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

File:Ubisoft logo.svg

Hi there,

could you revert the deletion of the above-mentioned file. It's an SVG replacement of en:File:Ubisoft.png --Trex2001 (talk) 07:12, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi. File:Ubisoft logo.svg was deleted because it was orphaned. Is it your intent that this file replace the png version in the article and then nominate the other for deletion? --After Midnight 0001 10:37, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
thats exactly the plan--Trex2001 (talk) 10:44, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
OK, restoring it now. --After Midnight 0001 11:19, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
thanks, i placed Template:Vector version available on the PNG and replaced the logo in the article--Trex2001 (talk) 12:07, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Image:Monkeyjoe2.jpg

You speedied this as a G8 on the 18th, saying it was dependent on a talkpage or deleted page, but it was in current use on Squirrel Girl and no notice was given there. Could you please restore it so that I can check the FUR and make sure it's correct? It was most likely a case of a redirect from a separate article, but since I'm not an admin, I can't check the history to see if that was the cause. Thanks! rdfox 76 (talk) 23:54, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I actually deleted the talk page File talk:Monkeyjoe2.jpg for G8 log. The image, File:Monkeyjoe2.jpg was deleted for F6 log for not having any rationale. At any rate, if you promise to post a rationale to the image, I will be happy to restore it so you can do that, just let me know. --After Midnight 0001 01:36, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Ah, OK, misread the log there. (I was just running a search for "Monkeyjoe" and that was the first hit in the log, and I'd just gotten back up, so I was a bit bleary-eyed still.) Yeah, I'll do up a rationale; it may be missing a couple of details for a day or two, but it'll be at least 90% complete. (I recently lost my copy of the book it came from, so I'll need to do a bit of digging to get issue number and page number, but beyond that, I should be able to get a full FUR banged out quick enough once I see it's there again.) Thanks, I was just a bit surprised when there wasn't a warning it was up for speedy. rdfox 76 (talk) 02:14, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
I'll restore it now. Sorry if whoever tagged it failed to place a warning notice on the page where it was being used. --After Midnight 0001 03:04, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll get right to work on the FUR. rdfox 76 (talk) 12:47, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Done. Think that FUR covers everything needed. rdfox 76 (talk) 13:12, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Scrubs infobox photos

Hi, After Midnight,

I'm hoping this is the right place to ask this. There was a minor content dispute about the need for individual character pages for the American sit-com "Scrubs". In the process, several non-free images were deleted because they were orphaned (due to a now reverted page-merges), and I noticed you were the Admin that deleted them. I was hoping these images could be un-deleted, for minimal disruption to the articles or at least that the non-free fair-use rationals and source information be retrieved. The following are the affected images:

  • File:Jd season9.jpg
  • File:Turk-season9.jpg
  • File:Turk-season9.jpg
  • File:Carla-scrubs.jpg
  • File:Cox-season9.jpg
  • File:Kelso-scrubs.jpg

If this is the wrong area, could you clue me in as to where I should look? Thank you! --Zfish118 (talk) 05:31, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

I have restored the 5 files per your request. I noticed that you listed one of them twice, so if you meant to include another file, please let me know. Also, please note that you'll need to make sure that they are no longer orphaned or someone else will likely tag them again for deletion. --After Midnight 0001 20:42, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Thank-you! I checked, and thus far, each image is in use. Also, thanks for noticing the duplicate listing - turns out I overlooked File:Elliot-scrubs.jpg. Take care :) --Zfish118 (talk) 14:49, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
I have restored this additional file. --After Midnight 0001 14:57, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of Msnexplorer.jpg

You recently deleted my file Msnexplorer.jpg. It has been on Wikipedia for years, and you did not give me very much notice to correct the "problem." Please restore it. J.A. Hurley (talk) 21:20, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

I can not identify or locate the file which you are referring to. Could you please provide a link to the file or to an article where it was recently used? --After Midnight 0001 20:44, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of the Webster Anderson picture

I just noticed that the Webster Anderson picture was deleted from several articles due to lacking information. Can you undelete that so I can try and fix the licensing? I think this picture came from the National Archives. --Kumioko (talk) 20:49, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Done, assuming you are referring to File:WebsterAnderson02020001.jpg --After Midnight 0001 21:06, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah thats the one thanks. I'm looking for it now. --Kumioko (talk) 21:25, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Ok sorry I can't find it anywhere. I'm sure that was a pic done by the military service but I can't find it (partly because the Google Unclesam search option got the axe). Thanks for giving me a chance to try and fix it though. --Kumioko (talk) 22:17, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
OK, I'll re-delete. If something turns up later, let me know and I will be happy to restore it again. --After Midnight 0001 23:22, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Discordianism vandalized again

It seems nobody notices that article at all. I suppose you can take the apin to restore it to an older version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.200.83.250 (talk) 14:47, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

David M. Harper -- image deletion

Good morning, regarding the following note that you gave:

19:12, 29 August 2011 After Midnight (talk · contribs) deleted "File:CNNtv1993Aug24.jpg" (Deleted because "F4: Lack of licensing information". using TW)

I feel that I put very extensive notes and followed the template requested to show all the copyright and image information, prior to deletion. Can you please specify which line item was missing and/or not strong enough, and for future reference, HOW can this image be used, since the owner took the image himself?
I look forward to your clarification, as I hope to either re-upload the same image, or make sure that a replacement image is not deleted.
Thank you,
Jenstew2012 (talk) 13:51, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

I just looked back and reviewed your notes on the file and it appears that you included an extensive Non-Free Usage Rationale. What is missing is an actual copyright tag, such as {{Non-free television screenshot}}. I will restore the image and place that one on there, since it seems to be most applicable. If you feel that it should be different, please let me know or feel free to just modify it. --After Midnight 0001 14:05, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

AN discussion

Erm, excuse me. Are you saying that this was offensive? --Elen of the Roads (talk) 22:26, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

No, I was not saying that your post was offensive. The overall tone of the conversation however felt like it was headed in the wrong direction and I felt it best to end things before lines were crossed, especially since it seemed that there was nothing else to be added. --After Midnight 0001 23:12, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Fairy snuff. I can see the potential for that. And there really was no more to be said. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 01:54, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

I have resubmitted this photograph, with the following description: {{OTRS pending}} I will email the original request and confirmation answer with images and links and the related wikipedia article to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org following uploading pictures and will add the OTRS ticket number when received… I assume this will be emailed to me. Per Mr. Miller’s response, I believe these images do qualify for for uploading under the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License. Diegosf (talk) 20:05, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Please can you reinstate the images that you removed from the Little Chef Wikipedia page [1] I think that I need to add the tag {{Non-free promotional}} to them, but I am a Wikipedia novice, so please bear with me. Pcarrollufi (talk) 09:37, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

I have restored both files and removed the deletion tags for now. You will likely also need to add non-free usage rationales to each, in addition to the proper copyright tags. --After Midnight 0001 10:23, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of File:Kismat 1968 Vinyl Record Front.JPG & File:Kismat 1968 Vinyl Record Back.JPG

Hi After Midnight, I have noticed that you have deleted the following files:

  • File:Kismat 1968 Vinyl Record Front.JPG
  • File:Kismat 1968 Vinyl Record Back.JPG

And the reason you have given is: Deleted because "F5: Unused non-free media file for more than 7 days".

I would like to bring to your notice that it was being used in an userspace draft article: User:Shadow7777/Kismat (1968 film) till 13th Sep 2011. On 13th Sep 2011, I moved the userdraft article to a mainspace article. It was being used in this article: Kismat (1968 film). Could you now restore it so that I can re-use in that article?

Thanks, Shadow7777 (talk) 17:52, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Done. --After Midnight 0001 18:17, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Restoration of NFSHP2-copchase1.jpg

Would it be possible to restore this file? I wasn't aware that someone did not provide a FUR. I can do that quickly and easily. Thanks! --Teancum (talk) 17:36, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi. The file has been restored and you have 7 more days to give it a rationale. --After Midnight 0001 18:06, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of File:Chittenden Photo 5 LR.jpg

This file was deleted to copyright issues on August9. I put this issue aside while I got the article ready. The article on Alice Brown Chittenden has been published on Wikipedia, so I would now like to add this photo.

This photo is owned by the family and we are willing to decare it to be Public Domain or to create a license for it. I have been advised to "tag the photo with this text {{PD-author}}". Is this sufficient or should I do something else. Will you restore the file or should I upload it again? Thanks for your help. Blarrib (talk) 18:59, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

I have restored the file and added 7 days back onto it before it gets deleted so you have time to resolve the issue. Regarding your plan to declare it PD, I would suggest that you contact WP:OTRS and seek their help/advise to determine if that will be acceptable. --After Midnight 0001 19:32, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Deletion of File:USEnergyConsumption.png

Hello, it appears I neglected to add the relevant licensing info to an image I uploaded last month. The image referenced is based on data provided by the EIA (www.eia.gov), and the chart itself was created by me. As such, the licensing should be ok. Please let me know if you require further information, and how to replace this image. Thanks

Hello, my apologies, I do not log in very frequently, but noticed that the file was restored and deleted again. I naively assumed that leaving the livensinc information on your talk was sufficient - if you could restore it one more time I will be sure to check in within the next few days to add licensing information. Thanks

Deletion of File:University of Lahore.jpg

Hi. You should be able to do what you need by following the instructions from Wikipedia:Uploading images. --After Midnight 0001 12:34, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi After Midnight. As a fellow fileworker myself, I have allot of respect for the work you do here, but if I could raise one relatively minor issue; apologies to drag you back a half a year, but could you please restore the file/review your closure of Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files/2011 April 22#File:Yellow and Red present.gif. I feel the closure was a bit premature as it was contested and had no responding comments to the keep !vote, nor were any comments made in closure. Thanks, Acather96 (talk) 19:39, 21 October 2011 (UTC)

Hello, Acather96. I think that it would be better to work this through WP:OTRS. I think they are better equipped to handle such matters. --After Midnight 0001 11:09, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
