External link
Hello, you just removed a link I added to Rwandan genocide denial because it was an external link. However, I was trying to add it as a citation to the body of the article to better back up what the article was saying. But I don't know how to add a proper citation so I did it in the form of a normal url link. How should I add this back properly? 86.130.142.238 (talk) 01:20, 11 June 2021 (UTC)
iPad OS - EverythingTechPro
On iPad OS , it is part of the Developer Beta. Sorry if I shouldn’t of added it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EverythingTechPro (talk • contribs) 17:48, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
- EverythingTechPro, generally any piece of information added to Wikipedia must be accompanied by an citation. Obviously there is tons of stuff that gets through, but please try to add sources for anything you are adding. See WP:RS and WP:CITE for some of the fundamentals. {{u|SamStrongTalks}} (Talk) 17:55, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
Ventus (Wireless Company)
I was trying to add these four links to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ventus_(wireless_company) and was denied.
https://www.atmia.com/showrooms/ventus/1181/ https://www.ventusgns.com/blog/our-blog-1/post/4g-and-5g-coverage-maps-optimize-cell-coverage-for-business-networks-70 https://www.ventusgns.com/page/hardware#ventustechnologies https://www.ventusgns.com/page/whyventus
Why were these denied? What can I do to get these added? Thank you.

- @MediaBoomInfo: You appear to be adding those links for spam purposes. Generally, external links are forbidden inside the body of an article and only limited numbers should be in the footer sections. Please review these policies and let me know if you have questions. Miss Idaho pageant
Here...if you are so dearly concerned over the Miss Idaho pageant on this website, then why did you not include her death news and insert her age (18) when she competed in 1952?
YOU WANT PROOF of this that I posted a mere six or so minutes after I posted it....
First female judge in Idaho's 5th Judicial District and appeared on the 1985 Miss America telecast. ZoeAnn Warberg Shaub died at 83 on Sept. 13, 2017 as result of a car accident in rural Jackpot, Nevada.
HERE.....IS THIS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU....HOW ABOUT FIRST DOING A BASIC GOOGLE SEARCH OF YOUR OWN BEFORE YOU JUST DELETE MY INFO...ONLY FIVE MINUTES AFTER I POSTED HER DEATH INFO..LIKE OVER THREE YEARS SINCE SHE PASSED...NO ONE ELSE PUT IT ON HERE......ASK BEFORE YOU DELETE...AND YOU WILL FIND THIS:
http://magicvalley.com/news/local/once-the-youngest-judge-in-idaho-zoeann-shaub-dead-at-83/article_0623d3aa-088b-5ae6-99b3-cd0452d7aab3.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 35.130.64.230 (talk)

Brett Kavanaugh
I didn't finish. This seems pretty important the way it has been described.
===Compensation of college athletes===
In his opinion on NCAA v. Alston in June 2021, in which the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that college sports were not exempt from antitrust law, Kavanaugh called the NCAA "a massive money-raising enterprise on the backs of student athletes who are not fairly compensated." No one else, he said, could "not to pay workers a fair market rate on the theory that their product is defined by not paying their workers a fair market rate." He said there were "serious questions" about other rules on compensation.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vchimpanzee (talk • contribs) 21:21, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Vchimpanzee: Totally agree that is a topic worth covering in the article. I just reverted because what was there in your edit appeared to be an editing error, just a random section header with nothing else that I saw. Happy to work with you to add something along those limes. SamStrongTalks (talk) 21:31, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 21:40, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- Vchimpanzee, made a small language tweak. Open to changing it back or to something else. SamStrongTalks (talk) 22:07, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- The newspaper article referred to it as his opinion, as opposed to the opinion of the Court. I'm not sure this is made clear with the new language. Also, the case was called "NCAA", although it might have been correct the way you did it.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 22:44, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Vchimpanzee: Tweaked it again after checking the sources again, misread them first time, my bad. I did check the "NCAA" vs spelling it out and at least on SCOTUS's website they spelled it out, as is the article here. Not opposed to abbreviation, just figured we should start there. I believe the question needed to be raised. I did not ask it myself, even though I had it in the back of my mind, because I thought it was a big deal, but now that you did, it just seem the simple and right thing to do. I hope you will continue to contribute. Dominic Mayers (talk) 02:40, 17 June 2021 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – July 2021
News and updates for administrators from the past month (June 2021).
Interface administrator changes
|
|
- Consensus has been reached to delete all books in the book namespace. There was rough consensus that the deleted books should still be available on request at WP:REFUND even after the namespace is removed.
- An RfC is open to discuss the next steps following a trial which automatically applied pending changes to TFAs.
- IP addresses of unregistered users are to be hidden from everyone. There is a rough draft of how IP addresses may be shown to users who need to see them. This currently details allowing administrators, checkusers, stewards and those with a new usergroup to view the full IP address of unregistered users. Editors with at least 500 edits and an account over a year old will be able to see all but the end of the IP address in the proposal. The ability to see the IP addresses hidden behind the mask would be dependent on agreeing to not share the parts of the IP address they can see with those who do not have access to the same information. Accessing part of or the full IP address of a masked editor would also be logged. Comments on the draft are being welcomed at the talk page.
- The community authorised COVID-19 general sanctions have been superseded by the COVID-19 discretionary sanctions following a motion at a case request. Alerts given and sanctions placed under the community authorised general sanctions are now considered alerts for and sanctions under the new discretionary sanctions.

What constitutes significant coverage?
I'm a new wiki author. Can you please help me understand why the Financial Times and Fortune magazine do not show significant coverage for the new draft I was working on (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:QuantumBlack)? I understand that this topic has been rejected, but I want to learn for future topics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Weissercn (talk • contribs) 21:08, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Weissercn: the FT article appears to mostly be an interview spliced with some commentary and the Fortune article is about McKinsey, only mentioning QuantumBlack as part of their overall strategy. Also a declined draft isn’t the end, if you can find sources that show notability according to Wikipedia’s notability rules for organizations I or others would be more than happy to review again.
- Does that help? :) SamStrongTalks (talk) 22:10, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- @SamStrongTalks:. Thank you for your kind explanation and all the best.
Request on 19:52:44, 2 July 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Tmluser
I believe Transactional Machine LEarning has a reliable source: @SamStrongTalks:
https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-1-4842-7023-3_2
Tmluser (talk) 19:52, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
- @Tmluser: That source is useless for establishing notability or as a reliable source since it was written by the person who invented the subject of the article. The sources have to be disconnected from the subject. So not interviews with the creators or project team, nothing written by the creator or project team, nothing published by their employers, etc. SamStrongTalks (talk) 21:12, 2 July 2021 (UTC)

News and updates for administrators from the past month (September 2021).
- Following an RfC, extended confirmed protection may be used preemptively on certain high-risk templates.
- Following a discussion at the Village Pump, there is consensus to treat discord logs the same as IRC logs. This means that discord logs will be oversighted if posted onwiki.
- DiscussionTools has superseded Enterprisey's reply-link script. Editors may switch using the "Discussion tools" checkbox under Preferences → Beta features.
- A motion has standardised the 500/30 (extended confirmed) restrictions placed by the Arbitration Committee. The standardised restriction is now listed in the Arbitration Committee's procedures.
- Following the closure of the Iranian politics case, standard discretionary sanctions are authorized for all edits about, and all pages related to, post-1978 Iranian politics, broadly construed.
- The Arbitration Committee encourages uninvolved administrators to use the discretionary sanctions procedure in topic areas where it is authorised to facilitate consensus in RfCs. This includes, but is not limited to, enforcing sectioned comments, word/diff limits and moratoriums on a particular topic from being brought in an RfC for up to a year.
- Editors have approved expanding the trial of Growth Features from 2% of new accounts to 25%, and the share of newcomers getting mentorship from 2% to 5%. Experienced editors are invited to add themselves to the mentor list.

Help with my archives again!...
Hello Sam,
You helped me create my Archive 1 a while ago. Now I was trying to create my Archive 2 by myself but I created only a mess. Can you look at what I did and fix it? Thank you, warshy (¥¥) 16:43, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
- Basically, my question is: how do you create a new file under my User Talk that is called "Archive 2". I tried different ways, and the file was created, but I cannot see it under my User Talk... Thank you, warshy (¥¥) 17:22, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
- Well, after going around in circles for some 2 hours, I finally figured it out. I mean, I don't really know how I first created the file (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Warshy/Archive_2), but once it was there I finally figured out how to make it appear on my own talk page menu. So I am all set now, thank you. I just don't really know what to do with an additional redirect file (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Archive_2&redirect=no) that was created in the process. Maybe you know how to get rid of it? Thank you again, warshy (¥¥) 18:46, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
