Electron density contributions

[edit]

Hello, Samsiq. I have removed your recent addition to Valence electron because of several serious issues that need to be addressed:

  1. The whole section you added reads as figure caption. This may be suitable for a journal article, but not for an encyclopedia.
  2. The placement as the first section is also problematic. Together with your only interest in adding this material to en.wiki articles (1, 2) it points to a possible conflict of interest and WP:REFSPAM. Are you one of the authors of the cited study, or anyhow connected with the authors?
  3. The electron counts per orbital were in both articles wrong: sp2 hybrid orbitals need 1+2 electrons.
  4. Not much is known about the technique. How is the cross-section of graphite obtained? How deep does the beam penetrate? How many atoms and bonds are imaged in every pixel? Parts of your contribution are unreferenced, is this WP:OR?
  5. There are few other experimental methods that can visualize valence electrons in a material. Your addition is based on a primary source, so it is hard to judge its notability. Do you know of any secondary sources that can help us establish its importance and notability.

Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Graphite. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 14:50, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Wikipedia needs secondary refs and to focus on mainstream ideas, especially for articles on topics popular with lay readers. I suspect WP:REFSPAM is also important for you to read. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
