[Title width guide. Delete above here if no further edits - already in archive. If further edits, move below here.]

Hello. I don't know why exactly you bothered to speedy delete something already in AfD, but okay, you did. The problem was, you deleted it under claims of it being a hoax. Not so. A simple Google search would've proven otherwise. I was going to provide an external link to prove it, but it was in AfD by the time I realized I probably should, and by then I doubted I should even bother.

I don't know why you assume I would spend about 16 hours creating a "blatant hoax", at the expense of my free time and sleep, when I did in fact have better things to do, but I haven't been exposed to many hoaxes here. Actually, I haven't been exposed to any.

I'm not really asking for it to be restored. I'm not even sure if I want to even ask for my code back, which took me a hell of a time cross-checking times and such to live up to proper standards.

I am just simply stating, really, that the delete was unnecessary and wrong, and not in a faux moral sense.

Okay, I do want my code back. Hell if I don't have something to show for it, somewhat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Megalandrys (talkcontribs) 02:08, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

  • You may have your code on the strict understanding that it will not be seen anywhere near Wikipedia. Please read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:02, 3 August 2015 (UTC)

I still sort of want to know what the point of deleting it was (and how it was a "blatant hoax", but thank you. Edit: It was all ready, just had to confirm my email, which I have now done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Megalandrys (talkcontribs)

  • I agree, hoax was an inappropriate deletion reason. But since {{db-web}} clearly applied, I had no hesitation in deleting. Text emailed. Do not repost here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:56, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Diaoyu Islands

Hello, I will try to offer all the information you may need; please bear with me as I am not sure if my formatting is correct. My message is regarding this page. I believe you deleted the article, which is about a controversial film that covers the topic of the Senkaku Island Dispute. You deleted it under the A10 rule stating it is a duplicate topic, although it is not. There may have been confusion because, in the page title, I forgot to mention that it is a film.

The topic is relevant because the film caused a media storm in China last year and the film's creator has been the subject of news articles in a number of countries. He is referred to as a hero and a propagandist. The film is well-rated on IMDB (8.3/10) and has millions of views across platforms like Youtube,Youku. etc., which offers credibility to it as a known entity.

I have two main purposes in writing you: 1. I kindly request the page be reinstated, and if any changes need to be made, I will do so. 2. If you still believe the page is not correct, can you please let me know why and return to me the content that I wrote? I'd like to have my writing, and since the page is deleted I don't know how to retrieve it. I appreciate your time! Thank you, Slycat21 (talk) 23:11, 10 August 2015 (UTC) Slycat21

  • I was ready to delete the article before I even looked at it because I view shouting as vandalism. I agree that the movie may well be notable in its own right. So feel free to submit your article via AfC with no shouting in the title. Text emailed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:56, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

  • Copy&pasting large chunks of wikitext is usually pointless. If you do so in a manner which destroys the markup then it becomes vandalism. To do so twice on a user talk page is even more vandalism. If I see you doing any more of it, I shall block you. What you do need to do is: write a short article about Azadari in Allahabad in your own words and submit it via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:56, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Ryan rens

  • Hello User:RHaworth, I tagged Ryan rens for CSD which was redirected to Ryan rems. Ryan rems was later deleted by you for A7. Somehow the page Ryan rens still exists. I have removed the dead redirect from the page and tagged it for CSD. Can you please delete the page when you have time? Many thanks. Arun Kumar SINGH (Talk) 18:51, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello Mr Haworth. I am working on a project. I saw that I couldn't save my work due to (U5: Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host). I removed all the references right away and then added back on to see which one it was, as it was not easily evident to me. Then I noticed the whole page was deleted. I did remove the offending link immediately. Is it possible that you can restore my written words? I would appreciate it. I am new on Wikipedia as you know. Sorry for the mistake. In Gratitude, Miel Denisemedium Denisemedium (talk) 22:18, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

  • Despite 70 edits over a fortnight, the format of the page was wildly distant from Wikipedia standards. I concluded that you were drafting the text for use somewhere else and therefore deleted it for using Wikipedia as a free host. If you really intended it for here, kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks you are notable and writes about you here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:41, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Greetings Mr Haworth, This is Miel. Sir, I am not drafting text to be used elsewhere, nor am I not writing about myself. I would appreciate being enabled with a restore so I can finish this project and move on to others. Thank you, Miel Denisemedium Denisemedium (talk) 17:32, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Dear Mr. Haworth, This morning I was asked by the creator of the #CharlestonSyllabus on the African American Intellectual History Society, Keisha N. Blain, Ph.D. Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa in the Department of History, to generate a Wikipedia page for content already listed on the AAIHS website here. The Charleston Syllabus hashtag trended for an entire week on Twitter and attracted more than 10k tweets within days of its debut. This crowd-sourcing project was covered in the LA Times, the Chronicle of Higher Ed, and on NPR and PBS. The page was not removed for lack of notability, but I just wanted to provide you with some contextualizing information.

Due to the nature of the content (detailed lists of books, articles, and other media), the text was flagged for speedy deletion by CorenSearchBot, and because the page was deleted so quickly, I was unable to run the duplication detector or CopyVio in order to view the specific problems with the page. I hope to recreate the page, and would appreciate any recovery that you might see fit to perform. Are you able to help me? Thank you, MoriahRusso (talk) 22:00, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

  • I saw the horrible shouted section headings and zapped the article on principle. Slovenly is the operative word here - you simply copy&pasted the list and thought you had created a Wikipedia article. No you did not. The list itself is primary, source material which simply does not belong in Wikipedia.
So - write a short article in your own words which links to the list itself and has plenty of references. Text emailed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:39, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your advice and straightforward language, as well as for sending the revised text. You're right that the page was sloppy, but it was also incomplete. I get the picture--keep the building to draft pages before posting. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia but am trying to contribute, if imperfectly. MoriahRusso (talk) 19:32, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Taking the piss all day

Please move the (deleted) page 24-hour urine collection to "Special:Mypage/24-hour urine collection". The article needs to be rewrited in "my own words", but - due to my limited possibilities of writing in English - I need help from other Wikipedians. — Jaceknow (talk) 10:21, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

  • Text emailed. The vital thing missing from the article and which should appear in the first paragraph is the explanation of the benefits of taking a full 24 hour sample instead of a single sample. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:39, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Is this page where it 'should' be? I 'moved' it: " Leiabox/Tim Kerr (musician) to Tim Kerr (musician):", possibly at the same moment you deleted it? [1]220 of Borg 19:49, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Thank you but HELP

Thanks for deleting the redirect that looped back into itself aka Talk: List of Yogi Bear characters. Now the actual talk page for the real article List of Yogi Bear characters needs to be established correctly, however I cannot for the life of me remember how to do that. I know it's simple, but could you please save me from trooping fruitlessly through Wikipedia Help/Template/WP pages and establish the talk page?

But wait, there's more! (Funfunfun). I have also just now discovered there is an additional wrinkle...

There are two similarly-named articles.

List of Yogi Bear characters (with this edit history) AND
List of Yogi Bear Characters (which is a re-direct to The Yogi Bear Show with THIS edit history).

Thanks in advance for whatever you can do. Shearonink (talk) 22:21, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Autostrad

@RHaworth: Hello, I have created an article with the name Autostrad. The text in the article was available in multiple sites, so I didn't know what site to use as reference so I used any. How is that a copyright infringement? Even if it was, I later re-edited the text into a different form but the page got eventually deleted even after I made a consent explaining my reasons. And now I can't do anything to fix this since the article got locked because it was deleted multiple times, I will do everything so that I can recreate this article. Please help. — Makeandtoss (talk) 20:48, 18 August 2015 (UTC)

Restore

Please restore Template:AZBilliards and its documentation. It is not recreation of deleted content. It's a new template similar to the previous one, that does more than the original did. I was about to use that for a sourcing run. It's insanely tedious to keep re-entering all that data by hand for the same source over and over again. It's also getting tedious to have to keep defending this wikiproject's templates and other material against people who are constantly trying to delete them, as if they have something against cue sports. If someone want to delete the enhanced version they need to make a case why their desire to free up "bits" the server does not need outweighs our project's productivity. I don't see other wikiprojects having their citation and other templates subjected to this kind of deletion campaigning.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  02:15, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

  • Please indicate how this template would be used. If it has been used already, please give a link to its use. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:11, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

You can see what it did when someone undid it the one place I got around to using this version of it here before you nuked it. It fills in all the citation data that isn't article-specific, just like all single-source templates do, at Category:Specific-source templates. This source can be used multiple times for virtually every modern non-snooker cue sport bio and event (and some snooker ones for that matter, though this isn't AZBilliards's focus). There are hundreds of source-specific templates like this, and no one seems to mess with any of them but cue-sports specific ones. I have to fend off targeted deletion nonsense like this several times per year. Someone keeps subst'ing them (sometimes very messily - they have conditional code in them), then listing them for deletion, generally when I and other project members don't seem to be around to defend them, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence of course. Someone has way too much @#$%ing time on their hands and needs to go do something constructive, instead of simultaneously destructive, and inhibitory of a particular project getting work done And I shouldn't have to rush to use it in 50 places a few days after setting it up, to keep a self-evidently useful template around. This source is one of the top four professionally edited cue sports journalism sources; it is a reliable source and a valuable one, already cited in nearly 70 pool and billiards articles.[2]; would be a lot more if people would stop undoing my work and trying to make it hard to cite on purpose.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  20:01, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

PS: Note that the initial deletion attempt attracted no support whatsoever, here. Instead of just leaving it alone, it was relisted here; it was then relisted again after I gave a rationale to keep it. Then another active cue sports editor gave a rationale to keep it, but it was deleted anyway after all this extended deletion campaigning, on what sure looks like WP:IDONTLIKEIT / WP:IDONTKNOWIT grounds. Templates are not supposed to be listed for deletion again and again and again until someone finally gets the right WP:PARENT and gets the deletion they're seeking, for sourcing templates they don't understand the point of, for sources they don't know, for a topic area they know nothing about. The closest thing to a real rationale provided for deletion is totally senseless: "it does harm because it is yet another template that editors are expected to know about". By that reasoning we should just delete all templates. And that entire WikiProject has only something like 8 citation templates, named after the sources. This is hardly some memory "burden". While the it was correct that the version then under consideration did not do much (just two parameters of data), that is not the case with the current (well, recent) version. It provides something like 5 parameters of data that would have to be repetitively entered. The earlier version was also subjected to blatantly improper WP:FAITACCOMPLI, being subst'd out of use by those trying to delete it, so they could say "it now seems that it is no longer in use for any Wikipedia articles." It's also noteworthy that three of the "delete" !voters are editors in frequent conflict with me, but who do not edit cue sports articles. Why is it that every time I take an announced wikibreak, this project's templates and other materials come under attack, I do wonder. I know someone else who has noticed this effect; every time WP:CUE people don't seem to be around much: Fuhghettaboutit.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  21:10, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

  • You are hopelessly long-winded. I see nothing irregular in the deletion discussion - there has only been one. Nothing has changed since the discussion closed. So I am certainly not going to restore the template. I tend to favour the 'delete' view anyway. If you had used the template to populate category:Topics in the A to Z of Billiards and Pool it might have been different. What you can do now is: a) raise the matter at DRV or b) follow up the offer from the Plastikspork (talk · contribs) "if someone would like it moved to userspace or projectspace, let me know". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:14, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Could you userspace it please? Plastikspork is not active, and hasn't been for almost 3 weeks. Never mind. I'm not sure you understand the nature of the source or of the articles. "A to Z of Billiards and Pool" is just the subtitle of the publication; it's a general sports journalism source (like Sports Illustrated), only specific to pool and billiards. They cover all sorts of news in these sports. It is not some kind of encyclopedia or dictionary. And it's no like I could use it to populate anything when you and others keep deleting it. And yes something has changed since the old discussion closed: I created a new template that does more than twice as much work for the editor as the original did. The original delete rationale hinged on the fact that it only provided pre-set data for two parameters.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  02:04, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

If it is correct that "I created a new template that does more than twice as much work for the editor as the original did." then this isn't substantially similar, and therefore isn't a valid G4 speedy in any case. I will support a DRV overturn on those grounds. DES (talk) 02:17, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Wouldn't just undeleting it be more expedient? I'm not here to press WP:PROCESS on "was this deletion wrong", I just want the template back, since I was using it. I went to the Kelly Fisher article to use it again and found it was deleted.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  04:04, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Then again, it occurs to me if it gets userspaced and I put it back where it belongs, even after further improvement, someone will probably just delete it again. Without DRV overturning this particular deletion, technically it would constitute "previously deleted content". Sometimes WP has too much WP:BUREAUCRACY for its own good.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  04:08, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Including the band 'lower the tone'

Hi, Not sure if it's possible but I'd like to address the deleting of 'lower the tone' as a rockabilly band. Lower The Tone are a neo-rockabilly and I would like to defend this genre of music, one way is to have our link in the rockabilly page and link to ours from there. In the 80s, Neo-rockabilly was a great influence to other bands including ours and trying to get people to understand what it is has become very difficult. Our style takes any genre of music and translates it into a simple format of skiffle/country/R&R. This is unique and I would like it supported more. Please consider supporting a page for Lower The Tone. Regards, Simon PS; I completely understand why we would not be accepted and your opinion will not be challenged with regards to wiki rules...keep up the good work. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Styleruk (talkcontribs) 11:01, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Nine Degrees of Autism

Not about taking the piss, but about an entirely different topic. Nine Degrees of Autism. Hello RHaworth, Apologies in advance for being completely new to Wikipedia and not knowing how to do anything, including possibly abiding proper Wikipedia etiquette (I read your "wikify" note in the blue box above but there's still the chance I'll mess something up) or even putting this message in the wrong place. First of all, the article in question that I am writing about is not related to 24-hour urine collection discussed above, I am simply writing here because I didn't know where else on your page I could write. The reason you deleted it was because it violated Wikipedia's policy on copyright infringement. I am working on behalf of Philip Wylie, the researcher and person responsible for creating the Nine Degrees of Autism developmental model, to create a wikipedia page for his developmental model. He has provided me with all the content and sources that he feels are relevant to a proper Wikipedia entry, and instructed me to copy-paste certain information directly from his website, http://ninedegrees.pw/, which you flagged as being copyright violation and therefore deleted the entry I was working on for him. I'm not upset at all about this, mind you, because I have no idea how this works and really have no business being upset over something that's my fault. So please tell me the best way to create a proper, functional Wikipedia entry on this subject, without violating Wikipedia's terms. If the creator of content gives his explicit permission to copy-paste information, is that still not allowed? Should all content from other sources be paraphrased? Much appreciated! Have a pleasant day. — Nmizrachi1990 (talk) 04:41, 20 August 2015 (UTC)Nmizrachi1990

  • Yes, you did put the message in the wrong place! Was it too difficult to see that new messages go at the bottom? Please reply. Yes, if explicit permission is given and, more importantly, if the text is encyclopedic, then it may be used. But in this case the author seems to have reliquished copyright to Routledge, who as a commercial publisher, are unlikely to allow it to be used. "Should all content from other sources be paraphrased?" Yes, but your wording suggests a poor attitude - you should read all the sources then put them away and write the text out of your own head. But in any case, kindly have the decency to wait for someone with no COI who thinks this developmental model is notable and can provide independent sources to support that view. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:14, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Deletion log entries

Just a small note but your deletion log entries from CFD seem to be adding an odd "#" that's causing an error in the summaries. For example, your deletion of Category:Kopychyntsi says "[[(G6: Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/#Category:Kopychyntsi]]" which causes an error when linked to. It's not a big deal but it's a lot more work later if someone wants to follow the link to the reasoning. I think it's the G6 call you're adding. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 21:01, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Let's be real. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 05:03, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

  • What on earth is "let's be real" supposed to mean? The fault lies with Marcocapelle (talk · contribs) who is mis-using {{db-xfd}}. Please look at Category:Slovenian pentathletes. The first deletion shows the problem. This is because Marco used {{Db-xfd|Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2015_August_10#Category:Slovenian_pentathletes}}. I then restored, applied a tag of {{Db-xfd|votepage=Log/2015_August_10#Category:Slovenian_pentathletes}} and deleted. Result - valid deletion log entry. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:02, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Template:?

(talk page stalker) Gooday. I am looking into a sequence where an infobox template was deleted by yourself (T3), hence why I have arrived at your page. I don't understand the variables (e.g., hard-coded references) and I need to do more research, but my supposition is that an editor systematically substituted the infoboxes in a sequence also involving bulk-templating of AfD's, then had the original infobox deleted as redundant. This goes back nine months, some articles were deleted under AfD and a few (very few) editors have been trying to restore what was systematically decimated, so maybe you'll understand the amount of research needed as I don't have 10 years' experience to draw on. I don't know if the infobox template deletion was discussed, or should have been, or why the editor concerned took it upon himself (unilaterally, I surmise) to spontaneously do all this. I have very little Wikipedia time presently, so this may be a few months' hence. Thanks. -- Rocknrollmancer (talk) 10:27, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

  • Why on earth did you place this message in the Aindra Dasa discussion - it seems to have no connection whatsoever? Please reply. This in turn means that {{tps}} is not needed - you are just a normal new contributor to this page. Your message is very difficult to understand but without links to the template/s under discussion it becomes meaningless waffle. If you want me to even express an opinion, I need links. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:02, 22 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the response - apologies that it appears as meaningless waffle. When I arrived at your page to check the user rights of the individual who actually carried out the Template deletion, I noticed a message requesting info on the Aindra Dasa deletion, but I was not prepared for creating a separate section, so added to the existing content in that I would easily know who and where you were for the future from my watchlist. I apologise if this seems vague, tenuous and improper procedure. I am trying to draft a fuller response you would better-understand, but presently cannot find a link I need (a lot of it goes back to late 2014, so it's not urgent). Later. -- Rocknrollmancer (talk) 20:55, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Well, entering that exact phrase, AKdot into Google turns up a number of legitimate hits related to the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, which I believe was the redirect's target. So how exactly is this an "implausible redirect"? RadioKAOS / Talk to me, Billy / Transmissions 19:10, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Faith Action University

Dear Roger, sorry for the errors and all the hassle when attempting to create new categories on the Faith Action University page you deleted: It was thought that it was appropriate to create a longer list of new wiki categories, but that went wrong and was corrected. Kindly have a great deal of super extra patience.

FAU is not for profit and does not advertise or promote itself nor anyone else, but is notably serving a community of 81,000 ministers for years. I hope you have no problems with the corrected page, which will be well maintained. Thank you, FemtoTaz (talk) 19:32, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Lebanese Muslim Association

Hi, I have seen that you deleted my Wikipedia page that I created named Official Lebanese Muslim Association. You cited that it was a duplicate of another Wikipedia page called Lebanese Muslim Association.

We are the Official organisation based here in Sydney Australian and I;m the media manager of our organisation. I have been trying to set up this page for month's but it keeps getting deleted because the other account' Lebanese Muslim Association has incorrect information and was created by someone who has the wrong intentions, even the image they have used is the wrong one of our mosque and organisation.

Can I please have the information you deleted and ask you please restore the page or I will be creating another one. I don't understand what gives you the authority to delete my page when we are the official organisation. I have also contacted Wikipedia and notified them so I can figure out who the other person is who has created the Wikipedia page.

I ask for you to please provide me with he content you deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Widyan Fares (talkcontribs) 00:22, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

  • You don't need to "contact Wikipedia" (whatever that means!) to figure out who created a page - learn to read an edit history! Clearly you have very little concept of what an encyclopedia is. These edits were little better than vandalism. You completely replaced a well-written and well-referenced article with your own unencyclopedic piece being largely a cut&paste job from your website. Ideally, because of your COI you should not be contributing to the page at all but correction of errors will be OK providing they are properly referenced. Any major changes should be discussed on the talk page first. Provide you with the content I deleted? You already have it! Here and on adjacent pages. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:58, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

You're still not getting it. The page Lebanese Muslim Association does not have the right information and I tried creating it but you kept deleting it. I also tried editing the page I linked but they got rid of my edits. All I want is to be able to correct the misinformation because whoever has created that page has not done their research despite the links they have, it's not an accurate depiction of the organisation. I'm not an expert on Wikipedia nor do I want to be. I just want to make sure the Wikipedia page is at least updated even the pic they use is not of the right mosque so could you please tell me how I contact the creator of Lebanese Muslim Association. As for your 'vandalism ' comment I rewrote all the information in my own words from scratch and was in the process of referencing before you jumped the gun and deleted the page. Also the page I linked is not well referenced because all the information is wrong! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Widyan Fares (talkcontribs) 02:39, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

  • You are the one who is not getting it. Let's start with the easy one: the image is not "wrong" - it does not purport to be of your mosque; it is part of a general infobox. If you want a picture of your mosque, pull your finger out - get a properly licensed image and upload it to the Commons - curiously there already is this Commons category waiting to receive it! Then use the image in the article.
Re-writing the text did not stop it being near vandalism - it was still totally inappropriate.
In fact the creator of the page is no longer active so you are better talking to more recent editors. I have already told you that you find out who they are by looking at the edit history. Why have you not done so? Please reply.
My recommendation is that if you propose serious changes to the article, discuss them on the talk page first and be prepared to wait for replies. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:40, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Deleting of page Virtual patient systems

Dear RHaworth, you have deleted this page virtual patient systems due to duplication with this page virtual patient. Although they are closely related (that´s why I included cross-references), it covers different topics. Virtual Patient Systems are the softwares (and sometimes also hardwares) used to create and deliver virtual patients, whereas a virtual patient is the content and didatical concept, not the technology. After creating the Virtual patient systems page I intended to move some of the technology related stuff from the virtual patient page since this page in my opinion is currently a mixture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Virtualpatients (talkcontribs) 14:24, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

  • Your user name suggests COI. Preferably you should not be writing on this topic but in any case please declare any COI on your user page. Even if it had not been a fork, virtual patient systems would have qualified for deletion as a "directory" page. It was essentially just a set of external links. Please discuss any proposed changes at talk:virtual patient and obtain agreement before proceeding. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:58, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth. Just a note that YouTube Gaming, which you deleted as obviously invented by the article creator, is a real thing - as a quick Google search would have showed - and reverting to the redirect which previously existed would have been preferable to deleting it outright. Not a big deal, but you just deleted Template:Imperial-meetup as I was about to decline it. Olney Amputee Dove Hunt

I have fixed the problem I had at my User:PatAlexander. I would like to retrieve from you the text I had used for the Olney Amputee Dove Hunt article. I have read all of the information provided to me today in this User talk:Patalexander#Several explanations. What I am not clear on, was the article deleted because my User pages was on speedy deletion or was there another reason it was deleted. I would appreciate any information you can provide me to may this an acceptable article. Thank you. -- PatAlexander 20:12, 31 August 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patalexander (talkcontribs)

  • The answer to the specific question you are asking is very simple: Olney Amputee Dove Hunt was deleted because it duplicated One-Arm Dove Hunt . Unfortunately for you and slightly amusingly your activities triggered the deletion of not one but two well established articles. It does not matter which of your activities did the triggering, both of the deletions were well-considered and valid irrespective of how they were brought to the nominators' attention. Both articles simply slipped through the net when originally created and also notability standards have become more rigorous.
My recommendations. If you are doing paid editing you must declare this explicitly on your user page and on the talk page of any article to which it applies. If you have a COI you must similarly declare this on the article talk page. International Child Amputee Network may possibly be notable - try submitting via AfC. But the shooting of one-armed doves is a very local event and is unlikely to be accepted. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:30, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

New Ramoans

Thank you for reading my inquiry. Concerning the page you deleted very recently, I can show credible source as to why this amendment is a credible entry into the Kayfabe page: Raymond Pettibon; [3] [4] an artist who is very well established, and is an integral part of this entry. Raymond Pettibon has publicly sided with the modern wrestling group, and along with professional wrestlers Paul London and Chris Sabin, have enacted a soon-to-be established wrestling group that gives credence to the page New Ramones. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Erickson.matthew (talkcontribs) 10:07, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Also, why does the person who initially marked my page "not give a fuck"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Erickson.matthew (talkcontribs)

  • Erickson.matthew, a two-sentence stub with shouting and absolutely no references stands no chance of survival. But please do not try to re-create - kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your group is notable and writes about it here.
As to your second comment: there is no need to copy&paste (in the wrong manner!) most of the guy's user page - create a link. If you were capable of recognising links, you would have noticed that the user box about which you are complaining: User:UBX/DGAF contains a link - follow that link! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:48, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

object to your speedy deletion

What is this? I expressed my disappointment in this note at the speedy delete nominator's page. Then when I hit return I see a redlink for The Elgamal Foundation, and find that it has been deleted. Did you read the Talk page? There were two objections to Speedy deletion. Do you completely dismiss my point that a brand new editor should be given a chance?

You are an experienced editor, I don't think you should be doing this. This is exactly the kind of thing recently being discussed at WikiProject Editor retention, as part of what is wrong here. Would you please simply restore the page, I ask of you. --doncram 12:56, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

  • You are also an experienced editor so you should know that it is totally unnecessary to clutter this page with a copy of the deletion log entry - I am perfectly capable of following a link - such as you could have provided to WP:RETENTION. Deletion of "Elgamal Foundation"

I had conjured a fairly, completed article yesterday for the article The Elgamal Foundation, however due to being a new user coupled with an unforunate deletion of my work, it appears to you as incomplete. What course of action would advise and just for future reference, what is the determiner of how "complete" an article is? Thanks--- please reply — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arentwelucky12 (talkcontribs) 14:25, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

  • I don't know where you did your conjuring but the only thing that reached Wikipedia was an infobox. Google has never heard of the foundation so I advise you to give up. But if you insist, you could try AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:13, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Fort York Guard

Hi RHaworth – you just deleted a photograph entitled File:Fort York Guard 2015.jpeg on the basis of "F9: Media file copyright violation without credible claim of fair use or permission". However, I believe you are mistaken, as the image is licensed under Creative Commons, as you will see at this link. Clicking on "Some Rights Reserved" on the right beneath the image, you are taken to the Creative Commons licence [5] which allows for free sharing for non-commercial purposes with proper attribution (which was done on the original image upload). Let me know if somehow I am mistaken, but otherwise please reupload the file you deleted. RogerSheaffe (talk) 14:12, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

  • What's with the ridiculously long URL? Wikipedia does not allow the NC (non-commercial) clause. Please find an image with a {{cc-by-sa-4.0}} or less stringent licence and upload it to the Commons or use the image shown here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:13, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Hi, in reply to the article you just deleted without notification, although links were added, proving the importance of this person, Oscar-nominated, award-winning director Dominique monkery, former Disney animator, (which you reproached, and i took hours to put these links), https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominique_Monféry

i would like to know what you still reproach to have deleted it. IMDB, Allocine were added, which prove the importance of this director, Disney animator.

in addition, as I wrote in the contestation of the deletion, there are articles in wikipedia on this person in french, german etc. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominique_Monféry https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dominique_Monféry

this person is also on Disney wiki. http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Dominique_Monfery

all the films of this director are on eng wikipedia. here are examples of it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eleanor%27s_Secret https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_and_the_Turtle_Lake_Treasure https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destino

when i have put the filmography of of this person, i have even included as reference, the imdb links to these films. and the title was directing to their respective wikipedia articles.

i have also created an article on his last film "au fil de l' eau", an award-winning animated short, in qualifications for Oscars. but apparently it was deleted as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Au_Fil_de_l%27_Eau&action=edit&redlink=1

I have cited my own words, put the citation in italic with the proper reference http://www.sndfilms.com/on-flying-water/ what do i need to put more so that you delete everything? i can't write an email asking confirmation of the right to use copyright material, since it is myself. the citation's copyright is on the imdb page of the film, with the same logline on the SND's website. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4599064/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ql_6 authors stated: Julia Pajot, myself, the producer and composer of the film, and Sydney Neter, the distributor of the film.

about the email confirmation, my email is on the imdb page, i am attached to the film's page http://www.imdb.com/name/nm6910935/resume?ref_=nm_ov_res

what is the use of having an imdb page with all our awards, credits, if, although we add these links on the wikipedia page to prove our importance, you delete the page? especially since there are millions of page in other languages, on the person you reproach of not being credibly important? I am asked to add links, which i add, and the page is deleted without notification as to what needs to be added, without any possibility of "improvement".

the only option is to link the Person's wikipedia article (example Dominique monkery's article in french) to the same article in another language, instead of creating an article about that same person, in english.

thank you for your comprehension. best, jpajot7 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jpajot7 (talkcontribs) 19:37, 2 September 2015 (UTC)
