Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:DPHSAerial.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:35, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:CarreraCabriolet.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CarreraCabriolet.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 06:05, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:StonehengeFE.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 17:31, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edward Teller[edit]

Hi Gabbe. The reason I include some verbiage on what the Global Warming Petition is on Teller's page is that the title "Global Warming Petition" can be misleading, causing one to believe that Teller was a signer of a petition in favor of the theory of Global Warming. Not all those who go to Wikipedia will search through each hyperlink to learn the details. It should be reinstated.

Edgy01 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edgy01 (talkcontribs) 21:54, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the wording from "He is a signatory of the Global Warming Petition Project" to "He is a signatory of the Oregon Petition", which should cause less confusion. Gabbe (talk) 21:59, 4 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:PorscheCoupe.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:991FrontDetail 0100.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:991FrontDetail 0100.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mtking (edits) 07:13, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:SBCourtRoomCemterWik5759a.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:SBCourtRoomCemterWik5759a.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

Will do when I get a moment!

Been very busy fixing up our homes in Santa Barbara.

My problem with Wikipedia is that I go through quite a bit of difficulty sharing my photos with Wikipedia, and then some arbitrary Wikipedia NAZI suggests that my photos are stolen from someplace else. They question me. I just don;t have the time that many of you apparently have to go back and forth with this crap.

What do you recommend for a copyright option that clearly means that I took the photo, (and thus, by default, own the copyright) and am willing to share the image on Wikipedia?

Could use some help here. Feel free to email me directly at Edgy01@aol.com

I'm sorry that I'm not a Wikipedia Expert as you appear to be. But you have no right to question my photographs. Who are you? And upon what do you base your suspicions?? What I did was not "vandalization." I left you a message where I thought you would see it. If I'm supposed to do it a certain way, please give me a complete description of that process. I merely responded to your email suggesting my photo be removed for some odd-ball reason, and when I went to the hyper link there was no place for me to contest your allegations. Again, bright boy, upon what are you basing your UNILATERAL DECISION to suggest that my photo is not my own?? Please cite the SPECIFIC CRITERIA which the world of Speedy Deletion under which you claim I am in violation. There is no button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". I'm getting a little sick and tired of 'editors' who think they know more about my images than I do. Perhaps you simply sit in a small dark room and decide on your own whose photos are really their own. I only post photos that I have personally taken, with my personal cameras. I am nice enough to donate them for use in Wikipedia, but those days are soon going to come to an end because, frankly, I'm tired of people questioning my images.

How about some help understanding why I am being challenged periodically with my photos that I submit to Wikipedia. I am a photographer. I own all my images. I don't upload someone else's. I don't have the time to mess around with a bunch of people who just want to throw a wrench into things. If this continues I will pull all of my images off Wikipedia and call it a day.

File source problem with File:AWACS008.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:AWACS008.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Liz Read! Talk! 04:56, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Liz. I have a lot of difficulty navigating Wiki! Where is the information regarding ‘living persons?’ I also had a lot of trouble when I posted my images, with many in Wiki trying to question if they were even my images to post in the first place. Thanks for any insight! (Sadly, I’m just too busy go wander through all the control pages within Wiki so a hyperlink the applicable page would help me out! Thanks Edgy01 (talk) 06:30, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Since you asked:
Living persons is here.
Copyright is here; images are better uploaded on Wikimedia Commons, which has its own rules.
Pictures are here.
Hope this helps! – John M Wolfson (talkcontribs) 06:35, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ms Woodson,

I did not turn over my copyrights to Wikipedia. All images of mine must be deleted by you since you have denied me access to do so. Violations of copyright are taken very seriously and will be pursued. Edgy01 (talk) 06:50, 28 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry—MR. Woodson!
