The link I added to h-index is not spam. It links to a very good software I designed for calculating the h-index and other parameters online. It sends the results by email in a cvs format. For more info please see this link. Also I'm not advertising my personal website, Via-academy is an organisation of Italian Scientists working abroad, it has around 400 members, which includes professors and researchers working for Universities around the world, but mainly in UK. This software has been tested by the Via-academy's members and it has been using by many Italian Academics in Italy. The results of this software are under rewiew by the ANVUR, the National Agency for the Evaluation of Italian Universities.

[edit]

Your recent edits seem to have the appearance of edit warring after a review of the reverts you have made on H-index. Users are expected to collaborate and discuss with others and avoid editing disruptively.

Please be particularly aware, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Crusio (talk) 09:32, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on H-Index Calculator requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Scholar H-Index Batch Calculator requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Speedy deletion nomination of Most Cited Universities

[edit]

Hello Luca boscolo,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Most Cited Universities for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. Take a look at our suggestions for essential content in short articles to learn what should be included.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Barney the barney barney (talk) 10:47, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Most Cited Universities

[edit]

Hello, Luca boscolo,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Most Cited Universities should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Most Cited Universities .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Barney the barney barney (talk) 12:23, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Understanding Wikipedia policies

[edit]

Hi Luca,

Please understand Wikipedia policies, including that Wikipedia is not the place for original thoughts or research WP:NOR. If you think you have a new improved method of ranking research or universities, then my suggestion is that you try to get this published in a peer reviewed journal. If it's then used widespread, someone else (not you!) will write the Wikipedia article. (You also need to understand you shouldn't really write about your own specific research due to conflict of interest).

I hope that helps. Barney the barney barney (talk) 12:28, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly. You don't need to be affiliated to a university to submit papers. As a first step you would want to do a full literature search to see what other people have had ideas about, and to ensure your own ideas are novel. Maybe that will help you to develop your own ideas. Then find a suitable journal and submit it to them (see what journals similar papers were published in). For the structure of a paper see [1]. Not on Wikipedia though! Barney the barney barney (talk) 17:21, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Claudio Ronco has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. This is not my first article. I wrote a similar article for another scientist and it was ok. I do not understand what is wrong with this one. Claudio Ronco is a Top Scientist in Italy, is a pioneer in his field, he wrote more than hundreds books which are currently used by students at the Universities as well as he published more than 1,700 papers. I wrote facts taken from his CV which are true. Also to prove that I added the citations. If you tell me exactly which part is wrong in your opinion, I will try to fix it, so I'm going to reinstate this page. Thanks. Luca boscolo (talk) 09:30, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Luca boscolo. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Claudio Ronco, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Arduino A Mangoni moved to draftspace

[edit]

It appears that you may have a conflict of interest with the subject of Arduino A Mangoni, and as such you should submit this article to be published through the Articles for Creation process. Before editing the article further, please first disclose on your user page and on the article's Talk page whether you have received money to write this or other articles on Wikipedia, or if you have any other kind of conflict of interest concerning the subject. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. Before submitting, you should make sure that the article is fully compliant with Wikipedia’s neutrality and verifiability policies, as well as our notability guidelines. When you’re ready, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. This process is encouraged, but optional. If you choose not to participate in it, you can remove the AfC template and move the article back to mainspace. Thank you, but your user page disclosure should go on your user page, User:Luca boscolo, not on this talk page. You've also ignored the requirement for paid editors to submit through WP:AFC and have done an improper WP:CUTPASTE move to repost Arduino A Mangoni while circumventing AfC. I'm also concerned that you have created Paola Bonfante and Gaetano Thiene for pay as well, but have neglected to disclose the relationship. signed, Rosguill talk 17:00, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosguill, Many thanks for that. With regards these two tags: I believe they should be removed. Ok, I received a very small amount to put this together from a CV, but it is only the truth supported by citations from reliable and independent sources while for the other, if not, could you tell me exactly where there are peacock words? If not, I believe it should be removed. Thanks for your patience. Luca boscolo (talk) 18:28, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those are to be removed only when an uninvolved editor has read through the article and decides they are no longer needed. Do not ask for them to be removed. Frankly, if you think an article that looks like a CV is a neutral and policy-compliant submission to Wikipedia, you have no business editing here. signed, Rosguill talk 19:15, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Claudio Ronco

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Claudio Ronco for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Paola Bonfante is another of your obviously paid articles. If you do not address the tagged issues and clean it up it cannot be moved to draft again and it will go the same way as Claudio Ronco and Claudio Ronco. In the worst case scenario an administrator might decide to restrict your editing privileges.Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 10:39, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Kudpung I'm trying to comply, I just need to some time to go through all your feedback. Luca boscolo (talk) 11:16, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You've been doing this for 11 years. You're lucky to get any feedback at all. Most volunteers here are unlikely to help a paid editor earn his money. If you are claiming to be a professional Wikipedia editor when accepting a brief from your clients, you either know our rules or you don't, and until you do, your articles will remain promotional pieces until they are finally deleted and your editing privileges are restricted. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:30, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kudpung No, this is my first one. I think here there has been a bit of misunderstanding. I was asked by Paola Bonfanti, which I only know her by her name, to write a page in wikipedia. I agree only because she is a real italian scientist. After the page got published, she wanted to thank me with some money. That's all! And now she is spreading the word to other scientists... Luca boscolo (talk) 11:48, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What I meant was that you've been around on Wikipedia for 11 years so you should know our rules by now. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:50, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Kudpung Well, I created the account 11 years ago, but, basically, I have never used it since I had to create the page for Paola Bonfanti. Anyway, now I started reading your roles, I'll soon comply for the next articles, it will be just a matter of time. I don't mind if you want to delete those or wait a bit so I'll comply. I see now I haven't done them as expected. I'm going to create them again in a proper way using the AFC process. Have a nice day and thanks for your advices. Final paid editing warning

[edit]

Luca, as a paid editor you are here only on our good graces. You are expected to fully comply with all of the instructions at WP:Paid, from the get go. No forgetting to specify who paid you on article talk pages, no forgetting to list paid articles that reviewers haven't specifically called out yet, no endlessly asking volunteer editors for help. If you are unable to meet this standard of behavior, whether due to malice or incompetence, you will lose your editing privileges. Frankly, you've already caused enough trouble to merit a block, and the only reason I haven't done so already is because the articles you've created at least all seem to be for subjects who meet our notability guidelines.
