Autopatrolled

Hi Reading Beans. After looking through quite a few of your creations today, I believe they will benefit from review at NPR; essentially all of the pages I checked had issues with unverifiable content, unsourced content about living people, and inappropriate use of primary source material. I am therefore removing the Autopatrolled flag from your account. As this does not directly impact your ability to edit, I hope you will take it in your stride, but if you would prefer I will ask for review of this action at WP:AN. Courtesy ping to Joe Roe who assigned this userright. Regards, Vanamonde93 (talk) 11:39, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

@Vanamonde93: Could you elaborate? I very quickly checked Reading Beans' last ten creations and only one had a cleanup tag (for notability). You should note that Reading Beans is also a (highly active) new page reviewer themselves. – Joe (talk) 12:08, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
@Joe Roe: Sure; the examples I checked were [1], [2], [3] (related discussion), [4], and [5]. There's also this discussion, which I was not involved in. The only other page I checked source-to-text integrity on was Adelola Adeloye, where I found nothing of concern, but that's because the article is copied from a PD source. The articles are not tagged because I removed a lot of the unsourced content I found. If you would like me to take this to AN I will, but this is far more issues than I'm comfortable seeing in articles that are supposed to not receive further scrutiny. I'm well aware Reading Beans is a prolific reviewer. I searched through a good many reviews and didn't find anything problematic, so I was going to let that be for the moment. Vanamonde93 (talk) 13:25, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
I try to avoid drama as much as possible for my mental health, so, I’m good with others checking my creations till I hit the requirements for autopatrol. Most of the problems found by Vana was as a result of mental tasking where I forgot to add a source when trying to expand an article. Adelola Adeloye was a free and I added a tag to the source. I would request a review of my creations in the next 6 months and I also request that my NPR rights be removed if my reviews are becoming problematic. Let’s keep the collaborative spirit alive. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 13:47, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
If there are problems with a user's creations that are significant for autopatrolled to be pulled, I don't think it makes sense to allow them to review the creations of other users. The issues Vanamonde93 found are relatively minor, but the discussion with Praxidicae—about clearly-fabricated sources on a BLP—is extremely concerning. It took place a month after I assigned Reading Beans autopatrolled and NPR, otherwise I wouldn't have done either. Also, as you'll remember Reading Beans, but Vanamonde has perhaps missed, I have found problems with your reviewing, as has have several others on this talk page. I've therefore reluctantly removed your new page reviewer right. I'm sorry, you've been a huge help at NPP, but there have just been too many issues. – Joe (talk) 17:28, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
WP:DRAFTIFY is an essay. Anyways, I have no objections whatsoever. Wish y’all the best of luck! Happy new year.
PS: I won’t reply to anything on this thread as I consider this closed. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 17:43, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
Sorry to butt in, especially after RB has said they won't be replying, but I happened to look at the Adelola Adeloye article linked above and it's not copied from a PD source. The source is under a noncommercial license, which is not compatible with Wikipedia's licensing. Unfortunately this makes the article a copyright violation and I will be deleting it under G12. Based on this alone I would endorse the removal of autopatrolled. Spicy (talk) 21:04, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

The page Adelola Adeloye has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done for the following reason:

WP:G12: unambiguous copyright infringement of https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6871196/, which is CC-BY-NC 3.0

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. G7 deletions

I'm posting here in response to this because I don't want the conversation to get lost in the history of an article talk page. I recognize that you are feeling put upon at the moment, and that's understandable. But I would like you to recognize that the edits I made to your articles were to make them future-proof, and to preserve their value to Wikipedia. I contacted you two days ago because I recognized the value of the articles you wrote; I still do. I would much prefer that you look through the content you have written and double check your sources, after a break if necessary. If you still wish for the pages you wrote to be deleted, you could tag them for speedy deletion, but please remember that it may be declined if a reviewing admin doesn't believe it was requested in good faith, or if any other editor has contributed substantially to the page. I would personally prefer that you not place any tags. Vanamonde93 (talk) 06:49, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

A barnstar for you

The Original Barnstar
Hi Reading Beans, firstly a very happy new year to you... and secondly, just to say I have no idea of the circumstances that led to some of the threads above, and the recent drama concerning yourself... but despite what's happened I'd like to urge you not to feel downcast, to thank you for your service to Wikipedia and giving your time to the project. I have always found you a polite and conscientious editor when discussing requested moves and other issues. And with a commitment to improve African content, that's something very dear to my heart. So with that in mind I'm sorry to see that you've deleted your user page and considering leaving us for a while, but your own personal needs always come first and if you need to take some time out I wish you all the best and hope it is fruitful. Beyond that, I hope that you will not be leaving the project for good. We need committed people around, and although clearly you have made some mistakes, you can always learn from them and hopefully in time build back up to the full level of trust from the community... you're still relatively new to the project so there's much you can learn and all of us have made errors at times in our tenure on the 'pedia. Wishing you all the best again, and do let me know if there's anything I can assist you with.  — Amakuru (talk) 23:29, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
Oh, Amakuru, thank you for these kind words. I thought of leaving but no one would be able to fill in what I do (we all are unique). Your words brought me back TBH and I’m planning on engaging on a #1day1article for the whole of 2024. Sadly, I’ve only been able to write An Unusual Grief (a stub) and The Woman Next Door (novel). Hopefully as we progress I would be able to pay for my laziness. Thank you for being kind. Best, Reading Beans (talk) 01:19, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Abisola Omolade moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Abisola Omolade. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ... discospinster talk 00:38, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Need you thoughts on article.

Please contribute to the discussion on Maria Rusalenko page I have made. It will matter a lot.

Hello Pfomma and thanks for reaching out and creating an article. I am unfit to review articles at this time and would recommend you wait for a reviewer to get to it. I also suggest you move it to DJ Ira as it seems to be her popular name. If you need more help, visit the teahouse. Best, Reading Beans 09:36, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
