Hello BaileighD. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:BaileighD. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=BaileighD|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. bonadea contributions talk 17:08, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits[edit]

Information icon Hi BaileighD! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Adding new information, or adding sources to an article shouldd never be marked as a minor edit. Alex (talk) 17:19, 14 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ofra Cosmetics moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Ofra Cosmetics, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. The draft also reads like an advertisement, which is not acceptable. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. bonadea contributions talk 17:03, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I’ve actually worked with 2 live editors who went through sentence by sentence to help me write it, so I’m not sure how it reads as an advertisement? Especially considering there is a reliable 3rd party new source that paints the company in an extremely negative light. Not only do I have that source, but I also have 2 scholarly articles, one was published in Taiwan about their business model and the other was published by a PhD who is a department head of a business college who did and in-depth analysis of their rebrand and choice to put their products in ULTA. Additionally, there’s a news article that discusses in depth the beginning of the company as well as the founders background. Along with all of those sources, there are more independent reliable sources that talk about the companies collaborations, charity efforts, and cruelty free platform. Plus, like I said I worked with 2 live editors who greatly refined this article for me, so I’m not sure how I met their standards and not yours. Please advise. Thanks. I don’t know how it’s promotional by simply stating that have collaborated with influencers as part of their business models. Many other pages on here talk about collaborations with influencers and celebrities. Additionally, I have 2 sources that talk about the political stuff the company has been involved in, so I’m still confused about what you’re talking about. Since I have worked with other Wikipedia live reviewers to structure this page, I'm not sure how else to change the tone. Can you please give me some specifics? Your submission at Articles for creation: Ofra Cosmetics (July 26)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Nightenbelle was: This submission is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: This is the 5th time the article has been submitted as a promotional piece, author has not fixed the problems, and is resubmitting too quickly without substantial fixes, thus- author is here solely for promotional purposes, not to build an encyclopedia and is wasting the time and resources of reviewers which should be spent on editors who are trying to improve this encyclopedia, not just promote a company.
Nightenbelle (talk) 18:14, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have stated repeatedly that you have worked with "live editors". Where? There is no discussion on your talk page or on the article talk page? I reviewed the other article you created- it too is blantantly promotional. I don't know whether you are being paid or just not understanding the difference between a fan page and an encyclopedia article, but I strongly recomend you spend some time reviewing the WP:MOS and other WP articles to see what WP:NPOV means before you try again. Nightenbelle (talk) 18:22, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I used this link with the Live help https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IRC_help_disclaimer

And I did go in and make changes each time I submitted. I changed wording, removed sources, and added really good sources. This is not promotional; I simply want to add information to Wikipedia about animal rights organizations and cruelty free brands. I’ve asked for specific feedback where I have been promotional, but have not gotten any feedback other than “you’re being promotional,” which I’m not trying to be. Especially since, like I said, I had 2 different people on the “live help” assist me with my tone and sources. So please advise with specific examples I can improve. BaileighD (talk) 18:49, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

THis is promotional. Each rejection has given you links in the rejection of articles to read- you have not done so. You want someone to fix it for you, but you need to do the work, read WP:NPOV WP:COI WP:NOT and all the other policies and WP:MOS before you create another article. The live help may have fixed one or two sentences- but the entire article is filled with phrases that belong on the company website or in a PR release- you need to edit out all the fluff- all the things that are just there because it sounds good but is not actually interest to people who have never heard of the company and just want a quick "who the heck is this" from us. You don't need to sell how great this company is- you need to just describe the facts and important bits. Basically you need to stop being a fan trying to get information out there and become a reporter trying to convey just facts. But seriously- every single time the article has been turned down there have been multiple links to articles you should read. It is your responsibility to read those, not our responsibility to copy and past the info in those articles to your talk page or go through and list every one of the dozens (and there are DOZENS) of weasle words and promotional phrases and list them for you. You need to change more than 1 or 2 words- you need to re-write almost the entire article. AND- you need to add a criticism / controversy section- because this company has had negative attention and you are ignoring it, which adds to the theory that you are a paid contributor for them. A tag has been placed on Crescent City (book series) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
