Sasural Simar Ka (English: Simar's In-Laws) is an Indian soap opera that aired Monday to Friday on Colors TV. The show premiered on 25 April 2011, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms. The show initially starred Dipika Kakar & Avika Gor as simar and roli as two sisters but after death of roli the story finally reached to its end with the story of simar and her sasural the show culminated on 2 March 2018.
It is sixth longest-running Indian series. The show ended on 2 March 2018 completing 2,063 episodes.[1][2]
Plot
The story revolves around the married lives of two sisters from Vrindavan, Simar (Dipika Kakar) and Roli (Avika Gor) who get married to Prem (Shoaib Ibrahim) and Siddhant (Manish Raisinghani) (the sons of the Bharadwaj Family) respectively, and how they become the perfect daughter-in-laws of Bharadwaj household by managing various difficult situations, solving various problems and defeating evil people coming to destroy their family.
Simar dreams of becoming a Hindu dancer but her conservative parents are against her dream, considering dancing as an improper and obscene occupation. Instead, they are planning to get their daughter married to wealthy businessman Prem Bharadwaj. At the day of the wedding, there's a great dancing contest and to allow Simar to participate in it without disturbing their parents, Roli takes Simar's place until the latter returns. However, Simar is late and thus, dressed up and veiled Roli is forced to marry Prem. This creates problems, as Simar and Prem love each other and Roli is in love with Siddhand. After some time, everybody unites with the person he/she loves and both Simar and Roli are accepted in Bharadwaj House. Later, Roli has a car accident and unintentionally runs over a woman named Sunaina. While looking around the place of the accident for clues, Simar is kidnapped by Sunaina's husband Vikrant and forced to leave her family and look after his daughter Sanjana.
2 years later
Simar returns to her family to find out Prem (Dheeraj Dhoopar) has remarried another woman called Surabhi. Simar, Roli, Prem and Siddhand also have to cope up with a supernatural creature: Sunaina's spirit who has returned for a revenge, and also with Vikrant, who falls in love with Simar, 's jealousy. Eventually, Sunaina and Surabhi (who tries to kill Simar), are banished. Vikrant tries to murder Prem and is sent to jail. His daughter Sanjana is adopted by Simar and Prem.
The story revolves around Simar, Roli, Prem and Siddhant and how they protect Bharadwaj House from some supernatural creatures who want to destroy them. These supernatural creatures include Sunaina's soul, an ichchhadhari naagin named Maya, daayans named Mohini and Indravati, Patali Devi-Gayatri, ghosts named Maalti, Madhavi and Chhoti Dulhan (Young Bride), Shaitan named Kaal, a Moon Jewel (Princess) named Chandramani and another 2 daayans named Mahamaya and Kamya. During defeating Patali Devi-Gayatri and Kaal, Simar's life gets in danger. In order to protect her elder sister, Roli sacrifices her life and she dies. After Roli's sad demise, Siddhant is remarried to Prerna (Mansi Srivastava), Simar's childhood friend and moves abroad with her. To gain his powers back and return to Earth, Kaal, with the help of some witches casts a spell on Simar and impregnates her with a child possessing evil powers. Simar has no other option but to leave Bharadwaj House with her newborn son Piyush.
16 years later
After a major time leap, the story shows Simar (Dipika Kakar/Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar) and Piyush (Varun Sharma) returning to Bharadwaj House and reuniting with their family. Simar and Prem's daughter Anjali (Vaishali Takkar), brought up by Bharadvaj's treacherous and crafty daughter-in-law Khushi (Jyotsna Chandola), has grown up to be spoilt and selfish fashionista, who hates her mother, blaming her for abandoning her. Simar and Prem together help their children in their life. Later, they marry Anjali to Vikram Sanjeev Agarwal (Siddharth Shivpuri) and Piyush to Roshni Sumit Kapoor (Nikki Sharma). After Simar helps Anjali managing her marriage, Anjali makes up with her mother. But later, she is divorced due to a series of misunderstandings created by her aunt-in-law and a new woman entering Vikram's life who's also unwillingly involved in the intrigues, and returns to Bharadwaj House. Simar brings Sanjana (Krissann Barretto) to the Bharadwaj House from London, where she was sent years back to pursue higher studies. Sanjana is married to Sameer Dhanraj Kapoor (Rohan Mehra). In this way, Simar and Prem together manage their children's lives. But later Anjali tries to kill the Bharadwajs and so is arrested. The Saga of Mystery Box begins leading to Aaliya killing Roshni by shooting her with a gun and Roshni sadly dies leaving the family in sadness and making Piyush mad. Simar is again completely heartbroken.
The show takes a leap of 6 months in January 2018. 6 months have passed after Roshni's sad demise. The show portrays the story of Simar and Prem (Mazher Sayed) managing the life of their mad son Piyush (who has lost his memories due to the shock of seeing his wife dying 6 months prior), and managing the married life of their adopted daughter, Sanjana. A new girl named Avni (Monica Sharma) enters Piyush's life and helps him in overcoming his sadness. In an accident, Sanjana loses her unborn child, leading to her and the family members' sadness. But after some time Simar comes to know about the evil plans of Sameer's mother Bhairavi (Vandana Vithlani) who turned witch and wants to destroy her family. After many struggles Simar kills Bhairavi and Piyush regains his memory and marries Avni. In the end, the Bharadvajs worship Matarani and celebrate togetherness. Simar also remembers her sister Roli and the family matriarch Nirmala (Jayati Bhatia) says that her Bharadwaj Family is not only a family but a thought and it will always be remembered as The In-Laws of Simar. On this happy note Sasural Simar Ka completes its journey.
Cast
This section may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. The specific problem is: Section needs to be brought into conformity with WP:TVCAST to reflect the entire history of the cast, not just the most current lineup. Former main cast members need to be moved back to the top of the Main cast section. Former recurring cast need to be moved back to the top of the Recurring cast section, as cast members do not cease to be of academic importance just because they've left the series or have been written off. "Supernatural cast" is not a valid subsection. Any significant "supernatural cast" member should be moved to either the Main or Recurring sections. Consider that if the series is cancelled everybody becomes part of former cast, and the label no longer has meaning then. (February 2018) |
