Uttar Kalas is a census town under Mograhat police station in Magrahat II CD Block of Diamond Harbour subdivision in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.[1][2]

Demographics

As per 2011 Census of India Uttar Kalash had a total population of 6,474, of which 3,382 (52%) were males and 3,092 (48%) were females. Population below 6 years was 1,086. The total number of literates in Uttar Kalash was 4,070 (75.54 % of the population over 6 years).[3]

As of 2001 India census,[4] Uttar Kalas had a population of 5437. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Uttar Kalas has an average literacy rate of 56%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 63%, and female literacy is 49%. In Uttar Kalas, 20% of the population is under 6 years of age.
