Re: Kupono Low

[edit]

Apparently FIFA has cracked down on non-Puerto Ricans playing for Puerto Rico National Team and Low is no longer eligible to play for them. I've talked to him about this and he agrees he should be listed as "USA"  :) Wjarrettc (talk) 15:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Martin Albano Pautasso

[edit]

I saw him play for Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata around 2003-2005, he looked pretty reliable. I haven't really seen anything of him since then, but I imagine that if he's kept himself in good shape in his time without a club, he would fit into American "soccer" pretty well. He has nearly 200 games in Argentine football and a lot of big game experience, he's played against Boca Juniors, River Plate and in the UEFA Champions League. In summary, definately worth a look. re:vandalism

[edit]

Perhaps I did not assume good faith, but it seemed to me that adding the word "nomadic" to someone description who is not, indeed, a nomad was vandalism. I apologize if you took offense.--Thomas.macmillan (talk) 22:51, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ghaly has only played one league game for Derby, the stats in the info boxes only count league games only. Please be sure to enter correct data otherwise any incorrect data counts as vandalism. Thanks. Govvy (talk) 10:58, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Minfo. I'm running a small survey about wikipedian barnstars. If you have the time, I would really appreciate you taking a look and participating. The survey can be found here. Thank you! Bestchai (talk) 01:41, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Featured Topic Drive

By Maxim

The original featured topic drive, initiated by Scorpion0422, has concluded succesfully. National Hockey League awards is now a featured topic, with 24 articles in total. Of them, 20 are featured lists, one is a featured article, and the other three are trophy articles that were too short to become featured lists. Eight users signed up to help out, shown here. The next Featured Topic hasn't been decided upon, and the ideas and organization for it fell apart. If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to share them at WT:HOCKEY.

Notes
  • More editors are needed to help out with the newsletter. The newsletter creator doesn't have an infinite nor perfect supply of ideas, and thus he might omit some interesting news.
  • Portal:Ice hockey is being considered for featured status.
  • Should Chris Pronger have been suspended for more than eight games for stomping on Ryan Kesler? Vote here!
  • Help Patrik Stefan -- one of the greatest NHL draft busts -- become a GA status article.

FC Dallas

[edit]

Dear Minfo,

Last time I did some edits on nl:FC Dallas. I hope you will controll them, because I am not quite sure they are right. Is Marco Ferruzzi only an interim-trainer, or will he stay till the end of the season?

And is there any cooperation between FC Dallas and the TT Pro League? FC Dallas says so, but I cannot find any other source to check if that's right or not.

Greetings from the Dutch Wikipedia,

That FA Cup game isn't notable as the game between the two clubs was not fully-professional. Also Conference National isn't amatuer. Amatuer means they don't get paid. --Jimbo[online] 07:30, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image positioning

[edit]

Yesterday I created a page (Mission manzanita) with a gallery in it. The gallery had only one image, but this is my first Wikipedia article and it was the only way I could figure out (by looking at other pages) how to position the image where I wanted it. It was also my intent to add a couple more photos in the same location. Last night you edited my article and removed the gallery, placing the images so that they are along the right side of the screen. That would have been fine for the single image that I had, but today I added more images and they descended well below the text of the article. So I put the gallery back in place in the description section. In it I placed three descriptive photos. I left a fourth image where you had placed them, along the right side of the screen. I hope this is acceptable. Could you take a look and make sure I did it right? If not, could you explain what I'm doing wrong or help me find info on positioning images?

Thank you, --Brian M. Godfrey

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Minfo! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 333 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Arnie Mausser - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Glenn van Straatum - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 21:56, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Brian Waltrip has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

all biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. GiantSnowman 17:06, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:W Chyzowych.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:W Chyzowych.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:31, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. We're into the last five days of the Women in Red World Contest. There's a new bonus prize of $200 worth of books of your choice to win for creating the most new women biographies between 0:00 on the 26th and 23:59 on 30th November. If you've been contributing to the contest, thank you for your support, we've produced over 2000 articles. If you haven't contributed yet, we would appreciate you taking the time to add entries to our articles achievements list by the end of the month. Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

Notice

The file File:Steak award.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Ashlogo new.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Ashlogo new.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned non-free image File:Buckslogo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Buckslogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:33, 23 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
