Rachel Rice (born 7 March 1984) is a Welsh actress and model. She is most well known for being the winner of Big Brother 2008 in the United Kingdom.
Career
Television
She has taken part in various advertisments worldwide - including the Sony Handycam 'Fairies at the Bottom of the Garden' commercial in 1991.[1] She entered the Big Brother house on 5 June 2008. She was announced as the winner of her series on 5 September 2008 beating her close friend Michael Hughes in the final vote by 51.3% of the vote. This made her the first female winner of Big Brother in 4 years. Rachel was best known in the house for her close friendships with Michael, and Kathreya, being strong willed, as well as being teased for not giving her opinions on some matters, dubbed as "sitting on the fence."
She claims to have left acting as a young child after Hugh Grant told her that education was more important.[2]
Modelling
She was second runner up in the 2003 Miss Wales contest, which was won by Imogen Thomas who coincidentally has appeared in a previous series of Big Brother. She has gone on to represent both South and North Wales in Miss Great Britain. In 2004, she won the Wales On Sunday Newspaper's Welsh Idol.
