Future films
[edit]I was following the notability guidelines for future films and the future films department's process in addressing that project. Films that are in development aren't guaranteed to be actually produced. I think it would be a good idea to mention 2012 on Emmerich's page in an "Upcoming films" section, along with The Fantastic Voyage, to which he is also attached. You could specify the redirect for 2012 (film) to that particular section. Here are some examples of redirected film articles because they haven't started production: Spider-Man 4, Jurassic Park IV, Shantaram (film), Logan's Run (2010 film), and Fahrenheit 451 (2009 film). (You can see how some of them have been in development for a very long time.) Let me know if you have any questions! —Erik (talk • contrib) - 16:52, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- Also, I wanted to let you know, that it's not appropriate to have non-free images on user pages, so Old Gregg.jpg should be removed. You can read about this here. Just wanted to give you the heads-up. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 17:07, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- No, post-production comes after production, which is filming itself. Writing a script is part of the development stage of a film, which is the very first stage of the production cycle. Writing a script does not guarantee at all that the film would be made, hence why there is a threshold at WP:NFF. If you look at the examples I gave, scripts were written but have not produced into films after a number of years. There is zero guarantee that 2012 will begin filming -- if it does, the article can be recreated. We don't keep film articles on the off-chance that there will be the normal components of a film article -- plot, cast, production, reception, etc. As I've linked you, the process is to redirect and merge a project in development. If it enters production, then an article can exist for it because we know that all the components will exist down the road. By the way, the image does need to be removed, no question about it. I just wanted to let you know so you could remove the image yourself. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 23:17, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- No problem; you had a good start with the article. If filming begins, all you have to do is revert the redirect and build on the revision you made in the first place. If you need any help, let me know. I have Google Alerts set up to fetch headlines for the film. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 00:50, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Absolutely! You're welcome to ask me questions about film articles. You can also ask the community questions at WT:FILM. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 03:32, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Status
[edit]Absolutely, you can copy the code for my status. :) First, for Netflix, you don't need any special code besides bolding and italicizing. For "Recently saw", you should create User:Tj999/Films. Go to User:Erik/Films and click "edit" to see the code there. Just copy my code into yours and change the films. (Make sure you keep the <noinclude> and </noinclude> tags from my code in the same place for yours.) For "Currently reading", create User:Tj999/Books, and copy my code from User:Erik/Books to there. When you have the /Films and /Books created, make sure you have something like this set up on your user page:
*'''Netflix at home:''' ''Film 1'', ''Film 2'', ''Film 3'' {{User:Tj999/Films}} {{User:Tj999/Books}}
Sorry to be vague; I'm just kind of outlining this so you can do it yourself. I could set up everything for you, but I'd rather let you learn for yourself! :) —Erik (talk • contrib) - 13:04, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Looks good to me! It's an easier setup, so hope you're happy with it. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 00:34, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

WikiProject Horror needs your help
[edit]TFunk : You've received this message as you are listed as a WikiProject Horror Participant. As you may have noticed, WikiProject Horror has suffered from a lack of direction and coordination of late. A suggestion on how to improve the Project and maintain it as a viable resource has been placed up for discussion here. As a member of the Project, your voice is valued and your input is requested. Thank you, hornoir (talk) 00:13, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
- No. If you want to be the coordinator, then you need to say so on the talk page. At the moment, Hornoir is the acting "temp" coordinator until we have the voting of the official coordinator once the project is back on its feet. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 13:40, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- We always need help. I'm just saying that if you want to be the official coordinator, or even the interim, you need to say so on the talk page. I don't think Hornoir would have a problem letting you do that. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 01:04, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Message from WikiProject Alien
[edit]Hello!
You are receiving this message because you have previously identified yourself as a member of WikiProject Alien, either because your name appears on the Participants page or because you have placed the project userbox on your user page.
There is currently a discussion on the project's talk page regarding a proposal to merge the project into a task force of either WikiProject Horror or WikiProject Science Fiction. As a project member, your input would be greatly appreciated in this discussion. Do you think the project ought to be merged into a task force, or remain separate? If you are in favor of a merger, which WikiProject do you think should be the parent? Please comment at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Alien#Task force merger.
Thank you. --IllaZilla (talk) 03:03, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

WP:FILMS' Tag & Assess Drive and Roll Call
[edit]Licensing for ticket stubs
[edit]TFunk, hello. I came across File:The Image Ticket Stub.png, which you uploaded with the permission claim "Ticket stubs have no copy right laws about them and so they fall under public domain after their issue date has expired." I recently uploaded an image of a ticket stub (File:1997 Notre Dame at Michigan football ticket stub.jpg) and need some assistance establishing its copyright status. Do you have a source for the claim above about ticket stubs? My the helmet in my ticket stub seems to be a registered logo. Would Template:Non-free logo be an appropriate tag then? I've done a lot of work on Wikipedia, but this is my first experience uploading an image. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jweiss11 (talk) 01:30, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Rational of 'Music' vs. 'Soundtrack'
[edit]My feeling is that 'Soundtrack' is the right term to use, but Jaws, my good article reference, seems to agree with you. Has this already been discussed and decided on? If so I'll obviously follow that consensus, but I'd love to see regardless. --Williamsburgland (talk) 19:47, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- I have not see a discussion on this. I myself was referencing the other Alien films, which use 'Music' as opposed to 'Soundtrack'. To me, this seemed logical because there are separate pages for the specific soundtrack albums. --TFunk (talk) 20:03, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- That's fair enough; I re-reverted to 'music', though at some point I'll bring it up on the film project discussion page; I'd think it should be standardized, right? --Williamsburgland (talk) 20:18, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- It's been a slow day at work... I went ahead and started the discussion there; please share your .02 :) --Williamsburgland (talk) 20:34, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
- Sounds good. I'll take a look at that. Hope your day improves for you! --TFunk (talk) 21:17, 6 June 2012 (UTC)
Collapsing article content by default
[edit]Hey TFunk. Thanks for your great work on various movie articles. Just wanted to draw your attention to the guidelines at MOS:COLLAPSE, which specifies that article content (such as lists of awards) should not be collapsed by default unless they are repeating information already given elsewhere in the article. Cheers! Kaldari (talk) 08:41, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Twilight Zone (franchise)
[edit]Hello, I'm Colliric. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to The Twilight Zone (franchise) because it did not appear constructive. Headers
[edit]Hi there. I saw that you replaced a standardized header with a semicolon. Per MOS:ACCESS, please do not do this. For one thing, it generates invalid HTML, which causes some browsers to not display it correctly. You should always use a series of equals signs in order to designate a header, and use apostrophes to bold text. Semicolons are only for definition lists. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 02:49, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you for the correction. I was just modeling that section based off of The Dark Knight (film), which is a large page that I think is organized very well. Now I'll know to use the equals signs for all future headlines of this sort, and perhaps apply the TOC limit if need be. – TFunk (talk) 03:38, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's not a really big deal, but it does cause problems for some browsers and users (especially blind people who use screen readers). I didn't realize it at first, either, but there are some useful bits buried deep in the more obscure MOS pages. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to chastise me for some equally obscure MOS violation I've been making for the past five years. Anyway, sorry if my messages sometimes come across as a bit curt; I don't always get enough sleep. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 13:47, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
- No problem. It's useful information to be aware of, especially since a majority of my edits deal with aiding accessibility within film-related articles. Cheers! – TFunk (talk) 17:21, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

The file File:BTAS Soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Batman: The Animated Series#Music. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:05, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

National Lampoon's Vacation (film series)
[edit]Hello. I apologise to bother you, but if you do not mind, I would like to ask a question regarding the article National Lampoon's Vacation (film series). Recently, I have found out about another project, namely a series of commercials for AAMI featuring Chevy Chase (the source). They have been archived and can be watched online: ad 1, ad 2, ad 3. To my knowledge, these TV commercials originally aired in 1998 (the source, see at 1:00:40 as well as 1:24:18). Is it worth mentioning in the article and should it be included in the release timeline? If so, could you add it, please? PS. I believe it would be reasonable to clarify there have been four TV spots for Old Navy featuring the Griswold family (the source, a rumoured fifth one never aired). Thank you very much in advance. Kind regards, --89.66.254.10 (talk) 23:30, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
