Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Shrutibondal, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Meri Pyaari Bindu have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 13:16, 2 May 2017 (UTC)
The article Foam Home has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Lacks notability. Sources are blogs / wordpress sites, and advertorials, not neutral, objective articles from reliable, independent sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 08:15, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Foam Home
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Foam Home, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Shrutibondal. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Foam Home, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:47, 11 July 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Shrutibondal. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Symphony Limited, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Shrutibondal. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Shrutibondal|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Daiyusha (talk) 14:52, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Shrutibondal, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Shrutibondal|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Daiyusha (talk) 08:27, 4 March 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:
- Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
- State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
- Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:
I have not added any advertising content. Anand Parthasarathy is my uncle and I am helping him set up his wikipedia page. All the content has been taken from various news sources. Please unblock my account. I am not even getting paid for this. However, with him being my uncle if I still have to add as Paid content I am happy to do so.Shrutibondal (talk) 07:55, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
Decline reason:
For one thing, people do not have "Wikipedia pages" about themselves that they own and control; Wikipedia has articles written by independent editors, that the subject does not have control over. You don't have to add "advertising content" to be editing promotionally, as Wikipedia is not for merely telling about someone and what they do; Wikipedia is for summarizing what independent reliable sources state about subjects that meet the special Wikipedit definition of notability.I cannot say why I know this but it's pretty clear that you are a paid editor. We don't know when you are "on the clock" or "off the clock", so if you are helping your uncle out of the goodness of your heart, you will need to convince us of that and tell if you have made any other paid edits and if you intend to do so in the future. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:08, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

How do I resolve the conflict of interest if my account is blocked? Shrutibondal (talk) 06:14, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that
- the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
- the block is no longer necessary because you
- understand what you have been blocked for,
- will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
- will make useful contributions instead.
Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 13:51, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

What we are telling you is that we won't unblock you to just make conflict of interest related edits at this time. If there's anything that you want to edit about for which you have no paid editing relationship or conflict of interest, please tell what those edits might be. 331dot (talk) 09:51, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
I will remove the Early life, some content from Career - Engineering & Career Journalism and also Directorships & consultancies. Will only add content for which I have notable citation links from Financial Express, Polestar foundation.org etc. Would that work? Shrutibondal (talk) 06:45, 18 March 2021 (UTC)
- I suggest that you listen to what we are telling you or the next administrator to review your request may remove your access to this page. If your only interest here is to make edits related to your conflict of interest, there is nothing more to do here. 331dot (talk) 15:11, 19 March 2021 (UTC)

Request you to unblock me. I understand that I did not follow the guidelines. I didn't realise I was adding paid content. Moving forward I assure you that I will not add any promotional content, will follow every guideline and not cause any damage or disruption to the rules and policies of Wikipedia. I will only make useful and factual additions and contribution. Shrutibondal (talk) 09:03, 19 July 2021 (UTC)

- Your unblock request still does not seem to understand that not merely will you not be allowed to make promotional edits (no-one is allowed to do that), any unblock would be accompanied by an ongoing prohibition against any paid editing. Do you understand that? And what fields which you don't have any conflict of interest in are you interested in editing? Nosebagbear (talk) 11:06, 20 July 2021 (UTC)
Shrutibondal (talk) 11:05, 11 August 2021 (UTC)Dear team, I understand that I have been at fault and I will ensure to not make any paid edits henceforth. In fact I will not edit anything from my end.
