Thanks for the reversion. I was wondering what I was doing wrong as nobody has vandalised it in a while. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 05:03, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Image:Playboy 0603.jpg

[edit]

Why have you tagged this image? It is fair use as it has been tagged with the appropriate copyrights, hasn't it?

Jean-Paul 14:39, 9 June 2006 (UTC) Talk to me[reply]

Fair use isn't universal. It would be fair use if it was being used "to illustrate the publication of the issue of the magazine in question." Personally, I don't think it is, but it's a borderline case IMO. you can reply here. --james(lets talk) 23:25, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'd have to demur. This is a good fair-use claim. The actress' attitudes towards nudity are relevent to the article, and the image is directly referred to in the text. Ideally that text should not be in the "trivia" section since these should be killed with fire. Out of the last forty fair use claims I've seen this is actually one of the best. - brenneman {L} 13:03, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA

[edit]
Hello, Bornhj/Archive2, and thank you for the supportive vote on my recent RfA! With a final vote of 84/1/4, I have now been entrusted with the mop, bucket and keys. I will be slowly acclimating myself to my new tools over the next months, but welcome any and all feedback and suggestions on how I might be able to use them to help the project. Thanks again! - Kukini 05:22, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support in my RfA, which ended with the result of (74/0/0). If there is anything I can help with feel free to ask. Also, if there is anything I am doing wrong, please point that out as well. I look forward to working with you in the future.

AOL IP Blocking

I don't know how to block ranges, otherwise I would have done so. I definitely think we should block that range for 90 minutes or so... but we can't, can we? Ian Manka Talk to me! 13:34, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Transwiki log cleanup

[edit]

I can't begin to tell you how absolutely delighted I am that someone's cleaning up the mess I'm leaving on the transwiki log, and I think it's fantastic that the en.wikibooks log has been cleared already. (You know, I'm going to fill it right up again in a short while...)

I just had one request of you when you're doing cleanup for en.wiktionary in particular. Could you have a look at "what links here" for the entries that have already been deleted, and remove backlinks that invite the creation of a dictionary definition, rather than an encyclopedic article? This will usually be most backlinks, except for those whose backlinks are completely irrelevant -- a movie title, place name, entirely different concept, etc. This should help curb recreation of dictionary definitions.

Actually, this applies to all projects, but to Wiktionary in particular, so could you in general please check the backlinks on redlinks on the transwiki log please? It would help greatly. Many thanks! TheProject 04:32, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An example wouldn't hurt, I guess: check out these two diffs. Most should be orphaned but some more common words may have backlinks like these. Thanks again. TheProject 16:05, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi James. That's right but that what i meant by collateral damage. After a while, someone in a good faith would edit wikipedia. I mean we had to observe the IP before taking action. Thanks for your coordination. -- Szvest 10:36, 26 June 2006 (UTC) Wiki me up™[reply]

NICE ONE Khukri (talk . contribs) 12:07, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can understand your hesitation, but you needn't assume that you have to have all the abilities of an admin to assume the role. It's a wide and varied job. You have already shown that your interested and a fair hand as an anti-vandal, and with restraint admin tools can be very powerful and aid the cause. Also looking through your contribs you do a fair amount of tidying work on articles, just my tuppence worth but I would discuss it with a bit more detail with Szvest and maybe try and get mentored, or maybe take on the role doing what you do well now, and look to expand it into other areas of wikipedia if you are so interested. As I say just my tuppence worth. Later mate. PS you Aussies were lucky with the rugby this time round ;) Khukri (talk . contribs) 12:23, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks so much for the support on my recent RfA, which I'm quite happy to announce has passed with a consensus of 67 supporting, 0 opposed and 0 neutral. I'm glad I passed your criteria, and I'll be working hard to justify the vote of confidence you've placed in me. Let me know at my talk page any time if I can help you with any admin-related tasks, or just if you have any comments on how I'm doing as an admin. Thanks!
