File:14-1-.png

SpongeBob's parents, made their debut in "Home Sweet Pineapple", where they came to pick up SpongeBob after nematoads ruined his pineapple house. In this episode, when SpongeBob is in his parents' car, he says "Good-bye Bikini Bottom!", which indicates that SpongeBob's parents do not live in Bikini Bottom. They later appeared in "Culture Shock" as they watched the Krusty Krab talent show, and in "No Free Rides", where Mr. SquarePants kissed Mrs. Puff 's hand and gave his son a boatmobile for passing his driver's test. In "Driven to Tears" they seem sad that Spongebob does not have his license, saying how "even Patrick has a license". Mr. SquarePants has a moustache and wears thick glasses, is fat, wears a white shirt and brown pants pulled up to his stomach. Mrs. SquarePants has black hair and is dressed in a purple matchbox dress with matching sleeveless pantalets and has a pearl foot. Mr. SquarePants is voiced by Tom Kenny and Mrs. SquarePants is voiced by Sirena Irwin. It is inferred that SpongeBob's parents do not live in Bikini Bottom. Unlike SpongeBob, both his parents are round-shaped.

He is crippled and walks with a cane or a walker. He was crippled when he joined the Bikini Bottom Protection League and was injured when a building fell. He also competed in the Fry Cook Games, which was the Bikini Bottom form of Olympics. It is possibly hinted in "Rock Bottom" that he is blind. SpongeBob refers to him in the past tense & his wife, Grandma SquarePants, lives alone. He is known for his wise sayings, in which SpongeBob remembers: "If we were meant to fly, we had have propellers on our heads or jet engines on our backs."[2] and "Do not chase after a bus, especially one that's going up at a 90 degree angle."[3]

She says "You stink!", possibly indicating a bad childhood, in a flashback of when Squidward pulled a bad April Fool's prank on SpongeBob, which occurred a short time before he realized his mother was there. Squidward probably thinks she's dead, because anytime thinks he hears his mother, he says, "Mother?" She made her first live appearance on the episode, "Krusty Towers", because Squidward wanted cookies like mother used to make. She made a small appearance in "Ghost Host" when the Flying Dutchman took the form of her head to haunt Squidward. Mrs. Tentacles also resides in an Easter Island head similar to Squidwards'; the only difference is her home has womanish curly hair.[5] She is voiced by Rodger Bumpass who also voices Squidward.
Mr. Tentacles Squidward's father. He has not appeared on screen, but was mentioned in "Krab Borg" when Squidward claimed that his father loved him very much. The use of past tense has lead to fan speculation that Mr. Tentacles is deceased. However he made a live appearance in the book "Hooray for Dads", indicating he's alive. Mr. Tentacles was shown to have a similar personality to his son.

In "Enemy In-Law", she briefly dates Plankton, but turns down his marriage proposal. She is voiced by Paul Tibbitt in her first two appearances, but is voiced by Sirena Irwin in her third appearance. Her phone number is 791347. In the episode "Friend or Foe?" she was shown younger, without wrinkles or gray hair and her name was revealed to be Betsy.

It is unknown whether that is Snellie herself, a different snail but with the same body colour and shell colour, given to Ms. Puff by Squidward (this is proven false for Mrs. Puff claims to have had her sense she was a little girl, and Squidward got Snellie in the series), a twin to Snellie, or if it's just a coincidence.
  • Large Snail - seen in the episode "Nature Pants", this snail is a life-size gigantic blue-shelled snail appears and says "Meow", in the same way Gary does.
  • Black Snail - seen in "One Krabs Trash" where it hisses angerliy at Mr. Krabs in Floater Cemetery. A parody of a black cat.

  • Deceased snails - there are a number of snail shells in the old lady's closet in "Have You Seen This Snail?".
  • Picture Frame snails - seen in the portrait of 'Gramma', the snail-eating old lady. Their only line was Run!; seen in the portrait in the old lady's house in the episode "Have You Seen This Snail?."
Clams/Scallops/Shells

  • Magic Conch Shell - Seen in "Club SpongeBob". The Magic Conch Shell is a toy similar to a Magic 8-Ball; pulling its string will provide you an answer to your questions.
  • Clamu - Seen in "The Smoking Peanut". A giant clam capable of shooting a pearl 100 feet into the air. It was emotionally disturbed when Mr. Krabs stole its egg, claiming it was free day. The name Clamu is a parody of Shamu, one of the star attractions in SeaWorld.

  • Nematodes - Ravenous worms that travel about Bikini Bottom, eating anything in their path. They destroyed SpongeBob's home in "Home Sweet Pineapple." Mentioned in "Sailor Mouth." They are seen again in "Best Day Ever."
  • Sea Bear - A large animal with the body of a fish, claw-tipped fins, and the head of a grizzly bear. Squidward does not believe in the sea bear's existence; however, SpongeBob and Patrick are fervent believers, having read about them in the Bikini Bottom Enquirer (Article: I married a sea bear) and Fake Science Monthly (Article: sea bears and fairy tales are real). There is a wide range of things that can anger a sea bear, including: Playing the clarinet badly, waving a flashlight around, eating cheese (cubed, sliced is fine), stomping around, wearing a hoop skirt, clown shoes or a sombrero in a goofy fashion, screeching like a chimpanzee, running, limping (they hate that more than running), and crawling. The only thing that can prevent a sea bear attack is an anti-sea bear circle. The sea bear that appears in "The Camping Episode" takes an immediate dislike to Squidward, after he unwisely does everything that SpongeBob and Patrick warn against. It also attacks him simply because it does not like him.
  • Sea Rhinoceros - A creature with the body of a fish, and the head of a rhinoceros, these creatures are bigger and meaner than Sea bears and are attracted by sea bear attacks. The only way to protect yourself from a sea rhinoceros is to wear anti-sea rhinoceros undergarments. Also seen in "The Camping Episode."

They love jazz music.

Doodlebob proceeded to commit various atrocities (e.g. beating up Squidward, trapping SpongeBob and Patrick in a hole) before being partially destroyed by his creator via rubbing him out with the eraser. However, the arm survived. It tracked down SpongeBob and the "magic pencil", drew himself (adding a pair of angry eyebrows) and then tried to erase SpongeBob. He also appears in the Nicktoons Unite! video game as one of SpongeBob's moves in the Playstation 2 and GameCube version.

File:Primitavespongebob.jpg
Primitive SpongeBob
  • Primitive SpongeBob - SpongeGar's ancestor. He has fangs from his upper jaw, a low brow and a brown loincloth. He is one of the first jellyfishers.
File:Primitavepatrick.jpg
Primitive Patrick
  • Primitive Patrick - Patar's ancestor. He has fangs from his lower law, a low brow and a green loincloth. He is one of the first jellyfishers.

Advanced Prehistoric Era

These characters appeared in "SpongeBob B.C.". They have the physical characteristics of a Neanderthal, and have one protuberant, square tooth. They all seem to have a tendency to refer to themselves in third person:

  • SpongeGar - SpongeBob's ancestor, who looks like SpongeBob but with somewhat different clothes and with a five o'clock shadow. He has one buck tooth and hairy hands.
  • Gary - Gary's ancestor, before Leech. SpongeGar's pet. About fifty times the size of modern Gary. It is believed that his name is Tobanga Gary, but Tobanga is a BC-esque form of "come on". As heard in SpongeBob B.C. "Tobanga Gary! (Gary does not come) GARY! Tobanga!"
  • Patar - Patrick's ancestor. He has a large jaw and Neanderthal-like brow.
  • Squog - Squidward's ancestor, before Squidly. He hates SpongeGar and Patar and takes advantage of them.
  • Krabs - A possible ancestor of Mr. Krabs, before King Krabs. They run around saying "Money, money, money." One was killed when SpongeGar squashed it. Later in the episode, various of them appear when a rock is lifted.

Medieval Era

These characters appeared in "Dunces and Dragons":

  • Squidly - Squidward's 7th great grandfather. King Krabs' court jester, who curses his 7th great grandson to never be able to play the clarinet properly.
  • King Krabs - Mr. Krabs' and Pearl's ancestor, the king of Bikini Bottomshire.
  • Princess Pearl - Mr. Krabs' and Pearl's ancestor, the daughter of King Krabs. She was taken to Planktonamore's castle until Patrick, SpongeBob, Medieval Sandy, and Squidly rescue her.
  • Planktonamor - Plankton's ancestor, an evil wizard. He is the rival of King Krabs.
  • The Dark Knight - An ancestor of Sandy's. Originally a servant of the evil Planktonomor, she turns good after being spared by SpongeBob after defeat. Unlike her descendant, she does not need an air helmet to survive underwater; no explanation for this ability is ever given. She is referred to as Medieval Sandy by SpongeBob.
  • Karen - A crystal ball similar to the recent day Karen. It is common misconception to believe current-day Karen is her ancestor, but as this Karen is a crystal ball, and current day Karen is a Security computer (the security feature was found out in Friend or Foe) they could not be ancestors, and as she was Planktonamor's wife, it could be that only King Krabs and Princess Pearl are the ancestors. More info on this at 'Medieval to Current Day'
  • Blacksmith - The smithy that made SpongeBob and Patrick's armour. He resembles the Tattletale Strangler, from "SpongeBob Meets The Strangler."
  • Leech - Gary's ancestor, a leech that is only shown in one scene, without a shell and sharp teeth.
  • Dragon Jellyfish - A giant, jellyfish-like monster with ten long tentacles, a pink/purplish red body, a long snake-like tail with a spade on it and sharp dorsal fins like sharks. He is indestructible and able to shoot a fiery, electrical, radioactive lava-like substance. He enjoys eating Krabby Patties.

Mid 20th century

  • Mr. Stinky - A wealthy fish who owned the only eating establishment in Bikini Bottom that served burgers before Mr. Krabs and Plankton came along and during their childhood. Seen in "Friend or Foe?".
  • Old Man Jenkins - Mr. Krabs' neighbor who died after eating a contaminated burger. He could be a relative to the modern Old Man Jenkins, Farmer Jenkins, and Cannonball Jenkins.
  • Johnny - one of Krabs and Plankton's classmates in Elementary School.

41st century

These characters appeared in "SB-129":

  • SpongeTron - SpongeBob's descendant, works at the Krusty Krab which is still operating two millennia later.
  • SpongeTron's clones, each representing all 486 letters of the future English alphabet. They enjoy jellyfishing. Shown on screen are:
    • SpongeTron X
    • SpongeTron Y
    • SpongeTron Z
  • Patton - Patrick's descendant. He is two-headed and likes jellyfishing just like his ancestor, Patrick.
  • Chrome Painter Man- a fish who works in 41st century Bikini Bottom to spray chrome on to objects. He rides in a chrome vehicle.

Prehistoric Era Animals/creatures

  • Alarm Fish: Several large prehistoric fish that wakes up SpongeGar in the beginning of SpongeBob B.C. They make the same loud alarm as his descendant's makes. They look like the still living Prehistoric fish, the Coelacanth, excluding the large size. They only appear in the Advanced Prehistoric Era along with SpongeGar & others in SpongeBob B.C. (SpongeBob Goes PreHistoric).
  • Primitive Jellyfish: Although they do not appear in SB-129, SpongeBob B.C., or anywhere else in the Spongebob Media, however, a smaller-than-normal pink jellyfish made a short appearance in SB-129, in which Squidward goes back in time and invents jellyfishing to Primitive Spongebob and Patrick (because, they will not stop torturing themselves with the jellyfish). This could be the earliest jellyfish discovery in the series, but earlier when Squidward first goes to the past, an ancient shellfish that looks like the jellyfish swims in the distance for a short time. This could be the True ancestor of the jellyfish. It could have evolved in to the present day jellyfish, but it's uncertain. The early (Shellfish) jellyfish looks very close to a true extinct shellfish, the Ammonite. The Critter appears in the first scenes of prehistoric Bikini Bottom in SB-129. It also appears to the beginning of SpongeBob B.C.
