License tagging for File:Steve oedekerk.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Steve oedekerk.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:05, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:DB Sweeny.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 02:47, 18 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:DB Sweeny.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The source of the file, http://www.spokeo.com/Steve+Oedekerk+1/Jul+29+2006+Los+Angeles+Ca, does not indicate that it is released under a free license: in fact, beneath the image it is labelled "content ©2015 W.E.N.N. All Rights Reserved." Please read WP:Image use policy#Copyright and licensing; even if there is no copyright notice, very few images that you find on the Internet are released under a free license suitable for Wikipedia. Information icon Hello, I'm Ponyo. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Paul Tibbitt, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:36, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon I noticed that you recently used IMDB as a source for information in a biography article. Please note that per long-standing consensus, IMDb does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. • Ngh93, I will unblock you if you agree to use reliable sources when adding information to biography articles. If you're unsure whether a source meets WP:RS, then you need to discuss the source on the article talk page (or via the reliable sources noticeboard) prior to adding information until you have a better understanding of the requirements. As we discussed previously, website databases such as IMDb do not meet the criteria. Do you agree to these terms?--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 19:38, 26 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:17, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @User:RonBot Sorry about the image upload. I just thought the previous one was rather blurry and small. To be honest, I find these wiki guidelines and rules rather complicated and difficult to understand--especially when in comes to uploading images. I guess I'm just used to uploading new files like on fandom. Well, I looked at the previous image and it didn't seem to have any copyright tags or anything corrupted. Does that mean the better quality version I updated can stay? Or should I upload one with slightly smaller size? Just in case. --Ngh93 (talk) 17:58, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Kaitlyn Robrock, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. With all respect, I think this ban is a bit too excessive and quite unnecessary and leaves me completely heartbroken shocked and baffled. :In all honesty, I thought I was simply correcting an error on the Richard Newman page--i didn't see any sites that didn't include the year 1946. I never have any ill intentions and I am certainly am against any damages or disruptions on this site. :You see I suffer from high functioning autism and it makes me have more difficulty following or understanding certain rules. :For example, I'm still trying to adjust to this site's rather complicated rules (like uploading images with sources). :So could you please allow me one more chance of redemption? This site is very special to me and it helps me express myself. After all, I believe everyone deserves chance of redemption.
