Hi I did reference my sources and put down facts that I could establish about the station. I do not see why not this pirate radio station should not be documented as it was one of very few in derbyshire that began in the 2000's. --User:Notoriousonline

Shass Pollak

[edit]

Please see section Mishnah#Structure. The section "see also" is not only for things about the subject of the article, but for things somehow associated with the subject. The term "shas" IMO provides an association, since it is a direct ref to Mishnah despite being commonly used as a ref to Talmud. But my real goal was to make the article Shass Pollak more visible in wikipedia, so that it may be improved by other wikipedians. Laudak (talk) 18:21, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About Deletion of pages and users and userpages

[edit]

Hi Jon513(Admin),

I read here in reaction on my question and somewhere else I think, that I one wants to leave he can/may do the following things:

  • First delete your personal information you don't like (do this yourself)
  • Ask an admin to delete your "User:x" "User_talk:x" if exist also "User:x/y" pages (like Signatures, notes, archives)
  • Log back in, re-create your userpage and leave a note wich says that you're no longer active (eventually using a template).

About this I have 2 questions. 1. Are these 3 steps correct ? 2. What means "deleting a page" is it then still possible to click on History and get it back ? Or is it really deleting, including it's history ? Or is the history hidden for non-admins but is it still there ? Or is it being moved to some Trash-bin for Admins only ? Or is it being moved to some place where it will stay for a certain time and then deleting (for example, if one wants it back, it's still backed up).

I'm not about to leave wikipedia, however I am about to leave my current usernames (somebody else wants my name, he/she had it longer, and I find that fair). TijhofGraphics (talk) 13:51, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.
Well, on the English wikipedia there's indeed no special need for deletion. However, on other languages of wikipedia's I have a long list of userboxes and emailadressen in the history of the page (The current version has no personal details on it) but they're still in the history. And if someone takes my account (either direct (give him/her login) or in direct(delete account from database, he/she registeres) I dont want people to check the history and then contact my or spam my, or anything else unwanted.
Is it possible for users to take my accont indirectly after I leave (I hope so, but I think not). PS: So I just put that dbuser code on my User and Talk pages of the wikipedias I use (3 languages) TijhofGraphics (talk) 13:53, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you come up with a reliable reference for the existence of this guy as an Israeli billionaire? Given the quality of references now given, I'd guess he is a hoax and should be deleted. I'm sure references in Hebrew can be given, but if he really is a billionaire there must be at least one solid reference in English. Wouldn't you think so?

Thanks for any help.

Question In Hopes For A Clarification On Gamma Globulins/Antibody

[edit]

Hi Jon513, I was reading the Antibody and gamma globulins ites and wondered if someone can answer question: If a gamma globulin is a blood protein not produced by the liver then, is it produced by the evolution of the blood protein with the gamma portion at the end of the cycle? Hi, thanks for your message. Though I admit to my association to http://www.yeshiva.org.il/, it is a large site that can promote understanding of various topics of Judaism. I thought of going through the places where these links would be apropriate, starting with Jewish holidays. Still, I see your point, I'll try to act as you suggested. יוסף שמח (talk) 16:01, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...for participating in my RfA, which closed with 119 in support, 4 neutral and 5 opposes. I'm honestly overwhelmed at the level of support that I've received from the community, and will do my best to maintain the trust placed in me. I 'm also thankful to those who opposed or expressed a neutral position, for providing clear rationales and superb feedback for me to build on. I've set up a space for you to provide any further feedback or thoughts, should you feel inclined to. However you voted, thanks for taking the time out to contribute to the process, it's much appreciated. Kind regards, Gazimoff 21:33, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Extra care housing and others to look at

[edit]

Johndillonmission created multiple other articles along the same line as Extra care housing, all of which are copy/paste from his website, http://www.housingcare.org, and seem primarily designed to promote that agency. Can you take a look at the rest and evaluate whether they should also be CSDed as spam/self-promotion? -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 16:48, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Query

[edit]

Hi there.

I am writing in response to your comments on my talk page:

"I am greatly concerned about your recent edits to wikipedia. I am not sure that the encyclopedia is improved by the creation of the article "Life Interest Plan", "Home Improvement Agency", "Close care housing", "Choice based lettings", "Care and repair service", and "Assessment of needs" etc....

Appologies if this has not gone down well, this was not the intention. As you can see from the site they originated from (housingcare.org) this is a charity site and the intention was purely to add terms to wiki that we have in our glossary that describe certain issues around which our subject matter falls.

I realise the content of these was not the best and my intention was to keep building on these, hopefully getting further contributions from other parties in the field. I am not the original writer for these and I have been trying to get the person who did to make these a bit better, and hopefully this will be the ammo that I need. I would appreciate if we were allowed to contribute to these and I assure you they are valid terms inthe housing and care advice sector in the UK.

I fully understand if you'd rather wait until the quality is better.

Thanks John —Preceding unsigned comment added by Johndillonmission (talkcontribs) 17:00, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nazarites

[edit]

Shalom aleichem,

You seem to be the only person who has discussed a nazarite topic with me recently, and someone's addition to it is related to our discussion. I have written more and stated I will add to the article, but I want to know what people think 1st.--Dchmelik (talk) 09:45, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Henotheism

[edit]

Henotheism: What a mess! I wandered onto this page and found the "Israelite beliefs and Judaism" paragraph to be an incoherent web of uncited/original research/blatant misrepresentations. I tried to change it a bit but I'm unsure how to proceed. Jonah written much later?? Not mentioned on the Book of Jonah page or on the Jonah page. I wanted to just cut out the whole thing but I thought that might go against some wiki policy. Could you check it out?

Mgunetiquette has requested unblocking. He says he now understands why the article was deleted, and will not recreate it but will use the proper process. He says he didn't read the messages until after he had recreated the article several times, that he didn't understand how Wikipedia does messages until it was too late. Deleted Article

[edit]

Hi Jon. You have deleted article "Alphanumeric List of Known Microsoft Windows Registry Keys" claiming that you do not know the context of the article.

This is a stub article about the Windows Registry containing a list of the numeric keys contained within it.

I could probably add some explanatory notes, or maybe a Microsoft Windows expert could fill in the gaps. The article was tagged with a stub marker.

If you are not familiar with the subject, it might be better marking for proposed deletion, rather than just immediately deleting the page.

I think the page title alone gave sufficient context to explain the article, so I do not agree with your statement about lack of context. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.232.150.252 (talk) 00:26, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Israeli Mafia: They exist in the news, but not on Wikipedia (en nor he)

[edit]

Just tooling around en and he wikipedias following many news references to the Abutbul crime family in the news. On English wikipedia, all I can find is this pathetic article: Asi Abutbul. They aren't even mentioning Asi in the news. Google news search returns a: Francois, Charlie and Adam Abutbul at first glance. The most suspicious thing of all is that there appears to be no article about the Abutbul family at all on hebrew wikipedia. Though these guys may be second rate criminals compared to the big fish of the English speaking world, in Israel they would certainly rank. Yet [1] (category: israeli criminals) on hebrew wikipedia has no mention. It seems that wikipedia is falling behind if the israeli papers are running stories about these guys every week and they have no entry. What do you think? Mdanziger (talk) 08:15, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A question regarding the ten commandments article

[edit]

I'm a first year student at the University of Toronto and my professor (Saul Nigosian) was discussing the ancient Israelites when the topic of the ten commandments came up. He stated he was just about to publish a book on the many misconceptions about the Israelites construed by modern day Christians and some Jews. He stated that a direct translation from the old scripture of the first commandment was "Though shalt have no other god beside me. He went on to explain that discoveries of ancient Israelite statuettes depicting divinities point towards them being polytheistic and that the first commandment was put in place as an acknowledgement of god's omnipotence/omniscience/prescience. I was wondering whether you had any thoughts on the issue and whether this would be relevant to the ten commandments article. - (Sardonac (talk) 03:07, 13 November 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Neil Fitzgerald edit

[edit]

Hi John

I am working on a family project on Neil Fitzgerald as I am a distant relation hence why I signed up and I have an image plus news clippings on him of him to upload...I am not sure if there are more..the family are gathering more information facts on him as we speak..

Can I automatically add his image to his page site after 10 edits or do I have to pass it through someone else first?

Also someone else had re-edited to put him as a British Actor and linked him to the British Actor pages...I am aware that Ireland was under British rule then put he and the family agree that he if anything is an Irish and American actor especially given his father was a Parnellite. It is bit disconcerting that someone can pop in and just over overwrite my edit is there away of stopping this..I do not mind people adding to it for discussion but it was a complete over-write...also someone had linked him to the wrong James Fitzgerald we are gathering more information on him too. NEW QUERY

Hi Jon I am still learning the ropes here but to let you know the article on IMBD I wrote myself from research on Newspapers and from some online info as there is a link for Neil on IBDB (Broadway Data) which confirmed the information on the Newspaper clippings... but I assure you it was in my own words...I'm not sure about the fact that if I put it up there on IMBD then it becomes copyright of IMBD not me but I am a paid member of IMBD. The reason for the name Emlylimerick on this site is because the rest of the family can contribute to Neil's information as we find out more and I can give them access to it...the Image I wish to put up of him was taken by my father who does not mind it being in the public Domain...Neil never married and has no children as far as we know....Can I put his info back up with the image or do I need to tweak it slightly again?Emlylimerick (talk) 13:50, 27 November 2008 (UTC) Emlylimerick/Isadora[reply]
