Information icon Welcome, and thank you for contributing the page MedicAnimal spain to Wikipedia. While you have added the page to the English version of Wikipedia, the article is not in English. We invite you to translate it into English. It currently has been listed at Pages Needing Translation, but if it is not translated within two weeks, the article will be listed for deletion. Thank you. Zince34' 10:14, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pet-supermarket requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. TheLongTone (talk) 18:25, 26 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of MedicAnimal

[edit]

Hello Wikikokoba,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged MedicAnimal for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Eingangskontrolle (talk) 12:22, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Wikikokoba. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 14:39, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Teahouse

[edit]

You have some answers to your question at Teahouse. I don't think you are blocked and I am sorry you had that impression. Please take to heart what has been said here and at the teahouse regarding editing with a COI. I also noticed your referencing on one of your articles was done in a non-standard way. I will leave you some instruction on how to do it correctly. Feel free to come by my talk page if you ever need any help. John from Idegon (talk) 15:38, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Adding references can be easy

[edit]
Just follow the steps 1, 2 and 3 as shown and fill in the details

Hello! Here's how to add references from reliable sources for the content you add to Wikipedia. This helps maintain the Wikipedia policy of verifiability.

Adding well formatted references is actually quite easy:

  1. While editing any article or a wikipage, on the top of the edit window you will see a toolbar which says "Cite". Click on it.
  2. Then click on "Templates".
  3. Choose the most appropriate template and fill in as many details as you can. This will add a well formatted reference that is helpful in case the web URL (or "website link") becomes inactive in the future.
  4. Click on Preview when you're done filling out the 'Cite (web/news/book/journal)' to make sure that the reference is correct.
  5. Click on Insert to insert the reference into your editing window content.
  6. Click on Show preview to Preview all your editing changes.
  • Before clicking on Save page, check that a References header   ==References==   is near the end of the article.
  • And check that   {{Reflist}}    is directly underneath that header.
7.  Click on Save page. ...and you've just added a complete reference to a Wikipedia article.

You can read more about this on Help:Edit toolbar or see this video File:RefTools.ogv.
Hope this helps, --John from Idegon (talk) 15:38, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kokoba Ltd. not only owns the brand names this account has spammed for, but has been in trouble with regulators for their bad social media practices

[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Medicanimal logo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Medicanimal logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 17:22, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request & change of username

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I would like to apologize for my initial confusion when creating the pages, but I had begun complying with Wikipedia:PSCOI even prior to my block, after being advised of conflict of interest guidelines. I would like the opportunity to continue working with editors transparently within the limitations set out at WP:COI and WP:FAQ/Organizations and suggest articles through the article wizard for other editors to approve/reject/edit. I would appreciate any help you could give in order for me not to make the same mistakes again and comply with any rules set by the wikipedia community regarding COI and general behaviour. I also changed my username as I understand the previous one was in clear breach of your policies, and propose davidvenon (my name) instead. Please let me know what next steps I should take for this. Many thanks.

Accept reason:

Unblocking to allow username change. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Note that this block is conditional on the following terms: you will not edit, upload or link to materials concerning Kokoba Ltd or related companies of products. Making suggested edits on talkpages will not be considered a violation of these terms. Yunshui  10:07, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I also see a couple of WP:COPYRIGHT violations, especially in the images that we were forced to delete above. I'll be honest: all I see from this account is promotion, and it's pretty ugly promotion. It's unquestionably unethical to be making the edits you've done, and similarly to make the edits you propose in the future - in part because of the the level of promotion you've been doing. I mean, if this was occasional accidental stuff, it's one thing - but you're all-out promoting, and because of that plus your stated goals moving forward, I'm rather hesitant to unblock whatsoever the panda ₯’ 09:55, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dangerous Panda, thank you for your response. I completely understand your hesitation at unblocking, based on my previous (poor) attempts at creating a page for the company. I would however like to add that, regarding the images, although I was at the time unfamiliar with the copyright rules, the images were not copyright infringements as they were placed with authorization. However, understanding the licensing requirements better, I know what steps are necessary to license the material now. I would also mention that my stated goals moving forward are, I feel, well within the recommendations of the conflict of interest guideline and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. If you check the following link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:MedicAnimal)you will see that prior to my block, I had even, once I understood that the "awards" section was an issue, asked if I could remove it myself. I understand now the aim of Wikipedia and the need for unbiased information and notable sources, and would like to amend my previous mistakes by asking for editors' help in creating a suitable page for the company, based on the wikipedia community requirements, and really need your help for this. Thanks again for your time.

You agreed when you signed up to NOT write about org's you're involved in whatsoever. Are we to understand that you have another account that was already blocked (I'm asking based on your comment here). Your "article" on MedicAnimal is exactly what Wikipedia does not want, as we're not a business directory the panda ₯’ 23:27, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would be willing to unblock your account provided that you agree not to write about, add links or upload pictures regarding Kokoba Ltd, MedicAnimal or any of their products in the future. If you are happy to abide by these terms, then I will lift the block to allow you to choose a new username. Yunshui  10:10, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@DangerousPanda: I suspect the other account you're referring to is User:Medicanimal, blocked about six months back. Technically that makes this account a sockpuppet, but I'd be happy to treat that as a misunderstanding and allow the user to use this as a primary account (User:Medicanimal would of course remain blocked). Woudl appreciate your comments, however. Yunshui  10:14, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Yunshui Thank you for your message. Let me try and answer each points you raised. Regarding the "notes" about a a previous account deleted, my comment on the note page referred to my wikikokoba account, which I had misunderstood to have been blocked where in fact it was only a mention that the pages were up for deletion. I was fairly new at all this and as it turned out the wikikokoba account got indeed blocked, albeit the day after my comment (28th of March). The Medicanimal account was created prior to me taking on my role for this company so I am not actually associated with it. Regarding the unblock, I appreciate your help with the matter. I would indeed agree to the conditions you mentionned, but I would also like to know if this means I cannot ask for help if the page needed amendments? Or am I to understand that any involvement, even via the wikipedia community, would result in a further block? I would like to know if the unblock would prevent my using the talk page as recommended at the COI guideline and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for any issues my company may have to bring up, or if I would have to instead reach out to the volunteer email response team? I presumed direct outreach at the article talk page is preferred but if it is isn't then please let me know.My goal here is really to understand what I am allowed to do and how to do it, to avoid misunderstandings. Many thanks again for your time and help with this.

I don't know why I didn't get that ping, above, but my apologies for the delay in replying. In answer to your question, you would be permitted to propose changes on article talkpages, and request articles via WP:RA - what you would no be allowed to do is edit any page about your company directly. On pages which are not related to your company, you would be as free to edit as anyone else. Yunshui  09:48, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Yunshui Thank you so much for the clarification, this is very generous considering all the problems encountered with creating those articles. I completely understand the need to avoid self-promotional articles on Wikipedia and editing pages myself, so I find being able to suggest edits for articles about my company is a very good way for me to do the job I was asked to do without conflicting with your guidelines, so if you are still happy for this to go through and unblock my account, I would gladly accept and thank you again for your help. Once the account is unblocked (if you still agree obviously)could you point me towards the right place to change my username so it fits your requirements? Many thanks!

Wikipedia:Changing username Hi, I would like to request a change of username from the previous wikikokoba to my name david.venon. As discussed with Wikipedai editors, I understand that the username chnage and unblock of account is conditional on the following terms: I will not edit, upload or link to materials concerning Kokoba Ltd or related companies of products. Making suggested edits on talkpages will not be considered a violation of these terms. Thanks,

Please actually go to the page Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the instructions there. Yunshui  10:50, 28 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User:Yunshui Sorry, seems I'm really not good at this! :) Done now, thanks again for your help!
