Nancy DiNardo

Hello, I am trying to start an article page for Nancy DiNardo (of which you are already aware). My goal, is to integrate Connecticut's "Town Committee" information into Wikipedia. Their influence has been substantial in nearly every state-level election. If at all possible, I'd like to be helped!

Sincerely, TWillisJr

Twillisjr (talk) 03:26, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

The thing is, I'm not sure if the "town committee" level of politics meets notability standards. In any case, you would be better off going to the article talk page and stating what you just did. --I dream of horses (T) @ 03:30, 6 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi I dream of horses! Thanks for tagging Qalam Qirtas for speedy deletion. This is just to let you know that I deleted it, but that I did it under speedy deletion criterion A7, rather than A1, which you tagged it with. A good rule of thumb to use here is that if you can tell what the article is about, then it's not an A1. Let me know if you have any questions about this. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 12:26, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. --I dream of horses (T) @ 16:24, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Shinobi Girl

Hello I dream of horses, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Shinobi Girl, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: There is sufficient context to identify the subject of the article. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 05:06, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Okay, I was a little iffy on that one. Thanks! --I dream of horses (T) @ 05:07, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
No worries. :) Again, A1 only applies if you really have no idea what the article is about. Did you ever read WP:FIELD and WP:WIHSD, by the way? Both of those essays explain the issues very well. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 05:11, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Hmm. The essays have given me food for thought. --I dream of horses (T) @ 05:22, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Warwick SU edit

Hi I dream of horses,

You recently wrote to me saying this:

User talk:137.205.210.36 From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search August 2012

Hello, I'm I dream of horses. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made to University of Warwick Students' Union, because it didn't appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a ERROR: Please enter the username parameter when using the {{Talkback}} template - thus {{Talkback|<username>}}. message on my talk page. @ 05:53, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

The edit was made as the information in the article is a year out of date. I am in charge of democratic services at Warwick SU and it is counterproductive for the wikipedia page to display out of date information as we are currently undergoing major reform. Can you please put my edit back? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.205.210.36 (talkcontribs) 4:03 15 August 2012‎

If I truly make a mistake, you can simply do it again. No need to ask my permission.
Since you work for Warwick SU, you may wish to skim our conflict of interest policies, to see whether or not it applies to you. However, I would believe you would be allowed to add up-to-date information, especially if it's backed up by independent, secondary sources. I dream of horses (T) @ 18:17, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
After reviewing my edit, it appears that I reverted it in an overly haste manner because a large amount of text was deleted. I dream of horses (T) @ 18:19, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Point Clark

I'm surprised that Wikipedia would allow for the inclusion of such a paragraph (on industrial wind turbines) under the Point Clark page, it falls under a category of 'opinion', not fact. It is misleading and draws into question the validity of all information that can be found on this site. Not only is it opinion, but it is hostile opinion, unbalanced and biased. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.253.242.138 (talk) 18:35, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

And now, hopefully you realize that you aren't going to fix a "fact vs. opinion" by putting up your own opinion. --I dream of horses (T) @ 18:37, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Yes, I learned a lesson... how to have speculative content removed from Wikipedia. Which was what I wanted to have done in the first place, i just didn't know how to properly go about it. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MichaelLaudij (talkcontribs) 19:02, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Mr. Nobody

Hi, I believe you reverted my edit by mistake? --Mark91it's my world 21:29, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Yup. --I dream of horses (T) @ 21:33, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Hi there!

Hi I dream of horses! I hope you are doing well :) I am working on a new project to engage women in contributing to Wikipedia. I would *love* to have your input (and even you volunteer to help!). First, you can find the new project here: Wikiwomen's Collaborative. Second, I'm looking for input on the talk page, so any thoughts and feelings would be great! You can find some of my questions here. I'm especially interested in feedback about WordPress. Also, if you do think you'd like to lend a hand - and as an experienced woman editor I'd *love* you to be involved in this space, you can sign up to be a volunteer here. We'll be crafting more defined roles soon, but, just knowing you have interest would rock.

Thank you so much :) Can't wait for your input and participation. SarahStierch (talk) 22:37, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

King Of The Dot

I changed the link from England to Don't Flop, as the MCs that are from England are from that division. Was that unconstructive in some way? 92.7.96.181 (talk) 19:52, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

I misinterpreted your edit. Sorry, I corrected myself. --I dream of horses (T) @ 19:55, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Meat Cake

Hello I dream of horses, I altered the Meatcake page because the comic is actually called 'Meat Cake' ( 'Meatcake Fantagraphics' Google Search ), and it is not searchable on Wikipedia by its proper name. I apologize if this edit wasn't kosher. Sallyzamboni (talk) 04:57, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

I should be the one apologizing to you. I changed the name of the article (it's now called Meat Cake), and reverted myself. :-) --I dream of horses (T) @ 05:02, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
Good to be on the same page. I am just learning about this stuff, so I appreciate feedback.

The question marks I put in the middle of both sentences were to encourage the next reader or somebody who actually knows to explain these two statements, which were not referenced and they contradict all Bulgarian history books and TV documentaries. 94.236.139.1 (talk) 23:20, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

I apologize for the edit. I was simply showing that using a Wikipedia page as a source is not a reliable way to back up a supposed fact since they can be edited by anyone at any time and even when sourcing, can be swayed by the opinion of the author or authors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.112.28.77 (talk) 05:40, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Your anti-vandalism efforts

Your anti-vandalism efforts are highly commendable. But when you start a warning with "Hello, I'm I dream of horses," somehow your warning loses credibility. A boilerplate templated warning, with your chosen username present only as a signature, would be more effective than the way your present postings appear. Regards. Edison (talk) 04:50, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

It's automatically added by sTiki. I'm not sure how to fix it. --I dream of horses (T) @ 05:10, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Well, the AI capabilities of STiki are certainly a "force multiplier" in vandalism fighting, compared to Twinkle, so maybe nothing needs fixing. I just happened to see a vandal's page with your warning and at first reading I thought it started "Hello, I dream of horses," rather than the actual text. Regards. Edison (talk) 19:04, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
Just out of curiosity, what's a force multiplier? --I dream of horses (T) @ 21:16, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

HI:

I understand that the sentence I included was somewhat out of place, but I just wanted to call attention to a contradiction in the statement. Dr. Weber claims (like many other scholars) that the Iron Cross First Class was rarely awarded to an enlisted man like Hitler, but within the same sentence he claims that the award was commonly awarded to men like Hitler. Which is it. What is problematic about this passage is that the whole paragraph about Hitler's participation in WWI is based on Weber's book (Hitler's First War) published in 2010. His findings are tentative and if you read interviews with him, he says that his findings "suggest" x, y or z. His book was well received by the popular press, but the ideas he puts forward have not been generally accepted by the scholarly community. I should know since I teach military history and try to keep up with the literature. There is a pattern in Wikipedia that I believe is problematic. Whenever a book that has some popular acclamation or is received with interest by critics, whatever theses the book presents are immediately placed in Wikipedia superseding previous notions or established scholarly findings. While Weber's findings and hypotheses are interesting and in some cases new, they have not been accepted as the definitive truth about Hitler's life during WWI. While Weber's research is solid, his interpretations of what he found are taken too far. He seems to give too much validity to second and third hand accounts. He questions certain generally accepted facts, but gives too much credence to claims by individuals with a particular bias or who recollect events many decades after the facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.206.228.134 (talk) 23:35, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Don't disrupt Wikipedia to make a point--no, not even in a way that isn't a big deal. Please use the talk page of the article to discuss your concerns instead. That way, you won't get reverted.
Since you seem new to Wikipedia, I'll direct you to the talk page. It's here. I dream of horses (T) @ 23:43, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

My edit on MyMusic's Wikiepdia page

"I dream of horses", my change to MyMusic's page was real and undebatable. The original title for episode 18 on Wikipedia was "Party Time" when it was actually "PARTY TIME!" (proof/source here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wlkAtQCnCU) All I did was add all caps and an exclamation point.

I don't consider YouTube a reliable source of information, but if you honestly believe it's reliable in this specific situation, go ahead and revert me. --I dream of horses (T) @ 01:08, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

I think I just add some additional information about Dewi Sri. But it's okay if you feel that the information I added unconstructive. As you know, the information I got from a story of Sureq Galigo. It tells us that there is a rice goddess in Buginese mythology named Sangiang Serri. She is the firstborn daughter of Batara Guru and his concubine, We Saung Nriuq. She was named We Oddang Nriuq but seven days later she died. After her death, rice crops grows around the place she was buried.

Her father then went to Boting Langiq (i.e. heaven, kingdom of the gods), questioned La Patotoqe (the ruler of Boting Langiq, which is his father) about that weird phenomenon. La Patotoqe explained him that We Oddang Nriuq is Sangiang Serri, who becomes rice crops to feed human beings and commanded him to cultivate the rice crops. And later, Batara Guru recommended his people in his kingdom (Ale Luwuq) to treat the rice well for his daughter's sake.

Plus, I think that the name Sangiang Serri in Buginese language also cognates to Sanghyang Sri in Sundanese language

That's my argument. Hope you accept it.

Thanks n regards - Dejongstebroer

Actually, while your edit might've been in good faith, you deleted a large portion of the article. I dream of horses (T) @ 01:10, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
And by the way, you deleted a large part of this talk page, too. Please be more careful. I dream of horses (T) @ 01:12, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
