Question about un-reviewing article

[edit]

Hello,

You recently un-reviewed an article I marked as reviewed. Could you please give me more information about why this was done?

Thanks, // Posted by larsona (Talk) // 17:36, 15 November 2015 (UTC) Erroneous message was removed. Thanks for the feedback! MarkYabloko 17:41, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please Don't delete or merge my Transurfing of Reality Article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transurfing_of_Reality) at least for now. It is not perfect at the moment but I am still in the process of editing it, plus It is the most detailed and comprehensive article in English about Transurfing of Reality. The is no English Article called Transerfing of Reality, only the very short article called Vadim Zeland. it is also longer and more detailed than the Russian one. Why should it be deleted of all the others? Also, I am doing this as part of our University Wikipedia project, please don't delete it or merge it now, can you at least for now undo this tag for deletion, until I have finished editing the Article. Also just because someone "never heard" of Transurfing, doesn't mean it is not a popular topic, like I said it is the most famous psychological teaching in Russia for the last ten years and in many European countries. Also they said at the same time that "they are not a fan" I don't think this is reason enough to delete or merge my article. It is easy to criticize when they haven't spent all night creating it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by ElenaKomleva (talkcontribs) 00:41, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do not have plans to submit for merging the two articles Transurfing of Reality and Vadim Zeland; That request was made by Thparkth (talk), I believe.
I do appreciate the handwork you have done on the subject, and I think the article on Vadim Zeland should stay in wikipedia for the same reasons that Thparkth (talk) had stated [1], even though Zeland's true popularity is largely misrepresented by his active followers.
My point, however, is that wikipedia should not be used as a platform for propaganda and promotion, especially on subjects like pseudo-science and hoaxes.

Please don't delete my page on Elizabeth Callaghan

[edit]

Hi MarkYabloko I saw the message about deleting the page about Elizabeth Callaghan.

This page should not be speedily deleted because It was written as part of a project called 'Women on Wikipedia' run in female high schools in NSW in association with the ABC and Wendy Zuckerman. The project is to add more articles on Wikipedia about notable women as there are more articles about men on Wikipedia. Two Year 9 students wrote the article and as their teacher supervising them, I had to publish it yesterday as it was due to the Project organiser. I didn't have time to double check their references. Please don't delete the article. Please give us more time to edit the article so that it does not breach copyright. MissT Techie (talk) 21:33, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article Elizabeth Callaghan was a copy & paste article, word for word, from poi-australia.com.au/ [[2]], thus, an obvious copyright violation WP:G12.
Nonetheless, the article speedy deletion has been contested and currently is NOT nominated for such, and you are getting great help from a wonderful editor Zpeopleheart (talk).

Hello Zpeopleheart (talk),
I am sending you this friendly reminder because you have been making many hasty edits that are creating difficulties for other editors, as noted in the many complaints on your talk page above and the one you removed here: [3]
Furthermore, you are again and again, without any explanations or comments, making questionable changes and deleting tags as you did in: Siege of Baghdad (1743) (later was speedy deleted). If you noticed, the author of this article on your own talk page informed you that the article was an error!
I value your help on Wikipedia, and thus my friendly note.

Contesting speedy deletion of Cybera

[edit]

Hi there,

I'd like to contest the speedy deletion tag for the Cybera page and request advice for how to improve it. It is my position that the nature of the Cybera article is substantially similar to those of other research and education networks and partner organizations linked to in the article. Thanks for your help. Openaccessforall (talk) 09:03, 21 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Your article Cybera was deleted recently as (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion), see here: [5]

I also did not know that we should not create new article and use same deleted heading. Thats why i created new article. So, i hope you can pardon me for such a small error.

I want you to read my article and pass it because it is properly based on Wiki standards and shows neutral point of view.

Ambassador lists

[edit]

You seem to be moving lists of ambassadors that were at correct titles before to incorrect titles. What you have now titled as List of ambassadors of Switzerland, for example, was formerly List of ambassadors to Switzerland, which is the correct title because it lists ambassadors from other countries to Switzerland. Please review your page moves, move back any that are now incorrect to the original title, and take more time to look at the page's content before you decide it should be retitled. postdlf (talk) 00:37, 22 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

whats the difference between a page dedicated to an iphone for example and my article?

[edit]

dear markyabloco,

I do not unterstand why my article about a new invention that many people are curious about is markes for speedy deletion but things like an article about iphone and stuff like that are not. I don't even try to sell anything, it's just an objective opinion and explanation of the invention, nothing more. I think compared to actual products that have the main goal to get sold my article isn't like that at all. It is not fair to have it deleted. please rethink your decision.

Dear Mr. Yabloko,

First of all thank you for your work at Wikipedia! Concerning deletion of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lviv_IT_Cluster page. This page should not be speedily deleted because it is a page of a non profit organization that has as its goal to implement the projects that will make Ukraine's IT industry more competitive and as a result strengthen the economy. I am new to wikipedia but this is second time the page of Lviv IT Cluster is deleted. And I just cannot see any reason for it. It's purpose is not advertising by any means. If you seem to be convinced it is, then I would recommend you deleted these pages as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CompTIA https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_Technology_Association_of_America https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_Technology_Association_of_Canada https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Electronics_and_Information_Technology_Industries_Association etc. The other reason for deletion - insignificance, well the editor is quite bias then. There over 15000 people that are members of our association. I hope you find the explanation sufficient and will not delete the page any longer. In fact I would kindly ask the editor to restore the data so as to respect the time I have put into it. We need this page as a reference point for people we invite to our conferences, share information and try to establish contact with.

Respectfully yours, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Roman_Pollovyi — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roman Pollovyi (talkcontribs) 13:59, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Categories

[edit]

Hallo, I noticed that you'd added categories to Dmitry Masleev- you added Category:Russia, Category:Italy, Category:Piano, Category:Pianists.

We don't need "Piano" as well as "Pianists"; I don't see why you thought "Italy" was useful (OK, he had an internship there, but...), and "Russia" is a bit broad. Category:Russian classical pianists seems a better option. There are usually specific categories out there which are much more useful than adding very broad categories like these ones. Lists of ambassadors

[edit]

I made a bunch of changes to the various lists of ambassadors and lists of lists of ambassadors after coming across them via today's PROD log. I have to agree with MSJapan about the lists of one being entirely unnecessary. A list of two is often unnecessary, but to me they seem reasonable in this case because there's such a likelihood that the list will grow. I'm frankly not sure if precedent agrees, so they might wind up at AfD. A couple things to note and a question, though. First, if the content of a list is other lists, it's a "list of lists" and should be named "Lists of x" rather than "List of X". I've started moving some of them. Also, it seems like you may be categorizing/tagging some of them as you would a page about a specific ambassador of a specific ambassadorship.

My question is about the wording "ambassadors of [country]". That seems distinct from "ambassadors to [country]", but it looks like lists of ambassadors to the country are included in some cases. Perhaps more importantly, why not "List of [demonym] ambassadors"? e.g. Lists of Austrian ambassadors rather than Lists of ambassadors of Austria? — Rhododendrites talk \\ 00:31, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Norton Longman

[edit]

Thanks for marking my Thomas Norton Longman page for deletion. To be honest I did not have much to say about Thomas Norton Longman but I think I have discovered possibly the only (un) known portrait of him: a cartoon by Thackeray where he is listed as Mr Shortman and is talking to Dionysius Lardner. It would be more appropriate to upload this as a Wikimedia file and link to it from the main Longman publishers article I think. I was trying to upload it but explaining the provenance and rights got complicated and then I got interrupted and gave up. Not sure if I have the energy to try again. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi MarkYabloko,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

Hello, MarkYabloko. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
