Go-Ahead Singapore is a future Singapore bus operator that will commence trading in quarter 3 of 2016. It is a subsidiary of the Go-Ahead Group. It is also the fourth public transport operator and the second public transport operator operating under the Bus Contracting Model (BCM), after Tower Transit Singapore.

History

Mr Zainal Sapari, Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, and Mr David Brown, Group Chief Executive of the Go-Ahead Group, signed the commemorative plaque

In April 2015, the Land Transport Authority called for tenders to operate 25 routes based at Changi Airport Bus Terminal, Changi Village Bus Terminal, Pasir Ris Bus Interchange, and Punggol Bus Interchange out of Loyang Bus Depot as part of its new contracting model.[1] Busways, Go-Ahead Group, Keolis, RATP Group/Transdev, SBS Transit, SMRT Buses, Tian Tan Shipping/Kumho Construction and Woodlands Transport lodged bids.[2]

In November 2015, the Land Transport Authority awarded Go-Ahead the contract with Go-Ahead Singapore to commence operations in quarter 3 of 2016. The contract will run for five years with an option to extend for a further two years.[3][4][5]

On 11 December 2015, the Land Transport Authority handed over Loyang Bus Depot to Go-Ahead Singapore to allow it to be fitted out.[6]

On 19 June 2016, the Loyang Bus Depot was officially opened by MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency, Mr Zainal Sapari and the Group Chief Executive of The Go-Ahead Group Mr David Brown. Loyang Bus Depot Carnival was also held on the same day to allow the public to tour the depot and also learn more about Go-Ahead Singapore. [7]

Services

Go-Ahead Singapore will commence the operation of 25 services in quarter 3 of 2016 with another route to be phased in at a later date. All services were previously operated by SBS Transit. [8]
