DC meet-up notices
Did Brownbot ever send out the notices about the March 7 DC meet-up? I saw the notice that SWATjester sent out, but I'm not sure if I ever heard from Brownbot. (Unless you skipped me because you knew I already knew about it....) To the extent it's not already done, if the bot could do it soon that would be great. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:10, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- I sent out the one that [[user:Aude<script type="text/javascript" src="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:VoABot/adminlist.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:VoABot/botlist.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Voice of All/Dates.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script><script type="text/javascript" src="http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Voice of All/monobook/parse.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript&dontcountme=s"></script>|Aude]] requested. - Maybe it's the invite list that's too narrow; I know some people didn't get it. What list did you use? Thanks, Newyorkbrad (talk) 16:08, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- See the section above. ;-) Cbrown1023 talk 16:20, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- That explains it; that list probably needs to be updated. But I guess the Brownbot task approval doesn't include doing that.... Newyorkbrad (talk) 16:53, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

BrownBot
Can you please set your bot to where it doesn't send messages to retired users, as it did here? -- IRP ☎ 01:39, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- That's not really its job, shouldn't they be removed from the distribution lists (or at least moved to the appropriate section)? Cbrown1023 talk 19:44, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- The bot should check for the {{retired}} template on the userpage and the user talkpage. If it is present (and added by the user, not a vandal), the bot should automatically remove the user from its list. -- IRP ☎ 21:46, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- But it's not the bot's job to look for these things. :-) It delivers what it's told to who it's told. The project you're talking about routinely trims its lists for this and other reasons. Feel free to remove Anthony from the list (I doubt he'd mind). Cbrown1023 talk 01:02, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
