Requesting c/e support
Greetings @ PerfectSoundWhatever,
IDK if you are okay to take c/e requests in draft namespace. Being not a native English speaker, my content expansions are usually dependent on c/e support.
The draft I am looking for c/e support is Draft:Ex-Muslim activism in Kerala
Pl do support in c/e as per your spare time and interest. I'll not mind if you happen to be busy either.
Thanks and warm regards
Bookku, 'Encyclopedias = expanding information & knowledge' (talk) 13:16, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Bookku: I will have to decline. Copy-edits make things say what they mean and mean what they say, but the article is fundamentally written in an unencyclopedic manner (essay-like). Due to this, I believe a surface level copyedit will not solve the issues of the article, and it's instead better to work towards making the article more encyclopedic. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 20:13, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
- Sincerely withing my linguistic capacity I developed it (it is well sourced). Beyond that I need support from some one else. I thought essay to encyclopedic conversion is part of c/e if that is not so do you know/ came across any users who can help do that? I will make request to such users,
- Thanks and warm regards

Hey, reverted your hook change. I've been experimenting with dropping call signs from most hooks at DYK because of their comparatively poor performance in views. The results have already paid off with the pages I've tested. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 16:33, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- @Sammi Brie: Sounds good, sorry for changing it without asking — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 20:06, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- Nah, it's understandable... It's something that has definitely plagued me badly, and the first few "non-calls" hooks I've had have done quite well. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 21:04, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Removal of short description on Native American tribes in Maryland
Howdy - I noticed this edit and I was wondering what the rationale there was. I've seen this kind of SD on list articles, but the article in question here is not a list. AviationFreak💬 15:32, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- @AviationFreak: Per WP:SDNONE, "some article titles are sufficiently detailed that an additional short description would not be helpful". I believe the article fell under that. The short description that I changed was "Indigenous tribes who currently live or historically lived in what is now Maryland, United States of America", which is essentially just a wordier way to say "Native American tribes in Maryland".
- If you find a SD that isn't just the title, no problem, but would you mind getting it under 100 characters? — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 15:38, 17 June 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, gotcha - I hadn't seen that policy before. Thanks for the info! AviationFreak💬 04:15, 18 June 2022 (UTC)

c/e request
Can you copy edit Sohagpur massacre? It is my new article. I nominated it for DYK but I am worse at c/e and this weakness lead me to request you. Mehedi Abedin 11:45, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- Sure, why not. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 13:24, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Mehediabedin: I have completed a preliminary c/e, but will do a second pass. But, I left a bunch of {{clarify}} tags across the page, to ask specific questions about things I don't understand in the prose. Please fix what the questions ask when you have time. Thanks — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 14:17, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- @PerfectSoundWhatever: I solved all question except two. I couldn’t find his full name and their identity from google search. I tried my best. Also I added some new info in the article with source. Mehedi Abedin 19:09, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Mehediabedin: Thanks: I'll do a second c/e soon. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 18:24, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

@PerfectSoundWhatever: Thank you. I read and solved the new "clarification needed" tag. Should I remove other two tag I couldn’t solve? Mehedi Abedin 07:04, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
- @Mehediabedin: I think you can remove them. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 14:57, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
Article nominated for deletion whose draft you said should not be published
Hi PerfectSoundWhatever/Mcguy15 ! in June of 2021 you reviewed a draft submitted for publication on Alex Donahue, which in my opinion you likely rightly concluded that it did not meet the Wikipedia inclusion criteria. The article was created nevertheless later in 2021 by three accounts that have only edited that article (Curation architecture, Foxstreet9, Archhistory_curator). I have nominated it for deletion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alex Donahue. You are invited to participate in the deletion deliberations and your insights would be welcome. Thank you. 30 kB notice
I noticed you haven't edit Stove for a few weeks now, even though you have sign it up at the WP:30 kB drive. What's the hold up? CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 23:44, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- @CactiStaccingCrane: Will probably withdraw. There are many more things that I want to remove from that article than add, but doing so would put me in a worse position for the drive. Besides, can't find any sources. I realized, the drive is sorta flawed, since it rewards only additions, not actually improving articles. Besides, the articles in the drive aren't even short: Stove has x3 the amount of prose of the GA I just promoted. Broad topics don't even need to be long, since they usually just have WP:SUMMARYSTYLE summaries. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 01:12, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- In practice, yes, I would often delete a large portion of junk from the article before adding content to it. I agree that this is a big flaw of the drive. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 09:49, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
Your comment at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Shushugah
I feel I should give a more detailed explanation as to my concern over this. Specifically, I was thinking of when I did the same thing at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Ifnord#Oppose; I made the first oppose comment due to lack of content creation (which is a consistent position I've held over many years, with an essay explaining it). This didn't stop the candidate retiring from Wikipedia shortly after the RfA was closed as unsuccessful. (Also see my comment at User talk:Ifnord#Blueshift). Even if if I don't support an RfA candidate (I haven't decided on this one at present and want to see answers to the questions before I make my mind up), I want them to be absolutely sure it's nothing personal and it's not a rejection of them as a person - some editors just don't make good admins, but they're still good editors. I hope that makes a bit more sense. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 20:52, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Ritchie333: Thank you for the explanation . Currently writing up a reply where I strike my oppose (I think I'll continue to generally stay away from RfA as I did previous, not really my thing) and explain why I opposed in the first place. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 20:57, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
Waterloo
Hi @PerfectSoundWhatever, I saw your post on WP:Canada regarding Waterloo, and I was wondering if you're still looking for help. I'm a Waterloo resident, and happy to lend a hand in my spare time if there's something specific you want me to put my energy towards. Kwkintegrator (talk) 04:07, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Kwkintegrator: Hey there fellow Waterloo resident, thanks for reaching out! I'm still trying to improve Waterloo, Ontario, but progress has slowed a bit. Generally, I need help writing prose, rewriting sections, and trying to make sure everything referenced. I've mostly been rewriting sections: already done Recreation, Government, Roads, Rail, Libraries, Education, Media, Arts and culture, and Air. Currently, the Economy section needs the most improvement. Sports and History#20th and 21st centuries need expansion. History in general could use expansion, too. Some sections are overly long, like Public transportation. So, if you'd be willing, feel free to expand / improve one of the aforementioned sections. Or read through the article and try to think of gaps missing in its coverage, or general issues. You could also just give the whole article a copyedit. The source Waterloo: An Illustrated History, 1857–2007 (ISBN 978-0-9691175-1-3) is very useful and available at WPL.
- If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask! Thanks — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 04:56, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- Another few things I just remembered. Hamilton, Ontario is a very good article to model after, giving it's a FA. For Waterloo, it might be worth splitting some articles away. A split History of Waterloo, Ontario may be viable, (like History of Hamilton, Ontario) depending on how much information there is. Maybe Transportation in Waterloo, Ontario or History of public transportation in Waterloo, Ontario would be good article ideas. Again, haven't looked into the sourcing, but I know there's a decent history with the streetcars, trolley busses, and now LRT.
- Articles on individual Waterloo neighbourhoods is a good idea as well, but I have yet to find a definitive list of all the neighbourhoods, making a Neighbourhoods in Waterloo article a bit moot. There's a whole book on Westmount actually. (ISBN 0920834507) — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 05:05, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- I'm wondering if maybe the way to go at present will be to create a draft article or stub for Transportation. Could probably then put out a bat signal to some planning friends I have to point me in the direction of good resources and build it out over time. Doing so would allow you to get the one bulky/technical paragraph out of the article in advance of a GA review, even if the amount of content for a history page isn't quite there yet.
- I'll give the article a copyedit and flag for missing references this weekend, and add citations where I can. Anything more substantial than this message and I'll ping you on the Waterloo talk page.
- As to the neighbourhoods question, here is a good resource. Wish my undergrad thesis got published at some point, otherwise I'd point you there. Kwkintegrator (talk) 00:25, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Kwkintegrator: Thank you, sounds good. I've stumbled upon the neighbourhoods page in the past, it seems to be a list of neighbourhood groups and associations, not an actual list of neighbourhoods. I guess the map sorta does list neighbourhoods, but it has a bunch of wierd borders, and gaps in residential areas. (e.g. no neighbourhood listed under the Lexington / Bridge intersection). If I start a draft, I'll send it here. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 15:52, 17 August 2022 (UTC)
