Category:Gas Chromatography
[edit]I started moving articles from the category you created to Category:Gas chromatography. Wikipedia:Naming conventions prefers lowercase words in article and category titles. --Christopherlin 19:28, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Is the Katana a sport-touring motorcycle?
[edit]It probably can be considered either a sportbike or sport-touring. Consider:
- "sport-touring days would be easy on either bike [600 or 750 Katana]"
- --Sport Rider magazine, August 1999 [1]
- "the ideal fusion of sport-bike performance and sport-touring comfort - the Suzuki Katana 600"
- --Suzuki web site [2]
Even Wikipedia's types of motorcycle classifies it as a sport-tourer, though it does have the caveat "debatable".
Brianhe 05:48, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
- You raise a good point. But I suspect it would be better to discuss it over on Talk:sport_touring. I'll start something there, and invite folks over at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Motorcycling to join in.
- Could be a few days before I get the time, however. Your patience is appreciated.Pi3832 10:22, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Work in Progress
[edit]Since the 1970s there has been a trend of increasing power-to-weight ratios of motorcycles in general, and sportbikes especially.

---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1970 | Honda | CB350 | 350 | 36 | 10.3 | [3], [4] |
1975 | Honda | CB750 | 479 | 67 | 14.0 | [5], [6] |
1982 | Suzuki | GSX1100S | 510 | 111 | 21.8 | [7] |
1985 | Suzuki | GSX-R750 | 394 | 106 | 26.9 | [8] |
1992 | Honda | CBR900RR | 408 | 104 | 25.5 | [9] |
1998 | Yamaha | YZF-R1 | 390 | 131 | 33.6 | [10] |
1999 | Suzuki | GSX1300R | 473 | 175 | 37.0 | [11] |
2001 | Suzuki | GSX-R1000 | 374 | 160 | 42.8 | [12] |
2006 | Kawasaki | ZX-10R | 385 | 181 | 47.0 | [13], [14] |
- Data in italics are estimated from available data.
- Power to weight ratio is calculated as horsepower per 100 lbs.
Thanks
[edit]It's great to be noticed. I'm actually heading south tomorrow morning with buddies to go riding. We're gonna trailer south for a day looking for warmth and then tool around for a couple of days. Should be fun. -AndrewDressel 19:10, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Penske shock.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Penske shock.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:33, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Motorcycle Wiki
[edit]Hey Pi3832 Here's an opportunity to put your expertise to work in the area of motorcycles. Cycle Chaos is a Wiki-styled web site that needs help from people who love bikes and can contribute more information and even manufacturers. There's virtually no problems with administrators and it seems free to edit without trouble. As a bike lover, you can offer some content that may be lacking. My user page is: Cycle Chaos, Noles1984 Cheers. Noles1984 (talk) 15:22, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
No content in Category:Vincent Motorcycles
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Vincent Motorcycles, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Vincent Motorcycles has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Vincent Motorcycles, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. NowCommons: File:VF1100S.JPG
[edit]File:VF1100S.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Honda Sabre V4.JPG. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Honda Sabre V4.JPG]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 18:03, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Deletion nomination of Template talk:Visible anchor/doc
[edit]Hi Pi3832, this is a message from an automated bot, regarding Template talk:Visible anchor/doc. You blanked the page and, since you are its sole author, FrescoBot has interpreted it as a request for deletion of the page and asked administrators to satisfy the requests per speedy deletion criterion G7. Next time you want a page that you've created deleted, you can explicitly request the deletion by inserting the text {{db-author}}
. If you didn't want the page deleted, please remove the {{db-author}}
tag from the page and undo your blanking or put some content in the page. Admins are able to recover deleted pages. Please do not contact the bot operator for issues not related with bot's behaviour. To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=FrescoBot}}
somewhere on your talk page. -- FrescoBot (msg) 23:09, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:MarkLMallory.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:MarkLMallory.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hekerui (talk) 16:04, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kay A. Brick
[edit]Hello, Pi3832,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Kay A. Brick, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Sorry
[edit]I didn't see this until after Wikipedia refused to accept all my update to the page, and I hacked my way around that. Maybe wait an hour or two before eliminating new pages!
