File:British pre-decimal threepence coin reverse 1937.png

This was deleted as an unused non-free image, but as a work of the UK government dated 1937, I think {{PD-UKGov}} applies. -John of Reading (talk) 19:49, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

I agree. Done, restored. Consider moving this image to Commons. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:59, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
@Amatulic: I've just been discussing this at the uploader's talk page. Apparently we have to treat coins as 3D objects, so the photographer has to give away his rights in the image. This one will have to be deleted again, I'm afraid. -- John of Reading (talk) 20:11, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
This is correct, the coin is PD-UKGov, but the photograph can have its own copyright due to the potential for artistic nature, including lighting, shot framing, etc. Cheers, TLSuda (talk) 21:04, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below -192.199.225.11 (talk) 05:48, 9 May 2014 (UTC) While television station articles, like all articles on Wikipedia, should ideally meet the general notability guidelines, in general, any television station which produces original content and is licensed by a national government (e.g., the FCC in the United States) is presumed to be notable.

In addition, the station in question has grown in profile, is mentioned in other articles (FTA, Free-to-air), and has changed in character since the deletion.

  • Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ebru TV, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Cirt (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. you could write a draft that includes independent references asd we can consider if it is ready for mainspace. Pages deleted under that criterion are generally not undeleted because they require complete rewrites to be viable encyclopedia articles or because they violate our biographical or fair-use policies. We are not a business listing website, and attempting to use us as one will just get the page deleted as fast as you keep creating it, eventually leading to a title lock to stop you from doing it. Not done, for two reasons:
  • The request was made once before, and the article was restored, last November. Not one single edit was made to it, so six months later, it was deleted again. Wikipedia has no interest in providing indefinite free hosting space for draft articles.
  • This is the English Wikipedia. And yet, this article is not in English, and none of the dozens of edits to the article were in English. There is no benefit to the English Wikipedia in maintaining a non-English page.
On that basis, this request for restoration is no Declined. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:10, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Do you want this as a draft article @Venus2211:? You can have it in your own sandbox to give you time to get it up to standard. I don't agree that it was promotional, but there was as yet no claim of importance. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:07, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for making it possible to do work on here The assistance is phenomenal. I have other independent celebrities and artists I will edit when I get better at it. Especially ones that do so much service work outside of their crafts. Many don't get the credit they deserve or have the resources/time. Even if they've done notable works. Fontaines that was up again and an editor re-deleted it before I had a chance to edit and add the references and citations. Then I worked on it on Sandbox I believe and it wouldn't come out right. I tried to send a message to you.Have no idea if I am doing anything correctly. Do pages normally get deleted faster than a person can work on them when they are new at this? I just need to figure it out and have a little time to sort out how to post the references required so that they're visible. They didn't show up when I posted. This is what I posted. Though I added a whole slew of references they didn't show. Below. Anastasia S. Fontaines is a Canadian born Actress, Singer, Songwriter, Pet Rescue advocate and humanitarian of Greek descent. Ms. Fontaines is a diverse performer who has works in Independent film, Commercials, [[Music video] and behind the camera . She has worked the spectrum of the entertainment industry having produced, directed, casting film, song writing and singing. In her private time she is involved in animal rescue, support of abuse victims, the environment and more.

Thanks thanks thanks for all help provided. What a mess! Venus2211 (talk) 08:31, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Venus2211

  • I've moved these from being a ref to being a bulleted list, as we don't really do the whole "reflist" thing on here. The reason for that is because the references would show for the entire page as opposed to one section, which would be confusing and a little messy. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:35, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

Brandon_Cyrus

Hello, my team and I spent over 6 hours creating this page which came out beautifully after all the hard work we put in it and then we had someone tear it down and 'bully us' and posted threats to block us for undoing their actions. We then had another user stand up for the page describing that it meets 'criteria' under celebrities but needed more sources and both the admin and the author agreed on that. After all this, there was another user who set up "articles for deletion" message on my profile, I deleted that, and I told him "us both already talked about it, we agreed the page should be there, please take this page down" and the user goes "done" as in he agreed. But then the user got out of control, yelling at me, harassing me, posting threats, and I believe that the user was posting messages on several users pages and telling them to mark our page for deletion. In all simply, our page fits the guidelines. The matter of the fact is that BRANDON CYRUS is a celebrity and his IMDb can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6060051/. He works hard in movies such as High School Musical 2, Divergent, Ted 2, and Magic Mike 2, for him to be unnoticed and to not have a Wikipedia is embarrassing and absurd. He definitely meets criteria for celebrities and famous people and should be reinstated immediately. The page was claimed to be an issue due to "not so many sources", however on our way tonight to fix it we noticed it was deleted, which is a shame because we got the sources and our page was bringing in hundreds, hundreds, of visits from people who could be joining Wikipedia right now and donating to it's projects. Please fix this.

Also, I had my username changed and for some reason it doesn't seem to be updating, however I work directly under his management. --BrandonCyrus (talk) 09:29, 10 May 2014 (UTC)

LOG OFF AND RE-LOG IN WITH YOUR NEW USERNAME. Stop editing under your old username and everything will work just fine. ~Amatulić (talk) 15:18, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
  • This is not the correct place to ask for it to be undeleted. I've responded on my talk page (since I was the closing admin) as to why I will not re-create it. The only place to contest the deletion at this point would be Wikipedia:Deletion review, although I do have my serious doubts about his notability. Also, please be careful about stating that people are operating in bad faith, as nominating someone for deletion does not automatically mean that someone is doing it as an attack. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:39, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Also, I don't specifically see where an admin said that Cyrus passes notability guidelines. I see where User:Solarra argued for inclusion, but the argument was flawed as the roles were minor. A significant role would be something along the lines of Harry Potter, as the unsaid thing about "significant role" is that the actor would still be the focus of many RS because there would be news stories about the performance. RS would still be required. In any case, one admin saying that the person passes notability guidelines doesn't mean that the person actually does, as there's no guarantee that the admin really knows the guidelines for WP:NACTOR. For example, I'm not fully versed in the ins and outs of notability guidelines for athletes so that means that I could say someone passes guidelines when they really don't. Plus I again have to stress that it's very unwise to say that the deletion actions and editing to the article were performed by people who were specifically setting out to attack Cyrus. • Not done The problem was that there really wasn't anything to restore. The page's sole content was "Muhsina (محسنئ) means in Arabic The good doer or The one with the highest faith. Used for the feminine gender." It was pretty much a dictionary/translation definition, and we usually don't have those here on Wikipedia unless they have a lot of coverage in reliable sources to where it can be made into a full article. You could probably go through Wiktionary, although you will still need to back this up with some form of a reliable source to show that it's a commonly used term. Seithikurippu Ratnas Pandi-Perumal

The deletion rationale left by the wikipedia editors cited A7 (speedy deletion): Article about a real person, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject." It also provide an exception clause: " with the exception of educational institutions". Mr. Pandi-Perumal is an employee of NYU Medical Center. Note: The page was speedily-deleted under criterion A7. Pages deleted under that criterion are generally not undeleted because they require complete rewrites to be viable encyclopedia articles or because they violate our biographical or fair-use policies. "Educational institutions" doesn't include staff of same, and Article X does not justify article Y - he has to be notable on his own. We also do not accept blogs, Google, profiling sites, or similar as references.Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 04:05, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
  • I'll also add to this that being usable as a reliable source doesn't always mean that someone is notable. The same thing goes for being referenced in various different scholarly papers. It's kind of a tricky thing, as we have to be able to verify that the cites aren't done by the same institution or someone he's worked with, or so on. If you can find something that can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he's a pioneer in his field, that would be helpful. Mostly it boils down to someone getting an in-depth mention in a paper or book by someone who is not personally tied to person in question. Otherwise, we can't really go by how many articles or books someone has written because the academic world is pretty much a "publish or perish" type of environment. It's expected that someone will put out a lot of journals and books. We need stuff that's secondary and in reliable sources. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:37, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
  • I mean, he could potentially pass notability guidelines, but we need more specific things. Google hits and a scholar index doesn't always mean notability is met, as our guidelines are very strict. In other words, we need stuff like this review for one of the books he worked on. Quanta Science Magazine

Quanta Science Magazine is the only student-run science magazine in San Diego. I think that it should have a place on Wikipedia. I know that what I created probably didn't make it seem like a big deal because this was my first article, but it is. I know a number of students who would have liked to have a general-information source to be able to look up, myself included, because it's hard to become a writer for Quanta if you don't know a lot of the magazine's history (you would only know if you went to The Bishop's School, and many do not. This is especially unfair for them, since Quanta's website only releases its publications and a little information about its editors). I think this article should exist so that students from other schools in California who would like to join the Quanta Science Magazine writing team can, by being able to access some of Quanta's background information and past publications, have a more equal chance to do so. -Imtheangel7283 (talk) 21:58, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Offhand, I can't really find anything to show that this magazine has been the focus of coverage in places that are both reliable and independent of the magazine itself. The thing about being the first or only of something, is that this doesn't automatically extend coverage. It may make it more likely that something will gain coverage, but it's not a guarantee. A magazine can be the first of its type in the entire world (as opposed to one city in the USA), but that still doesn't guarantee coverage- which is what we need to establish notability. As far as it being WP:USEFUL, we don't keep things based on whether or not it'd be useful. You have to establish notability via WP:RS. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 22:11, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Williams Ibekwe

This article is about a teenage entrepreneur who owns a company and has a plans in life. The article is to encourage teenagers to do what they know how to do best and not what they see others do or what they have no idea about. He is following in the footsteps of his role model, Bill Gates. -Willybeez (talk) 22:59, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Jumino Suhadi

The article should not be deleted because it gives various kinds of information about an outstanding man named Jumino Suhadi. Many people require the information as his biography will be launched by the end of this year. -Jumino Suhadi Prof. (talk) 05:09, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Not done - a deleted page with this name does not appear to exist. I tried searching in AfC space and by your own edits, but I can't find anything. On a side note, your username suggests that you are either the professor himself or have some other form of WP:COI. Please be aware that writing an autobiography is strongly discouraged. I'd also recommend that you read over WP:PROF to ensure that he passes notability guidelines. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:26, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

  • Not done This is just a little too promotional in tone to restore, and I notice that you'd been cautioned about this twice by two different editors. You'd pretty much have to re-write most of the entire article from scratch to remove the promotional tone, so it'd be better to start with a fresh new rendition. Peter Hamilton

Updates had not been made to the page in 6 months as I had been waiting for more concrete sources to reveal Peter Hamilton's notability. As I believed those became available I tried to edit the page but found that it had been deleted. • Not done This is because of several reasons. First off, this already has an article at Mu'mina. Secondly, it didn't have any content that wasn't already on the existing page. I'm a little concerned that this page doesn't really have any reliable sources to show that it merits an entry outside of Islam, as this could probably be summed up in a few sentences and merged into the parent article. I won't nominate it or anything, but I can't guarantee that someone else will, so this page will need to be cleaned up and edited to establish notability. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:30, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
And Mu'mina was substantially identical to Mu'min, so I have redirected it there. At least Mu'min has some references, although I am skeptical that the term merits a stand-alone article. ~Amatulić (talk) 14:38, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

I looked at the page and it would need to be completely re-written in order to be on the mainspace, so your best option at this point would be to re-write it from scratch. John Fischer is a key player in the Boulder startup and small business community. His knowledge of entrepreneurship and open-book management make him a mentor to many budding business owners, and his sponsorship of local events helps keep the business community networked and engaged. His work with StickerGiant has even visited space on a NASA shuttle, and StickerGiant has produced thousands of stickers, including clients like Google. Stickers are a cultural artifact, and John's company helps contribute to popular culture through their products. -Andrewmatranga (talk) 23:08, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Edward W. Chance Reserve

Page was deleted as a creation by a banned user. I am going through the Southwest Florida Water Management Guide and I'd like to see what was there and create an article on this subject.
