Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website, I have blocked this account from editing. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Thank you. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 21:28, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

This username refers to myself and only myself. I have used “Conabe Games” as a screen name to publish video games under, and this doesn’t refer to a company. These are self published by a single person, registered as a sole proprietor (with nothing to do with this screen name) in the state of Vermont. Conabe Games is a screen name, not a real company.ConAbe (talk) 01:16, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You chose to ignore the AfC process and unilaterally approve your article yourself twice. Even declaring a COI does not make articles immune to having to apply to notability criteria. I am not sure it was just not reading anything you were notified with or doing it on purpose, but if it was the latter then that would make it done to promote. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 04:35, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I just deleted an article that I have been literally bullied about for two weeks straight because I have a conflict of interest and even though I made an AfC draft (which is what the guidelines said to do) and it’s been peer-reviewed with no issues given twice in a row now, it was nominated for deletion and the consensus was delete. You proceeded to bring the article back, block me, and prevent me from replying to that AfD thread that you revived. What gives? Why am I being targeted? I don’t want to deal with the non-stop messages, but the project I was writing about requires an article here. This seems to be done in bad faith and I just want to know what I’ve done wrong and why I’ve been blocked for spam when I’m trying to delete everything and you’re not letting me. This is the definition of censorship, is it not? Cjamsla511 (talk) 00:26, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You were not being "bullied", you wrote an inappropriate article, and then behaved disruptively once it was nominated for deletion. Having one's work nominated for deletion, or even just removed in the course of normal editing, is an expected part of editing Wikipedia. If you cannot handle that without behaving in the way you did, this is not the right place for you to participate. If you believe you can understand what went wrong and do better in the future, please detail what you understand about that in a future request. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

(not an admin, just commenting) It was peer-reviewed and declined due to not meeting notability guidelines. Those are issues. I don't know if you misunderstood the decline template or what, but look at #Your submission at Articles for creation: Project Colored Mountains (May 8) for the issues raised with the draft. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 00:50, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My notifications page shows that it was peer-reviewed 12 hours ago by User:Hey man im josh and it didn’t show anything wrong. I agree that it may not meet the notability guidelines which is why I moved it back to draftspace until I found sources but it was moved back and I was blocked for ‘spam’. Cjamsla511 (talk) 00:56, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Cjamsla511: I marked the page as reviewed as a matter of procedure. All articles sent to WP:AFD are marked as reviewed because they are undergoing a review elsewhere. This removes the pages from the new pages backlog that WP:NPP patrol. I have no opinion on the article because I did not actually review the content. Request reason:

I understand that the article I wrote doesn’t meet GNG, that much is clear. The problem is I’m not sure how and why I was blocked. What about my behavior has been disruptive? Was it participating in the AfD thread? Was it draftifying the article? Was it trying to delete the article? Also, what about the article was spam or promotional? It seems neutral to me. Cjamsla511 (talk) 19:22, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Please do not abuse the unblock template to ask questions instead of making an unblock request. Yamla (talk) 20:45, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The only things you ever edited on Wikipedia were COI-related contributions, and based on the language in your original unblock request ("the project I was writing about requires an article here." this is the type of thinking that is promotional by nature, Wikipedia has no obligation to host an article on anything), I can see why you got blocked for using your account only for advertising and promotion. I think the block may have been a bit harsh, but you've shown more signs of trying to spread information about your game than trying to improve the encyclopedia.

The article's text is fine from a neutrality standpoint, but there are multiple cites to stores, and the nature by which it was created made it seem like you were trying to make an article on your game for promotional reasons, with very little signs that your intent was to improve the encyclopedia.

As for your disruptive behavior, I'd guess it's the language you used in the first unblock request and generally in defense of the article. Claims of censorship, bad faith and being targeted/bullied are not going to help your case there. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 05:35, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An indefinite ban seems too harsh. Can we just make it a couple of months instead? Most of this conflict seems to be a misunderstanding on how Wikipedia works on the part of the user rather than malice. Or just a topic ban on video games @Skarmory:--Trade (talk) 13:02, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Trade: I agree the indefinite block seemed somewhat harsh, but I'm not an admin, just been trying to answer the questions asked here. The only reason I haven't said much more is that there are zero signs so far that Cjamsla plans to edit anything outside of games they're actively involved with, and that's the entirety of their editing history so far, so the block over "advertising and promotion" stands strong. A TBAN probably just runs them off anyway, and this block can always be appealed, so I don't really think a fixed-length block changes much. Skarmory (talk • contribs) 20:16, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure you are not conflating CoI and promotional editing? --Trade (talk) 20:21, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This. Although my behavior in regards to being blocked was in no way acceptable and I should not have moved the article to mainspace, I’m not sure how COI editing is automatically promotional. Cjamsla511 (talk) 00:01, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I find it hard to easily brush away quotes like "the project I was writing about requires an article here" as just pure COI. I could be wrong, COI and promotional editing can be hard to differentiate and I don't consider myself an expert in COI handlings (the last time I was seriously involved in observing COI was nearly a year ago at this point, and even then I'd just stumbled across it a bunch in a short span of time and it wasn't really intentional), but I think the reaction to the original block more than anything demonstrated the promotional nature I saw. It could be a heat of the moment reaction too, I'm not an expert in psychoanalysis either (and psychoanalyzing things here feels a little overboard anyway).
I think an unblock is reasonable here, once understanding of the problems is demonstrated (and I'm starting to see it). The original block was harsh, but I don't see the reason a fixed-length block or topic ban is better than letting a block appeal happen after time to reflect and understand everything (the decline of the first block appeal makes the same general point). Skarmory (talk • contribs) 00:24, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It was a heat of the moment reaction. It didn't actually need an article but it helps with an info box on YouTube, and I just wanted people to know of it. That's what an encyclopedia is for, educating in a (usually) neutral way, right? That was, at least, my thought process when making the article. I know now that my game is nowhere near notable enough (yet) to warrant a Wikipedia article, and that I shouldn't have published without going through AfC, but I didn't at the time. Request reason:

Although my behavior in regards to being blocked was in no way acceptable and I should not have moved the article to mainspace, I’m not sure how COI editing is automatically promotional. I will try refrain from making direct edits or making articles directly in mainspace without requesting first for articles that I have a conflict-of-interest for. I didn’t know that wasn’t allowed.

By the way, I’m not sure what my thought process was in the previous two requests, please ignore it. Cjamsla511 (talk) 00:09, 9 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
