Help needed to make changes to GAR template

I was wondering if somebody could help modify a few templates now that there is just a single GAR process per this close. The changes:

• Modify the {{GAR/link}} and {{GAR}} template to remove all the coding around individual reassessments. The new process will use the page naming convention of the old community reassessment (now simply reassessment).
• Change the text in {{GAR/linktext}} to say "To start a reassessment, follow this link to create the good article reassessment page for the article. Please indicate clearly how to article does not meet the good article criteria. (If you have already created a reassessment page, and the template has not changed, try purging this talk page.).
• I don't know what needs to happen with templates that will now be unused: {{GAR/editintro1}} and {{GAR/preload1}}. Do we mark those as historical or are they typically deleted?

Does anything really need to be done? It's okay for the templates to continue to have the coding for individual assessments which might be required for the historical cases to render correctly. As for the third point, just ensure the unused templates are no longer mentioned in any documentation. – SD0001 (talk) 15:22, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

{{subst:GAR}} incorrectly lets the user choose between two types of GAR: individual assessment and community reassessment. Recently we got rid of individual reassessments, and now all GARs are community reassessments. The template needs to be edited to delete the bullet that says To start an individual reassessment, follow this link to create a dedicated talk subpage for the reassessment. Note that this process is being phased out per this discussion. This sounds easy, but these templates are more complicated than they look. If no one makes this change I'll eventually take a stab at it, but someone who is good at templates could do it faster. –Novem Linguae (talk) 03:24, 13 February 2023 (UTC)

Looks good at first glance. Thanks for stepping up to help with that SD0001. @Femke, can you confirm that the new edits are to your satisfaction and haven't broken anything? In regards to {{GAR/editintro1}} and {{GAR/preload1}}, if you're sure they're no longer used and you no longer think they're useful, I guess TFD those? NAMM Interview Standard Template

I would like there to be some sort of template for NAMM Oral History Program interviews (sort of like how there is with Template:AllMusic and Template:IMSLP) so that we can have something that looks uniform across pages. (There are over 5,000 interviewees, most of which have a page, so there's a decent need). I don't know how to go about creating such a template, but it should be easy when that URLs are: www.namm.org/library/oral-history/artist. I think outputting it as Artist Interview with the NAMM Oral History Program would look the best, but am open to suggestions. Thank you! Why? I Ask (talk) 22:13, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

Library link template

These existing templates that all go to the same database system should be merged. Each of these are citable library catalogs based on the library software Primo by Ex Libris Group.

Do you have thoughts on what an appropriate name for this sort of template could be? Is the alma prefix a trademark, or is it something generic?

Is there any practical benefit to also adding a “fallback” general use case for the template where someone can specify the URL components for an institution that isn’t on the predefined options list, or do you feel that is worthy of future discussion?

I think it would totally be cool to add a way to custom-add some of the info! No, I think that maybe Primo Library Link could work as that's the software they all have in common? I also found an oddball with Emory which doesn't look anything like the others! And it gets weird, if you click on the title from this URL I found from Google, it takes you to another URL that has the same scheme as the known ones, but with "ctx" instead of "alma". Also, if you click on the library logo, it takes you to a search page for a catalog that isn't even based on the same software! Template for Wikiproject Religion userbox

This user is a member of Wikiproject Religion. What's the truth?

Hello. It would be great if someone has the time and interest in helping out to add parameters to the template {{User:Thinker78/UBX/Wikiproject Religion}} so editors can customize the colors of the font, the background of the image and the background of the text section. I am hoping to have as options the colors of the rainbow plus white, black and grey, and if possible, a hex code. Cheers!

Taxonbar template for tables

There has been some discussion in the past about upmerging low-content articles on species into list articles. A blocker to this has been the desire to include the information within Template:Taxonbar, and a solution that has been considered is to create a variant on Taxonbar that would support including it, collapsed or otherwise hidden, in a table.

Two options have been considered:

1. To include it within a note that is viewable on mouse over, and that would be found next to the species name. The result would likely be similar to the current output of nesting Template:Taxonbar within Template:Efn, although modifications may need to be made so that when displayed within the note the "taxonbar" column is instead a row on top of the table, and so that the taxonbar does not show up at the bottom of the page in an unusual way, like can currently be seen at #Notes. 2. To include it within a collapsible list that would be either in its own cell. This would need to just display a "show" button or similar, as the column would describe what the contents are.

Unfortunately, I have little experience with templates at less with Lua and don't know the level of work required for this. If these would be simple for an editor experienced with Lua and templates to make by merging existing templates and modules would it be possible to make them so that they can be used in ongoing discussions? If they are not simple to make, I will attempt to create a mockup, and look into creating them or asking for them to be created once we have a stronger idea what direction the consensus will go. I've implemented 2 in the sandbox, using {{taxonbar/sandbox|from=Q3355396|format=collapsible}}, although the code I wrote is a bit of a hack and will need some improvements if it actually goes live. For efn, I'm starting to think that you have a point that using plain "efn" is better - the issue with it not showing up in the notelist is that the taxonbar template isn't supposed to show up in templates. The only issue that I think would need to be addressed - for example, see this note, where it overflows the box - but it should otherwise be fine for a demonstration. If it is chosen as the option other changes would be ideal, such as merging the tables at the bottom rather than having multiple, but that isn't needed yet.

Adjusting Template:Smallcaps all to extended Latin alphabet

Template:Smallcaps all works with some diacritics of the Latin alphabet, but not with those that are categorized in the visual editor as "Latin extended". This template is widely used for transliteration of Phoenician, which includes letter such as ḥ, ṭ, and ṣ, with the template doesn't work with (H/Ḥ; T/Ṭ; S/Ṣ (BUT Š DOES WORK)). Add Template for citing the blockchain as a source of the article

My recent edits citing block explorers were reverted in the name block explorers aren’t reliable sources. Public blockchain data is a source of itself. Much like Template:ISBN we should be able to cite references which isn’t on the web.
