Castle of São Jorge

Zeorymer, May I first say that I am sorry that I moved the article name without opening a discussion. If you are creating articles on the councils of portable and following a singular naming structure and I completely support it because I very much believe in the standardization of articles. I am very sorry for all the ruckus that I've created. Thank you, Cristiano Tomás (talk) 10:20, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

Uploading a photo to the Commons/ Wikimedia

Dear Zeorymer. I need some help uploading a photo so I can use for an article that I am creating in the Portuguese WP. I will create the English artice soon. I have obtained permission from the owner of the photo. The photo is here: http://comandantearmandocardososoares.blogspot.pt/2009/12/recordando-o-padre-carlos-estermann.html Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 01:02, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Basically, I have permission from the owner of the photo. That is it. From there, I have no idea how to get it to the Commons. Meanwhile, an editor on the Portuguese WP has explained that it is quite a complicated process. So, when I wrote to you, I thought it was a question of going to the url, uploading the imaging, typing some information about the authorisation from the owner, and then using it. And that was the part I wanted your help with, seeing that I have never done it before. But looks like I'll first have to get the owner of the photo to release it. But thanks. Regards, Rui ''Gabriel'' Correia (talk) 01:51, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
Its not really as complicated as your colleges on Portuguese WP suggest. Yes, you are right in the fact that you do follow a process, and must include the author of the information. In situations as yourself, I have seen other uploaders provide referential information from the author, to provide the justification, that includes email links, etc, supporting the upload. But, that, it seems, is enough. For further information, I suggest you consult: information on the upload page (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard), post a question to the Commons upload page (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Upload_help) or, if that fails, I can suggest contact a colleague on Commons named User:Foroa or User:Darwinius, two people who helped me in the past with issues of file uploads. But, regardless, the process is not that complicated: just follow the upload wizard, its all there. Good luck. ruben jc ZEORYMER (talk) 02:08, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

  • Portuguese articles are a deep mess. I was being bold. talk pages are a minimal problem in articles with major issues. Request moves for over 300 articles, that is a lot of work :| moreover, there is an ongoing reform. --Pedro (talk) 11:40, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Forte Grande de São Mateus da Calheta may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
