Congratulations!
Having just seen the news, I wish to extend my best wishes. WikiProject Films is lucky to have you. Kudos! Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 18:04, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
- As you probably gathered, you are elected as one of the coordinators for WikiProject Films. Congratulations! :) First order of business can be found here. A new agenda will be forthcoming. Erik (talk | contribs) 20:42, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
redlinks
A page you created, Australian films of 1993, has red linked every actor appearing in those film. On what assumption is each considered notable? Or is this intended to create the link if it turns out they are. Does appearing in the credits of a film allow us to assume notability. Because it created a link to a different subject, it is not clear whether I should disambiguate the redlink. cygnis insignis 04:43, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi. I split that page out from the main list of Australian films of the 1990s. Quite possibly there are non-notable redlinks in the list, and each entry should probably be trimmed down to 3 or 4 "stars" per film. Lugnuts (talk) 06:56, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, thanks, I missed that note "create/split". You might consider copy/pasting a summary that identifies the edit history of the source of the WP:Split, this is an example of the importance of attribution; they may have good reason to link the name, I wasted your time and my own in discovering if that is the case. cygnis insignis 07:13, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey! I've begun expanding this and will get a DYK out of it eventually. I was wondering if you would be interested in blue linking his films. It is one of those shameful stubs on a major Italian actor you sigh at from time to time.♦ Dr. Blofeld 00:15, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
The most common source for Italian films is Mymovies.it. But for some you might find a New York Times ref etc.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:27, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
It is possible we can try to get them all blue linked by this time next week? I'll start as many as I can also once I've written the article. It would be nice not to have any red links in it! Needs a lot of work to do so though..♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:07, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah and the funny thing is after wat was said I get "assume good faith" branded at me. Yes OK then, I'll take for granted then it was AFD'd out of pure love and affection...♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:57, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Re:Black Tulip
Thanks. A newspaper article about it caught my interest a while back. I guess there'll be more coverage when it gets into theaters. Looks like it was an unusual production. -- JohnWBarber (talk) 19:30, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
New Messages Banner
Hi, I saw your notice about discussing the banner here first. Using the banner to trick others qualifies as a spoof of the MediaWiki interface, which is prohibited by WP:SMI. Thanks, Goodvac (talk) 07:39, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
unmissing
Thanks for listing me among the missing. I am not really gone, I just revisit the real world from time to time. Nice to know I was missed. Researching a rewrite of Frederica Sagor Maas, just did a rewrite of Harriet Nevins. EraserGirl (talk) 22:38, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Moments in Rock and Roll
You remember I said about the greatest moment in rock and roll and "the who" scream. Well heres another one. Turn the speaker up full blast and listen at 3.49. It just makes you wanna be a rock star!!♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:13, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Or is Vai too much of a fret wanker for your liking? Answer me boy.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:23, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
For a long time I've been listening and playing a lot of classical guitar and jazz with a clean tone and developing my knowledge of chordal inversions using a Mel Bay book LOL but the other day I found my Passion and Warfare CD and had to play it. His guitar playing just seemed poles apart from the stuff I've been listening too of late..Its fun shredding occasionally on the guitar but when you listen to a lot of the beautiful classical/jazz sensible guitar playing guys like Vai and Van Halen really do sound like schoolboys. A lot of teens think the faster a guitarist can play, the better... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:53, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
I took a pass at Freddie. I asked User:Red Sunset to swing by and clean up my typos and grammar. But I am sure I committed more heinous acts than just those. There really is only the one source for biographical data and I am suspicious...who remembers exactly everything that happened 70 years earlier?...i can't remember yesterdays breakfast. 8) EraserGirl (talk) 05:35, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello
Sorry for bothering you, but I can't think of anyone else. I'm looking for someone to review Liberation. The article has been 'slightly' expanded by me (the plot section I added is probably too long, but it's 445 minutes of running time). There's also a gigantic cast list, but for good reasons - most of the actors depicted real historical figures, and there are numerous mistakes in other sources (even the IMDb claims that Hardy Krüger played in the movie. The correct guy is an East German called Hans-Hartmut, and so on). If you have some spare time, please check it out. Many thanks, especially for your help in the beginning. Bahavd Gita (talk) 18:57, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Thank you! Bahavd Gita (talk) 13:54, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Hey there, it's me again, sorry for bothering you. There's a problem with my precious Liberation (film series), and I tried Wikipedia HELP but couldn't find anything useful. I've got two links that are too long to fit in the cite web template url space, so I formatted the reference to look like a cite web. Is that acceptable, or maybe there's something to do about it? And I also looked everywhere for free pictures of the poster, but could find none fitting. Here's a link to Flickr, but it's only "all rights reserved". I'm really not sure if it's fine under fair use rationale. Beside those, the article is now pretty much as good as I can make it. Many thanks again. Bahavd Gita (talk) 14:08, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Opinion on Plane Crash Afd.
Hi, unfortunately another plane crashed yesterday in Karachi, and the article was nominated for deletion, your input in the previous discussion was considerable(2010 Karachi plane crash), I appreciate it if you could devote your time to the current discussion. Please review this event here and the afd discussion here Taqi Haider (talk) 06:19, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks mate, and I have left a message on Lunalet's talk page to identify himself. Taqi Haider (talk) 08:08, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Taqi Haider, I am absolutely appalled by your lack of integrity. I appreciate it if you would have some integrity and not notify people known for voting to keep articles about aircrashes. Though your actions do not qualify as WP:CANVASSING, I consider them disruptive and attempts to game the system. Lunalet (talk) 08:12, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Lunalet - you comment is redundant, as I have the article on my watch-list and would have seen the AfD tag anyway. Lugnuts (talk) 08:13, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

- I am notifying people and not trying to game the system, I mentioned my message on the afd page, and here only because Lugnuts is the one who raised the suspicion there. My message on your talk page is was posted before my knowledge of lugnuts suspicion. Taqi Haider (talk) 08:23, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

User Lunalet
Lugnuts, socking is not MMNs usual modus operandi. However, if you have genuine suspicions that Lunalet is a sock, then WP:SPI is probably the way to go. I agree that it is a bit ducky, but it could just as easily be an impersonator. Mjroots (talk) 09:09, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah...I'm neither a sock puppet nor an impersonator. Lunalet (talk) 10:36, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Deaths
Yeah I know. But I'm not surprised this currently bitter spell is killing off a lot of the old people. Nielsen was actually one of my favourites, the way he delivered his lines and his deadpan expressions were the best I've ever seen I think. He is one of those few people who absolutely everybody liked and nobody had a bad word to say about him. That is a sign of a true legend. I am amazed that George Kennedy outlived Nielsen, he looked the sort who would have died of a heartattack 20 years ago. Nielsen was very athletic in his younger years.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:11, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
George Kennedy. Big overweight guy, not the typical sort who lives to very old age. Why wouldn't I be serious? I don't follow, am I missing something here?♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:23, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Now now, I am "shirley" being serious. Sorry, duh didn't get that one...♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:02, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I created some short stubs on the remaining Leslie Nielsen films. Can you fill them out with cast and crew and a source?♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:15, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Kōzaburō Yoshimura
No problem. Thanks for the encouragement. I actually met him a long time ago and he was quite nice, so I kind of felt I should return the favor. But I also have been slowly going through the Japanese film stubs and trying to expand them, especially by at least adding a reference or two. Michitaro (talk) 14:21, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
Dictionary of African filmmakers
Any chance you could use this source to start a load of African filmmakers?♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:51, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
I guess no then....♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:56, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
Yep, an edit conflict a minute after you posted overode the message I think or was the reason why I didn't see it! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:39, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
I suspect that a number of them won't have imdb pages. Where do you live, must be up north surely if you've been smowed in?♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:50, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
I saw your "don't remove red links" so I thought I'd prove a point with Sonia Cole.♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:42, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Yeah I thought the reaction from the Afghans to the film and her was a bit harsh. I think they resent the fact that she's living in wealth in LA. She is very much an Afghan as much as they are so I thought the comment about "she knows nothing about "our" culture" was a bit harsh, she might be out of touch having been away for 20 years though... i do get the impression though she is a bit of a drama queen, but she is a socialite now after all...♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:48, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
Black Tulip Eligibility
I'm new to Wikipedia and just trying to provide some correct information pertaining to the film "Black Tulip". Despite efforts made to change it's Results status to "Pending", several contributors to the page have consistently reverted it back to disqualified even though the source, "Oscar's Foreign-Language Field Sports 65 Entries". the wrap. http://www.thewrap.com/awards/column-post/academys-foreign-language-field-sports-65-entries-21680. Retrieved 2010-10-13." is not a official or legitimate.
When calling the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at (310) 247-3000, the best possible source for this information, they clearly confirm that Black Tulip is eligible as the official entry from Afghanistan and was not disqualified. I welcome any other contributor to call them and find out as well. It's obviously not fair to state that it is disqualified when this is the case.
Who keeps undoing the change from disqualified to pending? Could you please explain how you think this is justified given the situation? This movie is the official entry from Afghanistan, as indicated by AMPAS and no credible evidence to the contrary exists. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.250.12.122 (talk) 03:03, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for replying on the AfD! If it's not deleted I want to bring the article to FA, though it's gonna be hard. And I was actually planning to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey tonight. :D. Xwomanizerx (talk) 14:08, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

Disappearance of Joanna Yeates
I do have some advice regarding your hasty removal of the proposed deletion tag: such proposals have a seven day window to allow new articles to better establish notability. Prematurely removing such tags is counterproductive as it will usually force an AfD vote before more details are available to help develop such articles (especially in criminal investigations). KimChee (talk) 23:30, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
- Not hasty, more common sense. Thanks. Lugnuts (talk) 16:07, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
