I did add more information to the desk, though I don't know if it's of a type that's helpful to you. You should look again to check. Assuming that doesn't help, I have a question. Did you listen to the whole track before concluding it was blank, or just the beginning? I ask because if you clicked record first and then waited to play the song in itunes, there might be an empty space in the beginning of the song.

P.S. Glad you got an account. Stay busy on Wikipedia. Superm401 | Talk 01:11, August 6, 2005 (UTC)

Machiavelli[edit]

If you liked Wikipedia:Reference_desk/Humanities#Machiavelli_vs._Divine_Right.3F, you might be interested in what the user posted in response. Guess the suggestion of him actually doing work didn't go over too well. Superm401 | Talk 03:38, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia:List of drug-free Wikipedians[edit]

Please see Wikipedia talk:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:List of drug-free Wikipedians. I'm curious what your reasoning was on closing this Afd the way you did. Friday (talk) 03:56, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I misread the diff and left the message for the wrong user. Friday (talk) 03:59, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

"old fogie" out of practice as a student[edit]

At your convenience please look at my 2 pictures effort where I have been unsuccessfully trying to reverse engineer what should not be rocket science. Seems to me, you are one of the user box graphic design gurus and can point me to appropriate how-to links. Thanks in advance. User:AlMac|(talk) 03:07, 25 December 2005 (UTC)

List of drug taking Wikipedians[edit]

Hi Ballchef,

This was obviously a joke in response to Wikipedia:List of drug-free Wikipedians. Since the latter has now been deleted, and since obviously no one pays any more attention to the project page (I left a message on the talk page a few days ago), can I just delete it without having to go through a whole vote?

Thanks, — Asbestos | Talk (RFC) 14:19, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Red Bong-(mod).jpg[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Red Bong-(mod).jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -- Longhair 05:59, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. I'd assume photographing one wouldn't be too difficult for most people editing the page :) -- Longhair 00:59, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
I've changed the licence information on Image:Red Bong-(mod).jpg to GDFL presumed. Feel free to choose another licence if my labelling is incorrect. -- Longhair 01:03, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Pool[edit]

Saw an old comment of yours about kelly pool lamenting that the article didn't exist and thinking about making it. Someone beat you to it, but if you are still interested on working on pool/billiards-related articles, please join WP:CUE! We're getting pretty well-organized for such a small crew already. — SMcCandlish [talk] [contrib] 03:49, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Red_Bong-(mod).jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Red_Bong-(mod).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MER-C 03:54, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Invitation[edit]

There is a backstage pass coming up to be followed by an editathon in the State Library of New South Wales on 23 November. This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us. Please sign up on the editathon project page if you can participate either online or in person with other Wikipedians. Hope to see you there! Lankiveil (speak to me) 07:12, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
