Draft namespace redirects

I noticed that you deleted Draft:Rashmi Uday Singh, a redirect to Rashmi Uday Singh. Do such redirects meet one of the criteria for speedy deletion? Godsy(TALKCONT) 23:00, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

Which one(s)? — Godsy (TALKCONT) 23:22, 1 September 2016 (UTC)

  • R3 is good enough for me. And in the case you quote U1 also applied since Fitindia had moved the draft to mainspace and then requested deletion of the redirect. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:37, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of Anupam Kaler

Hello sir , With due respect, i just want to know that why my userpage gets deleted ? As you can see, i always been tried to enlarge Wikipedia database. But due to lack of some citations, one of my page "WebsiteOx" gets deleted which wasn't any promotional activity at all. I can never mean to misuse of this platform which helps me to increase my knowledge about world. Please reactive my userpage. And also please help me that how can i provide more info about different topics. I am willing to work to bring a lot of singers' database (specially from India) and monuments of India onto Wikipedia . But they may have less citations or references as they aren't much popular on records. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Anupamkaler (talkcontribs)

  • A simple case of a fake article. Re-write in the first person (I,me) and say a bit more about what you do on Wikipedia and it will probably pass muster. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:37, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

Dong

Please reconsider deletion of WCW Ding Dongs. Ample background documentation through newspaper articles, two printed books, and numerous online references were provided. With respect, I ask that you please reconsider the deletion. It took considerable research to put this together. I have no knowledge of whatever consisted in the 2007 article that was led to its deletion - I am presuming insufficient sourcing leading to a consesus of lack of relevance - this new page had more than enough sourced background to qualify. I am uncertain if as an administrator if you can easily see the talk section of the deleted article, but I and another contributor afterwards provided strong background to refute any claims of irrelevance on the part of the silly tag-team described. And finally, if this tag-team cannot be listed in Wikipedia due to "lack of relevance" (which the sourcing proves otherwise), to be consistent would require the deletion of numerous other wrestlers that are on Wikipedia (Tiger Chung Lee, Mr. X, Reno Riggins, Tom Stone, among others).

Yes, it's a ridiculous gimmick, but they were a notable part of pro wrestling lore and one of the signatures of the reign of Jim Herd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marino73 (talkcontribs)

  • To leave a talk page message unsigned is bad but to actually remove the signature applied by SineBot is absurd and ridiculous. You also need to learn to link to pages when you talk about them. The previous AfD discussion is not very promising and I cannot think that they have become more notable in the last nine years. But if you really think you can create a good article, re-submit via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:37, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi RH, I am still relatively new to doing this. While updating several pages I have only created three original ones, and this is the first that was deleted. The reason for the deletion of the previous article was cited as relevancy, and lack of references. To counter (which was in the new version that I created):

The page is deleted - the only reference I can supply to it is Ding Dongs or [[1]]

Arguments for the original deletion: 1) Relevancy (only were in WCW few weeks) - The team of Sartain and Evans was a tandem not just for a few weeks in WCW, but for several years overall. 2) Matches (only were on TV once) - Per sourcing supplied, they wrestled five times on television and twenty two matches in WCW overall 3) Sourcing (only online) - Not seeing the original article but only the reasons for its deletion, it appears that it was removed because only a few online references were given. I supplied to two literary references to the team, and another poster subsequently supplied a newspaper reference. And I provided additional online references to all four points here. 4) Relevancy - The sources supplied in the article also point to the unique nature that the team occupies - it's considered one of the worst gimmicks of all-time, and a signature event in the early transition of WCW into the Turner Entertainment umbrella.

As for the signature - sorry, did not realize I needed to do so. I don't have the article saved elsewhere so I cannot repost it without spending 1.5 - 2 hours recreating it. — User:marino73 —Preceding undated comment added 18:39, 2 September 2016 (UTC)

  • Re "the only reference I can supply": you mean link rather than reference. What earthly purpose does a link to Ding Dongs serve? It has nothing to do with your page. You provide a link, in the wrong format, to the talk page of your page.so why could you not provide a similar link to the page itself? But above all, why was it too difficult for you to provide this link: The Ding Dongs? Please reply.
"Arguments for …": you need to learn the wiki markup for lists. But why are you telling me this? I told you re-submit via AfC - just do it. OK, you need a copy of your text - read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:38, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

Hi RH, I've just added the email address to my account. When you have the time, please send me a copy of the text of the article for the Ding Dongs.User:marino73 —Preceding undated comment added 17:24, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

Deleting contact graph

Hey, I just don't think it's fair to speedy delete an article after I tried to explain myself on the talk page. I only used a few sections and references from a source, and I reworded it after the complaint (not that it was a significant paragraph of the source, anyway). I've put back a minimal stub, but I feel justifiable to put back the re-worded article you deleted. SyP (talk) 21:31, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

New

Good day Sir, We are new at Wiki and attempting to cover an article on a section of Americas internal community and Africa shared history, of relevance today. Our first try was not good and too long, so we tried seperating in 4. Purpose, different cultures read history from difference aspects. Where to one region and culture geographics is of relevance, to another the circumstances and details in terms of thrones history are of critical relevance. There we left that as part 4 because we will need we thought to do that totally under category of cultures.

1. Project Regional History > /Article Topic User:Zoey_Wipf/Shebah_III_Of_Kasambu_'Ra_House

2. Project Related House/Person > / Article Topic Draft:Shebah_Debra_Amelia_Kasambu_'Ra_III

3. Project Related House / Article Topic User:Zoey_Wipf/New_World_Nubia-Sheba_KASAMBU_RA_House

We have made a lot of errors in trying but learnt much and how to correct it some. May we ask assistance in review and support of this project and how to remove our page from where it is. I have no either what we clicked or did in error, but read it is on an Administrative page and do not understand. Also if this project is not worth Wiki, that is okay we learnt much so grateful, we rather also know so we can migrate it, elsewhere. Thank You. Zoey Wipf (talk) 02:36, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Draft Page ICON Engineeirng Pty Ltd

Hi Roger, I'm a Civil Engineer and I've been planning to update an important list of oilfield service companies. The list is marked with an exclamation mark saying it needs work. I've got a list of companies that are missing form this list, and I started work on one which is missing and the page was deleted, mostly because I'm new to the rules of Wikipedia, but I'm learning. I've listed many other notable companies which are not on the list in the talk page . As written, the quality of the list of oilfield Service Companies could be compared to a list of cars makers without Rolls Royce or BMW.

I plan to add pages for companies like this... [allseas.com] [Heerema.com] [ICONeng.com.au] [cameron.slb.com [sapurakencana.com]

I was working on one of the companies ICON Engineering Pty Ltd and it was deleted. The page was recovered to my user page User:John21rope/ICON Engineering Pty Ltd so I could fix the references, but the working file has now been deleted by RHamworth. It was deleted by 09:36, 22 August 2016 RHaworth. I'm wondering if you could 1) restore this page so I can continue working on it and 2) give me some advice on what's wrong wiht the page as written. Once I've got one company done, I will go and fix the rest of this list. Thanks in advance -- John21rope (talk) 15:41, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

  • What's wrong? What deletion reason appears against Draft:ICON Engineering Pty Ltd? Restoration: I have a suspicion of COI. To prove me wrong, forget Icon for the time being and come back to me when you haave done the articles for two of the other companies on your list. Incidentally I see no evidence that Icon is an acronym, so please do not shout its name. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:07, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

There is no COI, I don't even know them. I did a study on heave compensation and this led me to Wikipedia and the oilfield services companies. Yes, I can add other companies, that exactly what I started, but of course it's a Catch 22. Not knowing the problems with the first page I've written icon engineering pty ltd means I risk making the same mistakes for other companies. John21rope (talk) 10:01, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of page KEYSTONE

Unfortunately I can't contest the deletion of the KEYSTONE page because it's already been deleted. The page was about a company that is notable. As the text said, if anyone had had bothered to read it, KEYSTONE is the largest Swiss photo agency. Just because it isn't from a G7 country or isn't as large as Getty doesn't mean the page shouldn't exist. In fact, if anyone had bothered to follow the link I carefully created, they could have seen that the German language wikipedia has over 2000 words on the company so somebody obviously thinks it's significant de:Keystone (Bildagentur). However, that text is in German, which doesn't help English speakers much, so I thought I would start the translation - which I mentioned in my edit summary - but had less than a day to add to it before it was removed.

IMHO The deletionist clique that runs Wikipedia is why nobody is contributing any more. I certainly won't be putting any effort into it beyond this message. Thanks for all the fish. — Derrick (talk) 12:43, 17 September 2016 (UTC)

For what little it is worth, the Swiss outfit was a spin off from the Keystone Press Agency founded in London and then Paris at the turn of the century. Now that really is an article we ought to have. Perhaps if some editor could create the primary article, a well sourced Swiss version might follow. Interesting that the German wikipedia entry is remarkably well sourced, so why it wasn't brought across lock stock and barrel eludes me.  Velella  Velella Talk   13:23, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
Not sure without research. I posses a Keystone View company viewer and slides at home but my (very limited local) sources don't indicate any connection with the Press Agency. I suspect just an emblematic name that several companies adopted.  Velella  Velella Talk   15:22, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Derrick, I make no apology for the fact that Wikipedia has become more fiercely policed in the eleven years since you started editing. In the same time Wikipedia has become one of the world's top ten websites. You shot yourself in the foot in two simple respects: shouting the name in the title which screamed to the deletionists "this is a page written by a non-Wikipedia - probably a self-promoter". Barbed comments

Hi there, I created a page yesterday for my own company and did not use any self-promotion at all. The page simply stated the company's true public history and it was created by request of some clients and fans who do not know how to do so. It was also my first page, however I did hours of research to make sure I met the guidelines and I believe I did not break any of them as I read several popular pages of companies too, following the same language usage they used to describe their companies to prevent self-promotion or ambiguous promotion. Could you please tell me specifically why it was deleted and how I can edit it to make eligible to become available upon google search? Hello, a simple question, why did you delete the page on Devarshi Roy Choudhury? What do you know about the history of Calcutta? You being a British have purposefully deleted the page because Devarshi Roy Choudhury is the person who has kicked out the British claim of have founding the city. The user thinks "obviously my article is fine - it must be bias on the part of", in this case, "Zachmann and the two admins who have deleted two attempts". — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:14, 22 September 2016 (UTC)

Extended confirmed protection

Hello, RHaworth. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:49, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

Retrieve The Kingdom of Slitmal Information

Hello! I was wondering if you could retrieve the information that I was writing on The Kingdom of Slitmal page that got deleted, so I can keep it for myself. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Coolmath0101010101 (talkcontribs) 19:32, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

Deleated wiki page needed

Howdy,

I spent like 5 hours creating a wiki page for a musical artist that got deleted. Could I please get a copy of the page that got taken down. It was a draft under the name Netherfriends. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LunchBox2212 (talkcontribs) 05:38, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

Bulls Blood

I am writing a Wikipedia page for the order of bulls blood, which is a secret organization at Rutgers. I am trying to write it for a computer science class that I am taking where we are learning how to edit Wikipedia pages. I have been trying to draft a page for my project because it involves the order, but it keeps getting pulled down. It is not promotion (someone said that to me). It is for a research project, I am a Rutgers student. I am trying to make it as honest as I possibly can, and I have about 20 internet/book sources of history to write. — Bnealon999 (talk) 17:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

  • You may complain to your lecturer from me that you should have been taught that it is article suicide to try developing in mainspace. Haven't you been told about sandboxes? Try again via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:52, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

Continental Clinical Solutions Page Deletion

This page was deleted because the creator was banned; however, the article was created prior to the creator's ban and is otherwise wiki appropriate. Another user stopped a deletion previously under the same grounds. The speedy deletion, as I understood, was not retrospective. Please advise. Also, I don't have a wiki account, and do, not plan on having one. But I have no problem giving you my email address off line. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.233.125.87 (talk) 21:01, 26 September 2016 (UTC)

  • I advise you to learn wikilinks - that way a user on a desktop computer will not be directed to the mobile-format state of the page as your message did. If, for some strange reason you do not wish to create an account, you can still submit a new version via the WP:AfC process. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:58, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Undeletion request

Can you restore SPUNJ in userspace for me, thanks. -- Prisencolin (talk) 00:18, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

  • Prisencolin, you have far too many stale drafts in your user space. After twelve edits there was still very little to show but I have restored it to Draft:SPUNJ. That way its right to go on existing will get automatically reviewed in six months time. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:58, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

File:Abilene Regional Airport Logo.jpg

Hi RHaworth. I saw that you deleted a locally uploaded non-free version of File:Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport Logo.jpg per WP:F8. I am wondering if you would also mind taking a look at File:Abilene Regional Airport Logo.jpg when you get some time. The file seems too simple for non-free use and more appropriate as {{PD-logo}}, but essentially the same file already exists as File:Abiflughafenlogo.jpg so not sure if anything would be accomplished by moving the non-free one to Commons. FWIW, I was going to tag this one with {{db-f8}} as well, but the files names are different so I wasn't sure that would be appropriate. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:38, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

  • Marchjuly, now fixed. The design is so simple that we don't need to worry about copyright. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:31, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for taking a look. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:04, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of Lakeland Computers

Dear Roger, We recently set up a page on Wikipedia under the heading of Lakeland Computers with a view to using as a central reference hub for those interested in food retail rather than for commercial interest. It has been deleted and we are keen to understand the rationale behind this? We would be very grateful for your help and advice. I note with interest that there are many other, entirely commercial sites on Wikipedia: ref: Currys and certainly Epos Now that have not been dealt with in a similar vein despite the much more commercial slant to their respective entries. We have been helping businesses for 20 years and are keen to be seen as an authority in our domain. Your direction in the context of Wikipedia would be warmly welcomed. Kind Regards, Nigel Bogle. Deletion of NZRE Empire

Why was the page NZRE Empire deleted? The Empire was a micronation. Why don't any of the other micronations get their pages deleted? -- Numberguy6 (talk) 16:17, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

  • Other non-notable micronations do get their articles deleted. I do not keep records but I am sure I have deleted several. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no CoI thinks your micronation is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:31, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of Marketing engineering

Why you deleted marketing engineering? Why did you consider that a promotion? Also I would like to point out that there are other sources who discuss this topic besides Lilien et al. "Principles of Marketing Engineering", some dating back to the beginning of the century, so if anything it is obviously not invented. — Lbertolotti (talk) 00:05, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

  • Did you actually look at the deletion log entry? Who said anything about a promotion? But I agree that neither of the actual deletion reasons were applicable so I have restored it to draft:marketing engineering. Clearly it is going to need much better refs if it is to stand any chance of getting to mainspace. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:01, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of Hana Kapara

Hello, You recently removed the article of Hana Kapara. I can't find the deletion discussion or vote, the talk page is empty. I don't know in which state was the article before he was deleted. The article in Hebrew Wikipedia was also removed after a big dispute that sent waves also in Israeli news and papers. I will appreciate if you could shed some light on the reasons that lead to the deletion. Thanks Sokuya (talk) 19:11, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

  • Possibly the Hebrew Wikipedia does not have a speedy deletion process so you are unaware that here articles can be deleted without deletion discussion or vote. So please read this about a page which you clearly have not read even though you link to it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:39, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

I did read it. However I want to get more information about the deletion reasons. I did see the argument "does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject" but I would like to hear from you more about the that reason. I didn't have a chance to read the English version of the article but I know the character has significant. So didn't the article have enough sources? cited sources? Did it not apply Wikipedia:Notability (people) guidelines? I haven't seen the English article. I asking this because if I'll write a new article about Hana Kapara I don't want it to be deleted. I want to make it right. Sokuya (talk) 21:29, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

  • The only reference in the article was this link to the Facebook page for Rehovot Municipality which is in Hebrew with a poor babel fish translation of the item about Hana. I am happy to email you a copy of the article - read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:16, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Thank you, I set up an email. You can now send me a copy. I am very appreciate this. Sokuya (talk) 11:46, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

Can I have a copy of Manner of the Kingdom (AfD discussion) at Draft:Manner of the Kingdom, please? Original deleting admin has retired. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 20:35, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

  • No. The AfD discussion was clear that it was unsuitable here. But I am happy to email you the text - Read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:16, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

Enabled, RHaworth. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 23:54, 1 October 2016 (UTC)

WIAS

Dear RHaworth, several years ago you deleted WIAS. As I cannot create the article, I assume you salted it. It is nothing major, I wanted to create a redirect to Windhoek Show there... do you think you could "unsalt" it for me? I would put it on my watchlist to check that nothing damaging is happening there. Thanks for considering, With best regards, Pgallert (talk) 11:49, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

  • Why do you say "assume"? The page that tells you that I deleted it also tells you that I salted it. Your request actioned. I shall hope that the creator of the original page has gone away so I won't bother to re-salt but please watch it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:08, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. I said "assume" because I could not see anything about salting after entering WIAS in the browser url. That page showed the 'delete' actions from the log and didn't contain a "start page" link. Now that you mention it, the page log of course shows the salting. The removal of the protection is not shown, though. Cheers, Pgallert (talk) 05:21, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

Deleted article

Hi RHaworth. This is regarding an article about Crisanto Rances that was requested by the author to be deleted. Can I recreate the article in a new page? Thank you. Eoftwic (talk) 06:41, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

  • New page? No, if the person is called Crisanto Rances then obviously you must create the article at Crisanto Rances. If the person you wish to write about is a Filipino elected public official born 1944 Feb 23, then let me know and I will restore the previous version which was deleted at author request rather than for notability. But in any case you did not need to ask me! — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:40, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

(I)Lashings of waffle

Hi RHaworth, In reference to the article Ilashe, I am contacting you to share aspects of contributions that is non-conventional and thus not fitting within the Wikipedia existing rules but nonetheless has valid source and oral reference point. First, the article is work in progress and would take sometime to complete and ready for publishing so what I decided is to place the building blocks and erect the knowledge piece by piece. Ilashe is a remote community of Lagos, Nigeria, completely inaccessible by road and takes two legs of boat rides to reach. It is increasingly gaining popularity as a tourist destination. Many people hear about it but are unable to find concise information on its history, culture, location, ecology and so on... I am intimate with the waters of Ilashe, the roots, ancestry and even have pictures and records to share ultimately as part of the blocks and puzzles I'm erecting for show and tell to the world. Not every human record has a archived reference to link to .... some references come out of oral dissemination. Wikipedia must respect them as an another angle in revelation and unveiling of human history and experience, particularly if they are verifiable to their source as mine is. Kindly undelete the article so I can continue with my task. Thanks. Meshimo (talk) 23:10, 3 October 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Meshimo (talkcontribs) 23:08, 3 October 2016 (UTC)

  • You are hopelessly long-winded. I see absolutely nothing unconventional in creating an article about a settlement. Also, a place within 25 km of the country's international airport (and under the flight path into that airport) is anything but remote even if it needs two boat rides to get there. Restoring a wiki page

Hi,

I had created a page with title '359° – Worker, Writer, World-traveller' (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/359%C2%B0_%E2%80%93_Worker%2C_Writer%2C_World-traveller?redirect=no).

Unaware that the page gets published and there is not mean to hide or keep it offline, I request to delete it. However I wish to restore that page with the same content.

Kindly help me retrieving it.

Thanks Shweta — Preceding unsigned comment added by 17shwet (talkcontribs) 09:12, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

Not deleting a wiki page

Hi RHaworth,

I had created a page called In Our Bones Tour and I didn't know that I can draft it and I accidentally clicked save changes and made it public.

Can you please give me some time to work on it and not delete it.

Thanks,
