Getting its name from Fred E. Weibel who owned vinyards in the area until the 80's and was on Fremont's school board, Weibel Elementary is well-known as the school that finishes first in standardized testing among other Fremont elementary schools. Students of all grades seek donations and sponsors as they partake in a run around Weibel's multi-use grass area, accumulating stamps on their t-shirts and arms. Faculty and parents come out to cheer on the students in the biggest of days Weibel has to offer.
