Hi. I've removed the AFD notice you placed on this article, as you did not specify why you believe the article should be deleted. If you like, I can complete the nomination on your behalf if you give me that rationale, or you can go to WP:AFDHOWTO and follow the steps there. Thanks! How to add references

[edit]

Hello Snigdhasinghsweet, I'd like to show you how to add references correctly.

1. Have a look at the Editor. At the top you have toolbar and on top right you have a "Cite" button. Click on it. 2. Now a second toolbar pops up where we have a "Templates" combobox. Click on it. 3. Now you have 4 options of material types to choose from. When you click one of them fill the details correctly and when finished click "insert" 4. Try some test citations in your sandbox Regards,--Dravidianhero (talk) 20:25, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

[edit]

Hey Snigdha! :)

I am Noopur, a contributor from Delhi. I noticed your active contributions to Viswaroopam and was thrilled to see your userpage. I work with the Centre for Internet & Society to promote Wikipedia in India. Just wanted to connect with you and see if we could do a workshop in your college to get more Wikipedia contributors. You can write on my talk page or email me at noopur@cis-india.org. Really look forward to connecting with you! Noopur28 (talk)

Ur edits on the article may be good, but u seem to have removed some key information, like it's censor certificate. BTW, i think u know that wikipedia articles must be written from a neutral point of view, which u don't seem to have maintained. ---- Kailash29792 (talk) 11:43, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bihta, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Maithili (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:Googlejagjit.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Googlejagjit.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 13:40, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have speedily deleted the image. Just because you have taken a screenshot of the website, it doesn't mean that you hold copyright to it and can upload it under a GFDL and CC-BY-SA licenses. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 06:07, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, but the article doesn't say that her death sparked massive protests like the gang rapes in India (let alone provide any references towards it). I have moved it into your user space (User:Snigdhasinghsweet/Anene Booysen) as a draft. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 06:07, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your box office figures, as it's unencyclopedic to write every days collection. This is not a newspaper.--Dravidianhero (talk) 16:16, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The IBTimes source quotes chennaionline and chennaionline says "Kamal Hassan tweeted in response to Rahul bose's Tweet". Snigdhasinghsweet, please stop copying text from other websites into Wikipedia. In this edit, for example, you copied the first sentence from a ZeeNews article, deleting only the words "actor" and "his debut Bollywood film". When you copy non-free text and make only trivial changes to it, this is known as "close paraphrasing" and is a kind of copyright infringement. All text you contribute here must be either freely licensed or else written entirely in your own words. Please read Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing for an introduction to close paraphrasing and how you can avoid it. I would like to ask that you confirm here that you have read and understand that page and also our official policy on copyrights. If you don't, and you continue to copy and paste phrases and sentences from other sources, you will likely be blocked from editing Wikipedia very soon. —Psychonaut (talk) 17:21, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there Snigdhasinghsweet. I note you're still copying phrases or sentences from other websites into Wikipedia with little or no change. Here's one example. Could you please do as I suggest and confirm here that you've read and understand Wikipedia:Copyrights and Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing? —Psychonaut (talk) 20:30, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop spamming

[edit]

Hello, I'm TheRedPenOfDoom. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Special 26, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:06, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

the reinsertion of the external links is indeed inappropriate spamming we are not creating social media walls or link farms - external links need to be justified by having encyclopedic content for users. And while rediff is generally a reliable source, the insertion claims sourced only to a user generated picture lacks any encyclopedic content, and when the photo is solely about hawking a product, that also seems like spam to me. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 11:40, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Filmfail Awards requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
