I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election have been undone because they did not appear constructive. Abuse of subdivision

[edit]

The use of the subdivision fields of the infobox to list major urban agglomerations in Bengal is unconventional. Featured articles that use infobox settlement (for example, Canada, Germany, India, and Japan) don't misuse the field that way. Arguably the list should be removed entirely. If it is kept at all, it is silly to list Agartala, Kharagpur, and Silchar, which are respectively the 11th, 21st, and 29th largest in the region as of the 2011 censuses (at least according to Wikipedia).

So I've undone your edits to Bengal. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:12, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. I noticed that you recently removed content from Agartala without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.-- Toddy1 (talk) 18:05, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! -- Toddy1 (talk) 18:05, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Agartala, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. The information you removed is supported by the cited source.-- Toddy1 (talk) 03:59, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
