Visors on motocross helmets

Motorcycling for Dummies says "These helmets also have a visor to help block the sun and deflect small branches and rocks tossed by your buddy's bike ahead of you." It's also described as a "sun peak" in another adventure motorcycling book. Sometimes things aren't what they seem, or contrary to what individual editors believe.
