Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Mohammad Abdullah (academic). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Professor Mohammad Abdullah (Politician). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Professor Mohammad Abdullah (Politician). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Worldbruce (talk) 14:12, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
Do not edit war
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Mohammad Abdullah (academic). Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 23:33, 3 March 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:
I could be useful as a writer of good articles whenever you need me. In fact I am the original writer to the article Mohammad Abdullah(academic) that is affected by my ignorance of what technicalities Wikipedia set up for amateur writers like me. After all these mistakes made by me finally gave me a view of how I have to deal the thing subsequently; considering that I request to be unblocked; The rest assured that I will not ever interfere to other works regarding the article.I have a set hand in writing biographical things and Wikipedia can make the use of the skill. And I am grateful to see my original lines are there even after huge edits done by the skilled. Besides I am a mediocre published poet in USA who have a hand in writing. Thank you

Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Professor Mohammad Abdullah, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.
The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Professor Mohammad Abdullah, I see that after joining Wikipedia as an editor, you were never welcomed here with one of our templates providing links to our policies and guidelines and where to ask for assistance. I apologise for this, and since you appear to have been working on an article about yourself, have given you the welcome template for editors who have written autobiographies.
Yngvadottir, Could you please tell me how to request for a new user name? I mean I wanna change it into my real name: Rubab Abdullah, instead of Professor Mohammad Abdullah. Enclosed herewith is a poem of mine. For your reading.

Mohammad Abdullah (academic) is undoubtedly notable under our guidelines, as a former MP of Bangladesh. However, the article still needs to be written encyclopedically and based on independent references; it cannot contain memoir details unless they are drawn from accounts in the press or other media. (We do not use either legal documents or the subject's own knowledge as sources.) If you can add further news or book references, please do so. But that is the reason for my removals at the article, and for Drmies' earlier. Thank you for the article! Yngvadottir (talk) 06:29, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Request reason:
I am new as a contributor to the article, I just tried to give all the necessary details that I collected from the genuine sources so as to the article looks solid and authenticated , may be sounding like self advertising, I an unaware of all rules and regulations linked to these. The person in the article namely Mohammad Abdullah(academic) is my father.
Decline reason:
Since you state that you username is that of your father and not your name, you will need to propose a different username. It need not be your real name. To be unblocked, you will need to agree to not edit about your father and tell what subjects you would edit about instead. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 16:40, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- If you are not going to edit, there is no reason to unblock you. You are welcome to request a new username and unblock once you want to edit something. 331dot (talk) 17:11, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Other account?
[edit]Do you have any connection with Aragotton, who worked on the same article under a different title? Yngvadottir (talk) 17:52, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Yes; He is my friend's son... we are very close.I live in Ohio but they live in New York.He started the work and I furnished all other information eventually because Mohammad Abdullah(academic) is my father and it is easier for me to input the all the information.Title was different because for he used my father's nickname initially as the middle name for identification. Then I tried to change the name so that it may look the same as it is in Links and online sources- by adding Professor I tried to change. Please don't delete the Wikipedia Mohammad Abdullah (academic). I beg you.
- A few things. a. if you want to write up some article here, how come you don't know anything about our rules or our guidelines? Isn't that the normal procedure, that you figure out something works before you work in it? b. if you keep getting reverted, esp. those claims like "he was a man of great humility" or whatever it was, why do you think it's a good idea to just ram it back in? c., finally, you can beg, but that won't help. The only thing that helps is reliable secondary sourcing that proves the subject meets our notability guidelines. Further information is found in the message left here earlier by Yngvadottir. Also, begging will not help you in getting unblocked. If you do get unblocked, you will be able to help improve the article by, for instance, providing secondary sources on the article talk page. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 18:47, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
- [The above unsigned post is by the account owner]. We don't need to know your name or anything about you, and I do understand that the technical/jargon aspects of Wikipedia can be challenging; that's why I regret that nobody thought to give you a welcome template at the outset. (I also know that people get into editing in many different ways and that many of us just start doing it rather than reading the manual. I personally started by looking at other articles in edit mode and figuring out the formatting and conventions that way.) Let me also point to the Teahouse, which is a space for new editors to ask for help and advice that is staffed by some long-term editors who are very good at explaining things. Let me emphasise that in my judgement he is notable by our criteria, and since references were provided nobody has suggested deleting the article. The thing is, it's not a LinkedIn page or a personal website. It's an entry in a general encyclopedia. So it has to be brief, neutrally written, and based on verifiable and independent sources. More like a directory entry than you may have thought. I have put in time rewriting it to fit our conventions (including formatting the usable references you had provided) and looking for additional sources precisely because I do believe he merits an article. Does that explanation help? If so, please make a fresh unblock request including your chosen new name. The personal details you put here can be removed from the view of all but administrators if you so desire. Yngvadottir (talk) 19:16, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Well, why I asked you to search my name on google is for making you sure that I am not Professor Mohammad Abdullah, but his daughter. The user ID created by me is just to have an article on his name who contributed a hell lot for the country but getting unnoticed and into oblivion. Initiatives to open one was a tough task for me.I asked my friend's son to help me out , initially he did but he is a student going to college could not make time to do the whole. So I took the job on my shoulder for the completion.
I have no expectations at the moment, I will accept the way you edit the things. About the "citation needed" I have to say it is truly called FCIS(Chartered Secretary), no doubt about it .If you need to see the certificate I can provide you by uploading that.
- Drmies marked that as needing a citation, not me. I looked up the organisation but they don't list him; probably his membership lapsed. That's the kind of thing that's needed, a listing on their site. And for the elections, more news coverage and/or results listings like the archived one I found at the page for the constituency (which may be what you were thinking of when you footnoted the constituency page, but we can't use Wikipedia itself as a reference). I have no doubt that FCIS is or was what it's called, although they have changed their name and terminology somewhat. Yngvadottir (talk) 23:17, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry, but no, I'm not interested in a certificate or a listing of this or that--the entire paragraph is unsourced, not just that degree. The entire section is unverified. Yngvadottir is right in that the person is notable by our standards (if it is true that he was a member of parliament) so it is not like we're trying to get it deleted: rather the opposite. But we cannot have articles with so much unverified information. Drmies (talk) 00:10, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- In the unlikely event an administrator wants to unblock this user, as the blocking administrator, I would object to an unblock. I have seen nothing the user has done either before or after she was blocked that demonstrates she would be an asset to this project.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:59, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Rubab Abdullah, the only legitimate edits you can make to this page are to discuss your block or make a reasonable unblock request. You cannot suggest changes to your father's article. Whether they are good changes is immaterial. I have there reverted your recent edits. Please don't do it again, or you risk losing access to this page. Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:04, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Academic Career
[edit]Wikipedia wrote in academic career in the article Mohammad ,Abdullah ( academic), after returning to Bangladesh he taught in degree colleges . It is a wrong statement... he taught in degree colleges in his early career . After returning to Bangladesh, he taught in Dhaka University. Professor Mohammad Abdullah (talk) 00:37, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Fixed? Sorry, in the absence of dates I made a wrong inference. Yngvadottir (talk) 01:33, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Yes Fixed , Thanks , Dear.

Dear all, unknowingly I reverted your works considering these some technical changes that costs me a lot. It happens to a person who is unskilled of what she tries to do.After this, I might not take part in any of your discussions as I am not licensed to edit, not sure when to get editing right back to edit things except for my father's article. Just sharing two things just for your see. Please please don't take these as my suggestions to apply in your work ,only these could be seen as certain evidence that can help you for further works.
Goodbye, God bless you all.

About Early Life : Mohammad Abdullah (academic)
[edit]Dear Editor, Please write down His father, late Alhaj Nawab Ali(Gazi).
Use “late” because his father died a long time ago .
Please do the needful.
Thanks . Professor Mohammad Abdullah (talk) 15:16, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
- Please do not suggest edits on this page; while you are blocked, the only legitimate use of this page is to request to be unblocked. 331dot (talk) 15:20, 10 March 2019 (UTC)
Unsolicited advice
[edit]Professor Mohammad Abdullah: I am not an administrator (I used to be, but that was a long time ago). Several others who have advised you on this page are: Bbb23 (who blocked you and advises against unblocking you), Drmies, 331dot ... and I may be forgetting one or two. (I'm not pinging anybody because I don't want to bother them.) But I received your messages on Commons, including seeing what you put on my user page there by mistake.
We now use the same user name on every Wikimedia project; the accounts are connected and name changing is done centrally. So you can't have different user names here and on Commons. This is your home wiki (you started here first), so it's here you need to apply to have it changed. Either stick with the account name you proposed above, or modify your latest unblock request to include that you instead want to change to the name you mentioned on Commons. (Think hard about whether you want to use your real name, or even reveal it on-wiki; are there any privacy concerns? There's some advice here.)
You have several open unblock requests. Read the advice here, linked in your block notice, if you haven't already. Admins can see that you have an open unblock request; there's a category for it. I don't advise jumping to the UTRS system as you did before; when you do that, admins leave it to that team. Concentrate on making sure you understand why you were blocked and can explain how you will avoid having the same problems in the future. Very often, an admin will decline an unblock request while asking you a question to answer in your next request; watch out for that, it's a helpful hint.
Meanwhile, I'm sorry, but you don't understand copyright as regards images, and it's particularly important on Commons, where all images must be absolutely free for anyone to use in any way (including selling). And remember also what I wrote above about "brief, neutrally written"; encyclopedia style is very dry and terse compared to other biographical writing. For example, we don't use "late" for people who have died for the same reason we avoid time words like "recently" and "currently": because the reader may read the text at any time, including when you and I have been dead for 50 years or more. I know, it all takes some getting used to.
I value your wanting to help us out on the project, so I'm butting in here. I hope it helps; but now I have to go back to work, I'm afraid! Yngvadottir (talk) 12:44, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
About the photo and other issues
[edit]Dear ; Sigh !Really donno what to say in view of everything. Keep the photo as secondary.jpg title because it supports the information of his working as a teacher in a school and again it could be used by anyone as supporting my father’s image and we have a negative roll of it , very old negative and big size .
I was asked to discuss over my unblock in a talk page , this is what I did . Painfully to mention my IP address has been blocked which is used by my other family members . I asked them to check theirs , they all said they all are blocked although they are not responsible for my mistake I made ; so humiliating for me .
I don’t want to change the name of my user ID anymore because let it be what it is . I could not recognize the difference between USER ID and article title initially. I thought I could start a writing on him under the ID with original name .If I were aware of it I would have opened an ID in my name . Anyways, all ends in a disaster. Still I am happy that there is Wikipedia in my father’s name.
Please dear ; keep the photo and let it be used as the way it is originally created . Just change it to Secondary. jpg if possible. It has been used publicly in a book in Bangladesh. If you want I can send you a proof . Professor Mohammad Abdullah (talk) 11:03, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, blocks usually extend to the IP. I'm afraid the admins are requiring you to change your user name, last I saw. I suspect what they meant is focus on getting unblocked here, on this page. Don't give up!
- Regarding the photo, here is where you need to put your argument—the "its entry" link in the template on your Commons talk page. That goes for the other file nominated for deletion (the newspaper clipping) too. Yngvadottir (talk) 12:28, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
- What's the title and author of the book? When was it published and by what company? The book can be cited for the fact he worked at the school, and possibly other things about his and others' careers, depending on what it's about. There are other Wikipedians who can read Bengali; foreign-language sources are only a problem to the extent that not every editor can read the information and help add it to the article.
- You are not supposed to do anything here except appeal your block. So I will stop there. But things like books including information on your father are of course potentially usable sources. (Unless it's a self-published family history or something.) Yngvadottir (talk) 16:47, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Dear ,A journalist wrote a book on my father’s life in Bengali , he took some photos from my father (related to his works and life) to use in the book and it is published from his publishing house . I don’t know if it has any online link or not ( may be no online link). It is such an old photo,I don’t think the copyright issue was there.
The book’s name is Alokita Zibon Professor Mohammad Abdullah By Alam Ibne Hye , Published by Alokitobangla Prokashona O Gobosana. First published; March,2018 .
Anyways, if you think it may cause complications you can nominate it as deletion and drop off .
- @Professor Mohammad Abdullah, you have I believe five pending unblock requests on this page, some of which are duplicates. At the same time you keep bouncing around about issues that are wholly irrelevant to your block, unfortunately encouraged by Yngvadottir. In my view, all you have done post-block is prove that you would not be an asset to Wikipedia and, related, you are not competent to edit Wikipedia. That said, you must at least clean up this page, meaning eliminate all pending (unreviewed) unblock requests and make just one unblock request - or none, that's up to you. If you can't do that, I will revoke your access to this page.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:11, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Ok Dear Bbb23, I am withdrawing all my requests to be unblocked. Keep me blocked for an indefinite time as you wish . I will be only happy if you lift the block on IP address because it is used by other members of my family . Thank you.
- We have no way of knowing if it is you or your other family members sitting at the computer; it could be considered meatpuppetry. 331dot (talk) 18:27, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
Sigh! Dear 331dot, I gave up. Seriously, I am truly exhausted now. I let my father's Wikipedia live but I retreat. Till date I strived for a photo for being considered to keep in external link, that is it . No more expectation survives for me. I tried to remove most of my requests that I did, hopefully did those properly.
- I'm sorry, but you cannot remove declined requests while you are blocked. If you want to remove them, you need to be unblocked first. 331dot (talk) 18:54, 18 March 2019 (UTC)
