English variants[edit]

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. In a few of your edits you have changed British English spellings (neighbouring, categorise, molluscs) to US English spelling in articles where this is not helpful. Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style#National varieties of English. For example, the English spelling used in Mauritius is presumably that described in English in the Commonwealth of Nations, so articles on Mauritius generally use British English spelling. But please continue to contribute. Regards, Verbcatcher (talk) 19:17, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Antisemitic canard[edit]

Hello, it's not clear what you were trying to accomplish with this edit at Antisemitic canard, but whatever it was, it seems to have gone wrong. I've undone your change for now, so you don't have to do anything to fix it. It would help, if you would use an edit summary before you hit the "Publish" button, to let other editors know what the reason for your change was. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 12:10, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization and word changes[edit]

Hi Veronica, can you explain to me a little bit, what you like to edit on articles here? I'm seeing a lot of small changes to articles involving changing capitalization, or changing a word here or there, and rather than being an improvement to the article, either makes it a tiny bit worse, or just introduces change for change's sake, without really improving anything. Nothing you've done so far has been harmful, really, it's just that there's a long, slow, accumulation of tiny little mistakes here and there, that other people have to come in behind you, and fix them up. Even if you have the best of intentions, eventually this can become disruptive, if it becomes too much of a time-suck on other editors to clean up afterwards all the time. I see that nobody has sent you a welcome message, so I'll do that now; please click on the links, and learn about editing at Wikipedia. Thanks! Mathglot (talk) 12:16, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well, sometimes your changes have even been harmful. See Bishonen's note about the broken filename, in her post below at #Your change broke the link. Mathglot (talk) 12:50, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your change broke the link[edit]

Hi, Veronica. I have noticed you like to change the English slightly in places, for instance inserting a "the" or so, perhaps for the better. But please note that you can never do that in a filename, as you did here. The filename is "Obama speaking after release of long form birth certificate.ogv". You changed it to "Obama speaking after the release of the long-form birth certificate.ogv". You may prefer that as English prose, but that's irrelevant; the exact filename — the name the file has on its file page — must be used in order for the link in the article to work. Your change broke the link. Please click here to see the file page and its name. All right? I hope this is clear. If you have questions, please ask. Bishonen | talk 12:37, 5 February 2019 (UTC).[reply]

Please don't change quotations[edit]

Oh, jeez. Don't change quotations! As here, where you change "Man with a gun" to "The man with a gun". Have you listened to the audio recording? Really, please never change quotations. They're supposed to be exact. Bishonen | talk 18:27, 5 February 2019 (UTC).[reply]

Please don't change foreign languages if you don't understand them[edit]

Veronica, here you changed a source, a Portuguese article title, to read "barrage" instead of "barragem", in two places. Why? Were you trying to make it more "English"? If you clicked on the link to the source,[1] you would have seen that "barragem" was correct.

I notice that you have never replied to any comments or complaints on this page, your own talkpage, though I suppose you're aware you have such a page; you created it yourself, with the edit summary "Hello, I’m Veronica. I’m here to discuss with you different topics. The most interesting topics for me are games, music, internet, films, health, economics a..." Well, please discuss. I'm sorry, but I must insist you reply to, at least, this last post of mine, and explain why you changed a Portuguese word to an English one. I'm sorry to sound sharp, but, as Mathglot pointed out above, you're creating work for other people. P.S. And here, you changed a French word, in a French title, to an English word. Changes like this don't make any sense. Are you using an English spellchecker? Obviously that is sure to mess up non-English, so don't do it. Here is another example: you change the Greek word "panis" to "planes". (And you make several other errors in the same edit.)Bishonen | talk 18:47, 5 February 2019 (UTC).[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Mean as custard (talk) 08:19, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

After my warning above,[2] you have continued to change British spellings to American (warned by Verbcatcher on 30 January, above), change appropriate words that you (or your spellchecker) don't understand to something inappropriate ("pistil" to "pistol", "electus" to "elections"), and change correct spellings to incorrect ("InfoWars" to "Infowars"). You have either not read, or have ignored, all warnings about these things, and have failed to reply when I urged you to. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia. If you engage with us, and explain in a convincing way how you will avoid such harmful edits in the future, you may be unblocked. You can appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
