Use of present tense
[edit]Hello, Norvoid.
A belated welcome to Wikipedia. We could really use a hand in the computing area.
After some deliberation the community consensus established that specifications of computer programs must be written using present tense and stative verbs. Basically, when you write "Visual Studio 2012 was an IDE", it beckons the question "Was? What is it now?" You can find more details in WP:COMPNOW.
Best regards,

Deleting citations to our partners awards
[edit]Hi Norvid you contacted me today about removing citations on the Gamesys page. We awarded their Jackpotjoy brand 3 accolades in 2015 and rightly cited the achievement on their page. Why do you see it fit to remove our awards references yet you did not remove EGR reference or the egaming review reference? also if you check the 2010 awards for site of the year, that was also ours and I am going to add the required citation to that bullet point. Do you work for Gamesys are you a partner of their brand or one their subsidiary companies? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Whichbingouk (talk • contribs) 13:59, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- I do not work for Gamesys nor for any of their partners; indeed, I've just removed a giant steaming pile of advertising content from the Gamesys article. Please have a read of Wikipedia:Spam for more information on why linkspamming is not allowed on Wikipedia. Thank you. Norvoid (talk) 14:03, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- NO you've removed awards references - We are the official UK Bingo Awards providers, we awarded gamsys 3 awards this year and you've deleted them? Please explain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Whichbingouk (talk • contribs) 14:44, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Your edits so far have been to add links to your company website, at the articles Gamesys, Gala Coral Group, Online bingo, Betway, Costa Bingo, Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment, 888 Holdings, and The Rank Group. This is spamming masquerading as referencing, and is not allowed on Wikipedia. Please stop. Thanks, Norvoid (talk) 14:49, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

- And you've removed the awards references, Why? Do you have a problem with the awards that we have accorded these brands? Whichbingouk (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:00, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Have you read Wikipedia:Spam yet? Norvoid (talk) 15:04, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Yes I have - how do our awards (professionally respected as the definitive Bingo Awards) constitute spam? --Whichbingouk (talk) 15:26, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Please also read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:SHAREDACCOUNT. Wikipedia is not the place to promote your company and its awards, and you are clearly here for that purpose alone, and not here to improve the encyclopaedia. Norvoid (talk) 15:33, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Some of our partners have suggested we add our awards to their Wiki reference, you are making a wild assumption because I am new. I am simply following a request from some of our Bingo Partners and then I decided to add awards to some other pages whilst I am logged in to save time. We have given over 50 awards in the last 10 years to LOTS of bingo brands and they have suggested we add these to Wikipedia. I am trying to save time by doing these in one go. Have you deleted the EGR awards reference on Gamesys? How is that different?--Whichbingouk (talk) 15:40, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- It's hardly a wild assumption that someone has a conflict of interest, when they edit as "Whichbingouk", call themself "our" and "we", and contribute nothing but links to the WhichBingo website. I clearly will not be able to persuade you to stop merely by pointing out Wikipedia policy to you, so please note that an administrator will block your account, and your website will get added to Wikipedia's spam blacklist, if it keeps being used for spamming. Norvoid (talk) 15:49, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- This is far too childish to even bother with, there are real problems in the world. Our partners wanted us to reference their awards, they assumed we were the right people to add them to wikipedia, seeing as we are the only people who can officially vouch for them. I will tell them to ask somebody else to do it. As they have officially won these awards, who would you suggest is the right person to cite OUR awards on those pages?--Whichbingouk (talk) 15:57, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- You are the right person to write about any other subject, apart from yourself or your company. If you want to help improve the encyclopaedia, there are over five million articles here on the English-language Wikipedia alone, plus many worthwhile subjects which haven't been written about yet. Pick something that you don't have a conflict of interest over, but find interesting, and write about that instead. Thanks, Norvoid (talk) 19:03, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Alltwen RFC
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Alltwen RFC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Liz Read! Talk! 19:46, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
I don't think you understand the essence of this article. Please reconsider Sir/Ma'am
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... (I Know that this can help people who want to know about him, if I'm going to put myself as a normal person who goes to this article, I'm sure i will get a lot of information about him, I'm just having troubles posting a photo, but I'll do something about it, I'm not like any other writer of wiki articles, I'm better. I want to prove it, I hope you would consider this. Because you'd be surprised, If this article would meet a lot of people, and the people who would read it would understand who Jeremy Sosa is,I had a lot of mentors, people who would teach me how to do writing, and I dont't let them down... please consider Sir/Ma'am thank you, from writer to writer, please, I hope you understand) JfeOfficial07 (talk) 17:12, 16 November 2015 (UTC)JfeOfficial07

- Hello Jackpd7. I'm sure it's true that he runs his own news website and blog, that he once helped save some puppies, and that he formerly worked for a political party, but there's nothing in the article to show how he meets the notability guidelines at Wikipedia:Notability (people), including WP:JOURNALIST or WP:POLITICIAN. Wikipedia has certain minimum standards of notability for including an article on any subject, including biographies. Has anybody else written about at length? The reference about the puppy, and the ones about his political involvement, only mention him briefly in passing, and the rest of the references are articles that he's written himself. We need substantial coverage from reliable, secondary sources to establish his notability. Thanks, Norvoid (talk) 10:06, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

- Actually that's not how Wikipedia works: on Wikipedia the burden of proof is on the editor making the claim. Please read WP:VERIFY, and WP:BURDEN. It's particularly important on biographies of living persons: please see WP:BLP for more information on policy for biographies. Norvoid (talk) 18:43, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

- No, I haven't made my mind up, I'm just waiting for a reference that supports what you're saying. You've tried twice to reference the claim with a Google search that doesn't say anything about Akhbar News being the first Hindi site in .News. That's not "proof", no matter who says it. Unreferenced claims about living persons aren't allowed on Wikipedia, and that's nothing to do with what you or I believe to be true, it's simply a matter of policy hammered out over several years by many experienced editors. We might be absolutely certain that something's true, but we're not allowed to write it down here on Wikipedia without verification from a reliable source. Norvoid (talk) 19:36, 20 November 2015 (UTC)

- On the one hand, not everybody is articulate enough to write down how they feel to a friend, a father, and so on, so I can sort of understand the greeting card industry. On the other hand, nothing says "sincerity" quite like pasting "You brought me every single toy that I wanted when I was young. I hope I can return the favor when I grow up by achieving every single goal that you always wanted me to. I love you.", from the "Valuevity Media" website. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Rawail singh has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. JMHamo (talk) 10:07, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

- Who personally attacked you, and when? Norvoid (talk) 19:41, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- If someone deleted your articles, the articles in question probably had violated a guideline. Some of the articles created seemed to be deleted by G4 and G5 previously by Liz. Are you sure someone attacked you @Wrestlinglove:? Adog104 Talk to me 19:47, 5 December 2015 (UTC)
- Also Norvoid see this with Liz. Adog104 Talk to me 20:18, 5 December 2015 (UTC)

- You've made a right mess of things by moving pages around. Now I'm going to have get an admin to fix this. Norvoid (talk) 17:04, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
Just to let you know, I was attempting to swap https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_State_Route_290_(disambiguation) with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_State_Route_290. Cards84664 (talk) 17:08, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
And in the process the actual dis page vanished, these are both redirects now. Cards84664 (talk) 17:10, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |
for taking The Europe Trust to AFD instead of discussion POV issues on article's talk page. This smacks of Wikipedia:Gaming the system.E.M.Gregory (talk) 16:18, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
[edit]Hello, Norvoid. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
The article HashiCorp has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
