Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Bill Green (athlete) has been reverted.
Your edit here to Bill Green (athlete) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DY9XDPa4JMI) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Hi Hammerthrow1984, I've tagged the Bill Green (athlete) for some obvious problems--WP:NOR and WP:COI among them; your username suggests the possibility that you may be the subject of the article. I think WP:OWNERSHIP is a concern as well. I'd suggest you begin to add acceptable sources to the article, per WP:RELIABLE, and remove unsourced assessments and opinions, per Wikipedia guidelines. You may wish to begin by using the article's talk page for discussion. Thank you, 76.248.151.159 (talk) 19:11, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. 76.248.151.159 (talk) 18:50, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, as previously explained, unsourced information can nor be added to Wikipedia articles. This is especially true for biographies of living persons, and includes content added by the subject or people related to the subject. Please add acceptable references, per WP:RELIABLE. Thank you, 76.248.151.159 (talk) 18:50, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have made an effort to communicate the problems with the article, and with your edits, per encyclopedic standards. Without your willingness to respond--instead continuing to add unsourced content and original research, then removing maintenance templates--I'm compelled to request further assistance. In the meantime, I'll ask again that you take time to read the site's guidelines. Thank you, 76.248.151.159 (talk) 19:10, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ANI notice

[edit]

Information icon Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. 76.248.151.159 (talk) 19:20, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hammerthrow, I think you need to have a look at the edit summaries and the linked Wikipedia guidelines on this talk page. You probably need to start responding and talking, here and on the article talk page. Right now it does appear that there is a conflict of interest; it is most certainly true that you bloated the article with unverified material and non-neutral claims to greatness, in addition to material that has nothing to do with the subject, like the histories of hammerthrowing in the US. Let me warn you that further edit warring will result in a block, and that further editing against our guidelines and policies may result in a block as well. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 19:28, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Your edit-warring over those templates is noted. For the record, I'm not reverting you since I agree, mostly, with the removal. But again, I have to warn you. Edit-warring, esp. with unexplained reverts, is disruption. I am not going to block you this time; still, you need to know that your behavior is disruptive, even if you're right. At some point you have to start playing by the rules. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 16:37, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
