Welcome!

[edit]
Hi, Deathardath, and Welcome to Wikipedia!

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read the simplified ruleset. If you need help, feel free to use any of Wikipedia's hundreds of resources. I personally recommend the Wikipedia:Boot Camp, where in addition to standard posts, you can use an IRC to chat online with fellow Wikipedians willing to help! In addition, Wikipedia also has pages dedicated to the use of Wikipedia, for example, if you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting pages visit the manual of style. Feel free to post questions on my talk page - I'm happy to help you with anything you need.

Hi, on new pages patrol I notice that you have used this link in many new school pages, for example Castle Hall School. However, it appears broken. Can you fix it, please? BlueValour (talk) 00:52, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sixth form colleges

[edit]

You have put Kirkbie Kendal School into Category:Sixth form colleges in the United Kingdom, but are you sure that KKS is a Sixth form college? As far as I was aware, KKS takes pupils from the age of 11. David Biddulph (talk) 10:33, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be a more widespread problem. Sixth form colleges only cater for children taking A levels, but you seem to be incorrectly categorising all 11-18 schools as sixth form colleges. I've reverted the categorisation on two schools which I'm watching (St Crispins School and the Forest School (Winnersh)) but there seem to be many more schools affected. It would be much appreciated if you could refrain from making any further incorrect categorisations and it would be a great help if you could revert the inappropriate changes you've already made. Dahliarose (talk) 23:56, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop your disruptive editing, such as the edit you made to Shrewsbury School. If your vandalism continues, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. David Biddulph (talk) 09:05, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

URGENT

[edit]

Please desist from tagging Secondary schools with Category:Sixth form colleges no schools legally have Sixth Form Colleges as a Sixth form college is legally a separate institution that provides for years 12 and 14 . so STOP I am reverting some of what you have incorretly done. If you dont stop I will consider it Vandalism and may get an ADMIN in involved!ARBAY TALKies 12:00, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have started to revert the Incorrect Categorisations you have made ARBAY TALKies 14:29, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adding schools to biography articles

[edit]

Hi, if you add any more schools to biographical articles or add notable former students to school articles, please will you also add, at the same time, a reliable source for the information. I'm sure you will understand how important it is to get this sort of information correct, particularly in the case of biographies of living people. Thank you. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 14:14, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please STOP adding unsourced information to biographical articles. Struway2 (talk) 10:21, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I Agree That The Unsourced Information Needs to Be STOPED. While the Information May be Notable Information that does not come from "Multiple Reliable Sources" May Be Deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CelesJalee (talkcontribs) 23:03, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

August 2008

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Tory Christman, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Cirt (talk) 02:04, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living persons, as you did to Miss Cleo. You've been asked several times not to add unsourced information to biographical articles; please stop. Struway2 (talk) 12:27, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Can I suggest that if you want to start a list of prominent IHS alumni, that's fine, but don't do so by starting it with one person, especially one of perhaps dubious celebrity, since that would violate WP:Weight by suggesting that the lister person is the only well-known alumni, which is certainly not the case. Do some research, get some citations, and start the list you want with referenced names. Thanks. Ed Fitzgerald (unfutz) (talk / cont) 19:45, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Simon Balle School

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Simon Balle School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Signing posts

[edit]

As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Wikipedia guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, and WikiProject pages. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then be automatically added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info, read Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. TerriersFan (talk) 22:05, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Gladesmore Community School, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.gladesmore.haringey.sch.uk/policies/other_policies/uniform.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 02:20, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm wondering why you've classified Laban (college) as an independent or public school. Surely it is a higher education institution.--Oxonian2006 (talk) 20:29, 5 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been active on Wikipedia since this message was posted, so I am wondering why there is no reply to it yet.--144.82.106.37 (talk) 14:10, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for creating the template! :) --Joshua Issac (talk) 18:29, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Mary Rose School

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Mary Rose School, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

CelesJalee (talk) 22:12, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Mary Rose School. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Template:Cheshire Secondary Schools, did not appear to be constructive and has been removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you.  DDStretch  (talk) 19:59, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you.

You have been adding categories and text to several school articles indicating that the schools are all-girls' schools - this appears to be false, according to the schools' own sites. Please do not introduce errors, or, if you believe that the information is correct, provide sources. Thank you. --Bonadea (talk) 12:06, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Block

[edit]

I'm struggling to see how your account serves any useful purpose? 24hr block for disruptive edits and creation of a "manifesto" article sourced to fake links. Further behaviour of this kind will lead to further blocks. Deiz talk 13:25, November 10, 2008 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Chesire education navboxes, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Chesire education navboxes has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Chesire education navboxes, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on St. Joseph's Academy, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
