Welcome Katie, it is good to have more users interested in South African here, it is a great place and there is no-where else like it. You can find a small group of South Africans at Wikipedia:Wikipedians/South Africa. You have a wonderful handle, have you read the two books by DC Talk - Jesus Freaks and Live Like a Jesus Freak? --Jcw69 08:10, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:High Entrance.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:High Entrance.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:06, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Erm, I'm terrible at thinking up titles

[edit]

Hi, Katie:

I noticed you out of a list of fellow INFJ Wikipedians. How long have you been so interested in South Africa? I have been meaning to get down there myself and tour the breadth of the country (I've never been before, but some of my ancestors were Jewish voortrekkers who ended up fighting Apartheid) but, since I avoid flying (not out of a fear of it, but because it's so extortionately priced,) I would have to go overland from England.

Anyhow, before this message meanders into further parenthical pointlessness, my original point was: I noticed your website, and I was wondering, do you want any assistance as to how to link your pages? I thought that it would be a shame after putting effort into a website for the other pages to remain unseen!

Hi!

[edit]

I read your user page - I like all of your user boxes, and agree with most of them. I like the singular they, though.... Please, can you read my user page?! See you on FunTrivia! Emily (Funtrivia Freak) 20:10, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

North Korea

[edit]

Hi. North Korea tested a few missiles the other day. It did not test a nuclear weapon. So I have reverted your incorrect edits on this subject. Hope you understand. --Fastfission 17:57, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mandela image

[edit]

Hi Katie. I loved your user page. Unfortunately Image:Nelson Mandela Being Sworn In.jpg is a fair use image and so cannot ne used outside the article mainspace, if I understand Wikipedia:Fair use correctly. Feel free to seek other opinions but I'd say you cannot have this picture here, sorry. --Guinnog 17:33, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application

[edit]

Dear Jesus geek,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen 18:56, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Rainbow_flag.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. I noted you removed the {{Orphan}} tag from the article. I don't understand why you did this. There are no articles that link to it. ttonyb1 (talk) 19:28, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I totally missed that. I am so sorry to have bothered you about this. Enjoy the day/evening. ttonyb1 (talk) 19:44, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's easy to miss! Have a great day! Jesus geek (talk) 19:45, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Jesus geek! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 51 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Haitian Creole grammar check request

[edit]

Hi. I noticed that you were one of few recently-active Wikipedians able to contribute in Haitian Creole language, and wondered whether you could help do a brief grammar check on this lyrical passage that I wrote. It was directly translated from French via Google translate, and I'm not sure how well the translator does its job for these two closely-related languages. Please respond on my talkpage or under the archived reference desk entry. Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 02:01, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2011 Somali protests listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect 2011 Somali protests. Since you had some involvement with the 2011 Somali protests redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Closedmouth (talk) 07:14, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Amne Machin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Tibetan language (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa

[edit]

Hello,

I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabell@doualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahf@africacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.

If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/

Best regards, Islahaddow
