Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bobatwailingwall.jpg)

However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Yeshiva

Please review WP:V, WP:OR, and WP:NPOV. I too spent decades in yeshiva and kollel and I understand, if not share, your perspective. However, the wikipedia rules and guidelines need to be followed, otherwise everyone will strat adding unreferenced information, both positive and negative, and the entire project will suffer. Hi, I have noticed that you have changed the name of the city in the article Beersheba to Beer-Sheva. Please review Talk:Beersheba and WP:CON, WP:COMMONNAME and WP:ENGLISH before making any more such changes. Also, it is considered bad form to make an edit simply to change a word from American to English spelling (or vice versa), like you did in Neve Tzedek, unless there's a specific reason to, which you should state in your edit summary. If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or

Hi Kelly. If I recall correctly I stated that the photo is owned by my mother who inherited it from her mother! My mother gave me full permission to use this photo in a wikipedia article on Gateshead. It is my grandmother in the photo! There is to my knowledge any impediment in the copyright. You haven't replied on the polyphenol page and maybe have stopped watching it. You had written that " My understanding of WP:MEDRS is that identified, reliable sources from reputable, scientific journals are acceptable" and I had replied that this is not correct - that "All content in Wikipedia is meant to be from reliable secondary sources. Not primary sources. The source you relied on is a primary source; under MEDRS the gold standard secondary source is something on par with a Cochrane review. A single clinical study should not be used at all in Wikipedia, and that is what you have done. IF it is used at all, it should be used very cautiously, sticking very close to what the source itself says, and content should be minimal so as not to place too much weight on it. ....You cannot use a single primary study to contest a recent-enough secondary source." I do hope you keep editing, and that you do it in compliance with WP:PSTS and WP:MEDRS. It took me probably a year to figure out what MEDRS and indeed PSTS calls us to - we base content on what experts in the field say in 2ndary sources, when they describe and determine the relative importance of primary studies, so as to avoid OR and SYN. One of the troubles with wikipedia is the enormous amount of gobbledegook involved. You really exemplify this superbly. On my talk page I have a strict rule: PEPAAT. (Oh sorry that is: plain English please at all times.) You are in clear violation of this rule. Notwithstanding I do understand what you are saying. Sorry about that - I made an effort to speak in plain language. However I realize that "OR" and "SYN" are jargony. "OR" refers to original research and "SYN" refers to synthesis which is a form of original research. Wikipedia editors cannot bring original research to Wikipedia directly. While Wikipedia is indeed "an encyclopedia that anyone can edit," competence in subject matter and in applying guidelines and policies does matter; we are out to create a high quality encyclopedia. Sourcing policies are fundamental to what we do; they are not "gobbledegook." I really meant what I said at the end there - I do hope you are able to get firmly planted on Wikipedia's sourcing requirements - which are important for all articles, not just scientific and medical ones - and I do hope you continue working here! We always need more editors. Working here in a sustained way does involve working with others and dealing with policies/guidelines, both of which can be hard, and both of which mean that you will not always get your way. A tip on photos

I'm no photographer, but due to knowing some rather enthusiastic shutter bugs, I've learned a few details, and there is one tip I'd think I'd share with you, concerning a picture of yours:
Fill the frame.
This is a basic rule of photography.
Make sure that the photo contains what you want and nothing more. That photo has a lot of unnecessary stuff around it. I'm not saying that you never want empty spaces in photos, but they should only be there if they serve a purpose. The same with random things/people in the background. This can't always be done, due to lack of zoom on ones camera, but in such cases you can still manually crop the image, on the computer.

Also, the picture is rather bad for demonstrating barefoot running, as it's taken from the front, rather than the side ...and the fact that it's taken in the night, makes it... less than ideal.--ZarlanTheGreen (talk) 19:58, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

Introduction to contentious topics

  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
