The message below from Triesault is a response to a warning I left at User talk:Triesault: You are violating the three-revert rule on several articles.

(Response to your post on my talk page) How exactly should I respond to something like this in the future? I see a user make a huge number of unnecessary that are uncalled for and they need to be revered. I left a message on his user page but instead of responding he went back and revered all my changes. With such a large number of edits whats the best way to physically undo them? Is this a feature that only an admin would have? --Triesault (talk) 15:30, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

This edit. I had removed the content with this explanation:

  • (removed content not directly supported by cited source; if the actual correct quote is inserted, it should also contain the context)

You then re-inserted the contested content without addressing my concerns, stating only:

  • (There is actual video proof. That's why I reverted myself after I reverted DLL.)

I have reviewed the video, just to be sure. Perhaps you could indicate the exact (minute and second mark) in the video that supports this statement: "In February 2010, he referred to Sarah Palin as a "special needs" "[bitch]". I still don't see it. You do realize that link is to a stand-up comedy routine, right? Why do you misleadingly insert content that says Lopez "referred" to anyone as anything without noting that it was actually the punch-line to a joke? I did hear Lopez say, "La Cabrona". I also heard Lopez say, "Sarah Palin said that it is wrong for President Obama's advisor Rahm Emmanuel to use the word "retarded", but it's alright for Rush Limbaugh. When someone becomes irrational like that, complaining, not making any sense, it means only one thing: they're special needs." But I still haven't seen Lopez refer to Palin as a "special needs" "[bitch]". I also see no justification, per WP:WEIGHT, why that was inserted into the article at all. Perhaps you could explain? Thanks. Xenophrenic (talk) 18:17, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

At 00:08. "Special needs" is most likely a way to put it nicely. - Amaury (talk) 18:22, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
As editors, we don't "put things nicely". I checked 00:08, and I still don't hear the content there that you inserted. I also still do not see the context of the information you wish to add. We put things accurately. I also note now that you have made 3 reverts and a self-revert to that article within a 24-hour period. Please do not edit-war on a WP:BLP. BLP policy states that when contentious and inaccurate information is disputed, the burden is upon the inserting editor to justify the content. Please address all concerns expressed above before re-inserting a more accurate version of that content. Regards, Xenophrenic (talk) 18:26, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Xenophrenic is asking me to revert on my talkpage. I told him no there as per my comments on his talkpage. We need to avoid a 3RR situation. Morenooso (talk) 18:43, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

i understand unreferenced info is not ok, but you do realize, just because someone adds info without a source, it doesnt mean it has to be removed. i'm simply saying that the entire article is unsourced, it could be AFD for deletion. so that's why i left it in, to be preserved so more information can be found later. you do know what WP:PRESERVE says to right? Also, about the character section, please do not remove it from the main article until the characters article has substantial information enough to fork out from the main article. Also look at WP:CFORK. at the moment, there is no sources for the article, i'm currently keeping it preserved to see when info will be added. but it's been a while and it's been at the same state. Actually, User:Tryntius was right. Snopes confirms it. Mr. Ed was a zebra. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neutralhomer (talkcontribs) 03:42, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

You are right, you didn't, I apologize. - NeutralHomerTalk • 03:48, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
It's not your fault. Tryntius is the one that posted here (I reverted Tryn, of course), so it made you think I had something to do with it. Anyway, apology accepted! - Amaury (talk) 03:51, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I don't agree with your reversion of my edit to SETI. Perhaps there has been a misunderstanding. I am re-reverting and opening a discussion on the talk page for SETI. --75.83.69.196 (talk) 16:46, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure I see how the IPs edits would be considered vandalism. Please reconsider your use of revert. --OnoremDil 03:20, 5 April 2010 (UTC)

The message below from 64.223.101.244 is a response to a warning I left at User talk:64.223.101.244: April 2010

I would like to know: How was that vandalism, I just left a fair and honest question on ROTTT's talk page, Isn't that what talk pages are for? Otherwise how am i supposed to respond to comments left on my talkpage? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.223.101.244 (talk) 01:25, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Oh, and please don't Insult my intelligence by tagging this as vandalism, and then blocking me and then removing the thread from your talk page. That would be dishonest and a violation of Wikipedia policy. I have honest questions and I deserve honest answers, for the sake of fair and equitable diplomacy if nothing else... 64.223.101.244 (talk) 01:30, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

This is not vandalism. I removed the sentence and saved it on her bio, which was where the information belonged and is more pertinent fyi. 174.3.123.220 (talk) 06:30, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

I agree. Please be more careful with vandalism warnings. Earlypsychosis (talk) 07:44, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. Your own lead says, "I won't bite!" While I agree that two of the edits were probably not helpful, I'm willing to give the User the benefit of the doubt that they were well intentioned. The edits don't have the feeling a vandal work.
  • Stanley Williams -- the edit was true, although probably overkill for an {{about}}.
  • Mother Love -- the edit made it more compact, arguably better, although it would not be my choice
  • Little Black Sambo -- I could easily have made this edit myself -- the lead sentence runs on -- and this article is about the book, not the author, that's what links are for. I would have then added Bannerman's background in the second paragraph rather than having it in the lead.

I feel terrible. No one ever sent me an edit message before. I did not realize I was violating a rule. My sincere apologies. I will try and do better in the future. There are a lot of rules and guidelines. The Star of the Republic Museum at Washington on the Brazos asked me to help gather descendants of signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence for the 175th anniversary next year. I will go back and remove the offending links to the blog article about it. Now that I have you, could you tell me what the procedure for adding a photo to a Wikipedia page is? I have been researching an early settlement in Mexican Texas and the Republic of Texas for over ten years known as the Lake Creek Settlement. I am drafting a page for Wikipedia and would like to add a scan of a document referring to the Lake Creek Settlement to the article. Any help would be appreciated. Hi. I am not sure about your last message re vandalising Wikipedia. Could you please let me know what is the current issue with Ocean Strategy page, which I have created? Many Thanks Mtarasiuk (talk) 16:30, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Dear Zhang, I noticed that IP 69.7.190.120 tried to delete Brian Gavin's wikipedia page, just some background... you can check but this IP belongs to Xvand Corporation, a company that is owned by Victor Grinshtein, the husband of Debi Wexler who cofounded Whiteflash together with Brian. SInce Brian left WHiteflash, they have been very malicious and have tried to erase any history of his expertise on the internet. I ask you to please block this IP and disregard any edits that this IP or WFdiamonds does to this page. Please revert this page back to 4 July 2009, before 69.7.190.120 tried to erase the truth about Brian Gavin. Regards! 69.154.185.158 (talk) 04:42, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Zhang, they have done it again, erased information that is TRUE and not harmful in any way. Can you please revert the changes and somehow block this IP. Thanks 69.154.185.158 (talk) 21:05, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Also you can see immediately after they erase if from Brian Gavin.. they go and paste the information on their own site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debra_Wexler ... a sloppy job I must say as they forget to remove Gavin lol.. they also go into http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hearts_and_arrows and add that they were the first to sell H&A online in 1999... something that was deleted by a Monitor in 2009. I can show proof from waybackmachine that Brian developed and sold Hearts and Arrows online way before Whiteflash. In addition there is a reference that clearly shows he designed Dreams of Africa. Is there anyway to get a bar on 69.7.190.120 for trying to destroy and manipulate the truth? 69.154.185.158 (talk) 21:17, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I am actively trying to get this user (a sock of JourneyManTraveler) blocked for not resending a legal threats and his talk page protected. I appreciate the removal of that from my talk page. - NeutralHomerTalk • 23:12, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

As it is sir, this user has harassed me and attacked me for my recreation of a template that was in fact deleted. Neutralhomer has never been diplomatic with me. The indefinite block of my friend JourneyManTraveler is unjustified. But no matter. He's retired from Wikipedia, and so am I. Neither of us plan to come back. Neither of us has been treated that rightly here. I think we'll join another wiki, perhaps Citizendium or a cousin project where at least SOME discipline is enforced and quality is excellent. I may even work with wikis focusing on subjects of my interest, like Judgepedia. Farewell sir, I can't say it's been a good run. But no ill will with you at least. I am planning however on possibly filing arbitration against Neutralhomer. He needs to know he can't boss people around. 68.236.155.129 (talk) 23:28, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm not getting into this fight. You guys need to discuss your problems and find a resolution. - Amaury (talk) 23:34, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Not keeping anything going, just making you, Zhang, aware of an ANI thread about this above user. The thread can be viewed here. Again, just a friendly note. - NeutralHomerTalk • 23:41, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
I'd like it if you'd send me the link to the Arbitration page to help me begin an arbitration procedure. I wish to initiate one based on the ANI filed on me by Neutralhomer. I'd like an order commanding him to withdraw the ANI. 68.236.155.129 (talk) 23:43, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Just to let you know, the IP user was blocked for 2 weeks for personal attacks and vandalism. So you can mark this resolved. Thanks for your help and Have a Good Day. - NeutralHomerTalk • 00:44, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

You recently reverted the blanking of Bob Salpeter which was done by the article's author, and placed a warning on his talk page about the issue. Generally when a new article by a new editor gets tagged for deletion for various reasons, and the original author blanks the page, this is taken as a good faith request to have the offending article deleted, and the blank page is replaced with {{db-author}}. Is there a particular reason you didn't follow this path for this page? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:18, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Your new username

I saw the change go through earlier today on CHU. Also, is there any reason why the sections on your talk page are all subheaders? Soap 23:21, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm reverting your edit because I can't see any changes of value in it. You're altering minor spellings like "role-playing" to "roleplaying", even though the former spelling is what's used in all the other role-playing articles. Not only do your trivial spelling changes make the spelling inconsistent with common usage, but in the process you're actually breaking links to articles. And when reverted, you have then reintroduced the broken links again, even though you've been informed of the problem, all the while complaining about being reverted! Less attitude about being reverted and more careful editing, please. Ryan Paddy (talk) 10:03, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

User renaming

The message below from Avraham is a response to a message I left at User talk:Avraham: Concern.

When dealing with tens of thousands of edits, it can take weeks, as the renaming is done during slow server cycles. There have been cases where the re-attribution never fully completed, but recently I don't know of cases where it did not complete after 2 to 4 weeks. -- Avi (talk) 05:03, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
