Petits Filous moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Petits Filous, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, JalvinWiki. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page James Ross Island, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Belbury (talk) 21:50, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry[edit]

I am sorry for not editing in the style that Wikipedia requires, and I will try and improve myself in the sandbox. I know what I am in trouble for, and I'm sorry.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I feel like I can do better. I have learned from my mistake, and I will consult several reputable sources from now on. I am so so sorry for any damage that I caused. Signed, JalvinWiki

Decline reason:

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate and confirm that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:

    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...),
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: ),
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: ),
      • and do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include any citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking using unblock and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will hopefully improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 16:56, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Suggestion for Vekoma page[edit]

I wish to submit an improvement for the Vekoma English Wikipedia page. It is a new paragraph between the two sentences in small.

In 1979 Vekoma entered the market on its own, opening three coasters in Europe under the name Vekoma Rides Manufacturing BV.

In 2001, Vekoma filed for bankruptcy due at least partially due to the decline in theme park attendance, likely due to high gas/petrol prices, which in turn, led to fewer orders for Vekoma. They reorganized and reshuffled their corporate structure. They also laid off another 240 employees. Another reason of their bankruptcy might have been the failure of their Flying Dutchman flying roller coaster model. This was likely due to mechanical problems, causing the models to receive less capacity than expected.

In 2006, Vekoma formed an alliance with U.S.-based manufacturer Chance Morgan.

Suggestion for Wikipedia as a whole[edit]

I wish there was a way to have a claim listed as "Rumor" or "Speculation" as to let people come to their own conclusions and have all the information that might be used to form a conclusive solution and have it citated. JalvinWiki (talk) 18:20, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for The Gravity Group page[edit]

I wish to submit an improvement for the The Gravity Group English Wikipedia page. It is a new sentence after the sentence in small.

The Gravity Group also designed The Voyage at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana, which opened in May 2006 and is the second-longest wooden roller coaster in the world. The Gravity Group consults Martin and Vleminckx to construct their pre-2008 coasters, and their roller coasters in China.

Suggestion for Epilepsy[edit]

I wish to submit an improvement for the Epilepsy English Wikipedia page. It will be under Causes.

Flashing Lights[edit]

People with photosensitive epilepsy may experience a seizure if the visual information rapidly changes, such as flashing lights. This happens most commonly in television, or older video games, when the condition was not as well known. Photosensitive epilepsy affects around 1 in 4000 people, more commonly in women and younger people.

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

Unblock request[edit]

Request reason:

Now, I will admit, I do have a controversial history. However, this is a document about me rectifying these issues. If I were to be unblocked and if everyone else hadn't already reverted my edits, I would have reverted them myself, given my new information.

First, the question. Will I follow the community's view on the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia going forward? Yes. [1]

The second thing I want to do is steelman your argument and say that I was banned for disruptive editing which may include: Edits that don't leave a positive impact, or actively leave a negative impact on Wikipedia, unsourced claims, inappropriate styles of writing, or factually wrong claims. Wikipedia:Disruptive editing This steelman is here so I can prove that I know what I was blocked for.

Third, my new edits. First, check my suggestions that I left above, then check my recent contributions over on the Simple English Wikipedia [1].

Now, do I think the block was warranted? Yes, but I don't think it's necessary anymore. I feel like this blocking taught me a valuable lesson to be more productive.

I want this to be more than just a simple "I'm sorry". I want this to be a place where I can post information about this situation, and how I can improve in future, so you can decide if it's convincing enough to warrant an unblock.

In conclusion, I think that the block is no longer necessary because I have learned from the situation and promise to not do these disruptive edits again.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. I self declined the request because nobody else would.

Extra Notes of Unblock Request[edit]

If you want to send me a decline telling me to create a new account, please stop, as I know it's not gonna work. According to WP:CLEANSTART: "A clean start is not permitted if there are active bans, blocks, or sanctions (including but not limited to those listed here) in place against the old account." That would be socking. People have given me bogus declines before, but they're usually dealt with within a couple of days.

The reason why I didn't heed the warnings is because before the block, I didn't read my inbox. I don't check my e-mail that often, so why would I check my inbox? Now I know, of course, to check my inbox.

If my sources are not good enough for you, let me know, and tell me what I should source. You will get me closer to getting unblocked.

Concern regarding Draft:Petits Filous[edit]

Request reason:

First, do I agree to follow the policies when editing in future? Yes. I will not continue my disruptive editing, which may include: *Advertisement *Inappropriate phrasing (Such as ALL CAPS WRITING e.g. my Bee Movie edit, and informal writing) *Unsourced Claims *Claims only I would know (such as facts about me, e.g. my James Ross Island edit). For proof of my edits improving, please refer to my Simple English Wikipedia edits and my suggestions above. I also fully agree that my block was warranted, and that MaterialScientist was right in blocking me, but I don't think it's necessary anymore. If you want more context in the specific situations, I already gave them in the previous unblock request above. I have learned from my mistakes, and promise to not edit disruptively again, and make useful contributions instead. Also, please stop sending me spam decline reasons like "We were unable to unblock your account so create a new one instead." Just, no. I am looking for actual admins, not IP editors.

Accept reason:

As you do seem to have made an effort to understand what the issues were that led to your block, I have unblocked your account. Please do be aware that this is a last chance—any return to disruption is likely to see the block reinstated, and it would not likely be lifted again.
