:::::::Yes, it is the French publisher's website, which makes it reliable for proving that the series was licensed and released in France. It still won't demonstrate any notability, though. =( Also, I was merely using Bleach as an example in my above explanation, with a brief explanation as to why it didn't actually have a character list on the main article. To-do
This is a somewhat-random listing of stuff I plan on or promised to do at some point. Obviously, I like working on templates and chapter/manga lists... and unlike most to-do lists, if you've got something to be worked on that you think I might be interested in, you're free to list it here. Also, if I've previously agreed to do some task, but it's not done yet and not listed here, I've probably forgotten about it - do me a favor by reminding me! And lastly, just because a particular task is listed here doesn't mean I've "claimed" it; you're free to do it yourself if you want, in which case, you can strike or remove it from here; or, you can ask about collaborating with me - some of the larger projects are going to require quite a bit of collaboration. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 21:36, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
In no particular order:
Chapter lists
Listed in rough order of decreasing priority, which is why lists only appear once here.
- Create (sandbox 1, sandbox 2, Tenchi Muyo! sandbox)
- List of Ranma ½ chapters
- Start chapter lists for various series my library owns (Mars, Dragon Knights, iD_eNTITY, Rebirth, etc.)
- Update with {{Graphic novel list}}
- List of Pokémon chapters
- No joke this is the very last chapters list needing to be reformatted :p Sorry, i'm too scared of Pikachu to deal with it. --KrebMarkt 13:44, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'll have a look, but why are you scared of Pikachu? He's too cute to hurt you (unless your name is Ash Ketchum and you're just starting out on your Pokemon adventure)... =D 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:28, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

- List of Pokémon chapters
- Source
- Add/expand/rewrite lead
- List of Air Gear chapters
- List of Dragon Half chapters

- List of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure chapters
- List of MÄR chapters

- List of Samurai Deeper Kyo chapters
- You know the drill you write a lead and fill the chapters title holes. --KrebMarkt 13:44, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think I can do much about the chapter titles (already looked and no Deeper Kyo in the library system =( ), but I'll get around to the lead eventually. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:28, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

- Split
- General/misc cleanup
- Misc
- Poke around List of Saint Seiya manga volumes and its sublists/sections and see if I can do any good there
- Get back to work on List of Maison Ikkoku chapters
- Finish up my initial sweep through List of Shaman King chapters and see if there's anything else I feel like doing on it
- Revisit my up-to-now largely neglected chapter lists (List of Battle Angel Alita chapters,
List of Hoshin Engi chapters, List of Hot Gimmick chapters, etc.) to clean them up, source them, and just generally bring them up to date - Copy a bunch of chapter list titles from my watchlist to here and then go through them to see if I feel like editing any of them
Other lists
Find out what's up with List of fantasy anime (e.g. exactly what the inclusion criteria are) - or just what the project would like to see done with it - then work on a new layout/general cleanup- been discussed, and a new layout devised, but no one's applied it yet- Perform a full, proper, complete update of List of manga series by volume count and List of anime series by episode count, then hunt down sources for the total number of volumes/chapters/episodes (volumes, at least, should be pretty easy)
- Actually, going a slightly different route - for the manga list, adding magazine + schedule, publisher, serialization start and end dates, and publication start and end dates - format isn't set in stone, and I'd really like to add author/illustrator as well, but the table is getting crowded enough as-is (although I plan on better incorporating the volume/chapter count into the rest of the table) - also, not sure on how this will port over to the anime list just yet
- Work on splitting List of manga licensed in English, then work on sourcing (giant project)
- Write up a mockup lead first (followup to Talk:List of manga licensed in English#Padding the lead)
- Start similar lists for other languages (French, German, Spanish, etc.) - maybe KrebMarkt would be willing to help?
- Starting with Manga outside Japan - specifically, KrebMarkt has suggested starting on a Manga in France, and it sounds like there's more than enough to support such an article - from there, List of manga licensed in French is a natural sublist split
- After that, create List of licensed manga as a pseudodisambiguation page, linking to the individual language lists, and listing those languages without enough titles to get their own lists yet
- Redirect List of manga to Lists of manga and create that as a disambiguation page for a bunch of manga lists that have up till now been largely disjointed - or, redirect both to Outline of manga, which can then act as a more general introduction to the whole concept of manga, its history, and related topics
Work on List of manga magazines (follow-up on /Archive 2#List love)- largely done, I think- Start work on a series of lists under List of anime licensed in English (several already exist, but need to be broadened, expanded and cleaned up, or have their scopes clarified (List of anime theatrically released in America, for example, is woefully incomplete, ridiculously narrow, and just generally in horrible shape), and they all need to be interlinked)
- Then do similar work for anime licensed in other languages (once again, see if KrebMarkt would be willing to help out)
- And again, Anime outside Japan
- Then link them all together from List of licensed anime, similar to the main licensed manga list above
- At some point in all that (or, more likely, throughout all that), explore, clean up, expand, and (where necessary) create counterparts for all the other lists in Category:Anime and manga lists
- Then do similar work for anime licensed in other languages (once again, see if KrebMarkt would be willing to help out)
- And again, List of anime, Lists of anime, or Outline of anime (see also Wikipedia:WikiProject Outline of knowledge/Drafts/Outline of anime)
Templates and categories
Finish, test, and deploy the HTML version of {{WikiProject Anime and manga}} (will probably have to start over with a fresh copy of the current code)Done and then someFind out if G.A.S will still be able to make the {{Animanga by year category header}} AWB run (probably not); if not, see if I can poke TheFarix into doing it. Neither has the time to do it, so I filed a request at Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Tasks#Template:Animanga by year category header 9although it looks like that page isn't very active; I may just file a bot request in the endAfter the AWB run (or maybe before it, with some modifications to {{Animanga by year category header}}), turn {{Anime by decade category header}} and {{Manga by decade category header}} into wrappers for Animanga by year- Speaking of which, look at other chrono cat templates in Category:Chronology categories navbox templates and Category:Works-by-year templates and see about coding up a generic metatemplate
- Knock together some template headers and footers for {{Episode list}} and {{Japanese episode list}}, similar to those for {{Graphic novel list}}
- Clean up {{Episode list}}'s documentation, just like I did for {{Japanese episode list}}'s documentation
- See if I can find more participants for Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Anime and manga/Cleanup task force#Template cleanup
On the topic of cleaning up navboxes, hit up {{Rave Master}}- TFD navboxes (double-check first): {{Air Gear}} (4 links),
{{Akira}} (4 links - TFD), {{BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad}} (4 links),{{Black Cat}} (4 links - TFD), {{Blue Submarine No. 6}} (3 links - TFD), {{Burn Up}} (4 links - TFD), {{D.N.Angel}} (4 links),{{Elfen Lied}} (4 links - TFD), {{Ergo Proxy}} (4 links - TFD), {{Fairy Tail}} (3 links), {{FLCL}} (4 links), {{GetBackers}} (5 links), {{Gurren Lagann}} (5 links, 1-2 to be merged),{{Megamanntwarrior}} (unused/3 links - speedied), {{Mobile Suit Gundam Wing mobile units}} (unused - speedied), {{NavigationBox Mazinger Mechas}} (unused - speedied), {{O-Parts Hunter}} (4 links), {{Outlaw Star}} (4 links), {{Paranoia Agent}} (4 links), {{Robot Romance Trilogy}} (3 links), {{Samurai 7}} (4 links), {{Samurai Champloo}} (4 links), {{Slam Dunk}} (4 links), {{ToHeart series}} (3 links), {{Tokyo Mew Mew}} (4 links), {{Trigun}} (3 links),{{UC Series Coding}} (pointless template better served by prose coverage if at all - TFD), {{xxxHolic}} (4 links), more small boxes
- Do more work towards Template talk:Infobox animanga#Template consolidation and see if I can find some new participants
- See about creating a header for Animanga class/assessment categories based on Wikipedia:WikiProject Japan/Assessment/Category header - Nihonjoe might be willing to help, since he created the WPJapan header
- Do some random cleanup/work on the templates at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Anime and manga
- Fill out {{Anime and manga}} as a core subject navbox (with appropriate redirects, of course)
- Sort through Category:Anime soundtracks and give everything proper sortkeys (also, ask about preferred naming conventions for soundtrack lists and whether the cat should be broadened to explicitly include manga)
- Do more work on my Delsort.js script, and try to find some other people who may be interested in helping me with it (follow-up to #delsort.js (and amdelsort.js))
- Start doing work on User:Dinoguy1000/scripts/userlinks.js (take some from Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/User tabs)
Start on a script to replace fullwidth characters with their ASCII equivalents (stealing stuff from CodeFixer and Advisor; work off the chart at User:Dinoguy1000/Cheatsheet#Fullwidth character table)FullwidthReplacer
delsort.js (and amdelsort.js)
- General
- figure out how to get auto summaries to ignore section links (steal code for this from User:Drilnoth/codefixer.js)
- make sure it doesn't add the same summary twice (shouldn't be hard)
- come up with something better than
prompt()
for getting the list name - looks horrible on IE (ultimately, will migrate to Twinkle's interface) - list of default delsort lists, plus a user-configurable list that can augment or completely replace the default list
- AfD pages
- confirm it's an actual AfD discussion page
- check the AfD is still open
- check for identical delsort notices on the AfD page
- after this, start generalizing to other discussion types
- Delsort pages
- confirm the page exists - if not, refuse to add the delsort notice to the discussion
- make sure the discussion isn't already listed on the delsort page
Unsorted/misc
- Now that I know where in the magazine contributors are credited, hunt down Wikipedia articles that cite Shonen Jump and properly credit column/feature authors
- Follow-up on /Archive 1#FLCL DVD
Finally do something to show off my first barnstar, and find and link to that particular discussion in the archivesUser:Dinoguy1000#Awards- Start a discussion on prettifying WP:ANIME's front page some
- Start a discussion concerning multiple English releases of manga series
- WP:ANIME newsletter (maybe)
- Outreach in general
Look at Manga outside Japan - it's in dire need of cleanup and sourcing- look up, more on this under "other lists"- Sort this whole list and figure out what kind of priority I want for each task, so I have some general roadmap to doing items (instead of just picking out random stuff (even though I'll probably still be picking randomly XD )) (partially done)
Bleach Season 12
The name of the new season was shown in Episode 229 at the End, and it was published in the WSJ Please stop reverting the name, because these ARE reliable sources -84.112.37.174 (talk) 02:28, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Then it was published in Japanese, correct? Where is the source for the English translation? If there is none, the original Japanese should be provided to one of WP:ANIME's Japanese-speaking members, who can provide a translation for Wikipedia's use. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:58, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

- Really, I think we should just be using the romaji titles for those seasons that don't have an official English release yet (at least insofar as section headers); unofficial, "in-house" translations could then be provided on each season page. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:20, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Talkheaders
Thank you for informing me about the policy regarding talkheaders. I was adding them automatically without giving it too much thought. Sorry for the trouble. OutOfTimer Wanna chat? 19:32, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Weird idea but worth thinking.
Hi,
I just thought that a variant of the graphic novel template could be used to cover the Drama CDs. See an awful bad example User:KrebMarkt/mudpit3 with a good steam lined version it could become a more elegant way to handle Drama CDs. --KrebMarkt 21:00, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- It's an interesting idea, and I can help on the technical aspects, but I don't know much about drama CDs and other animanga-related audio formats, so I can't really help with template development in that regards. However, I wouldn't be surprised if there were already some sort of template that handles drama CDs, or that could be adapted for them - you might try asking at relevant wikiprojects (start at WP:ALBUM, I think, and also ask if they know of any other relevant projects that might know more). 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 22:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- Doubtful. Zero hit for drama on main WP:ALBUM page + 4 mentions of Drama on their talk archive.
- The main point of a drama CD and what sets it apart is that it's a self-contained story with plot somewhat akin audio book.
- Furthermore we don't know how to handle anime/manga related CDs whatever soundtracks, drama CDs or radio CDs. We have only one CDs related article at B class, that the List of Aria (manga) soundtracks and i'm still thinking it closer to C than B.
- Well, it also wouldn't surprise me if there were *no* such template, but it still never hurts to ask, because if nothing else, you may find someone else interested and with a certain amount of knowledge in the area. ;) We have a couple other high-C soundtrack lists, and there's a bunch of stuff (most needing cleanup) in Category:Anime soundtracks. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:20, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm refining my idea before asking them. At worst i can still do it without any template & IAR it --KrebMarkt 18:43, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, I see. I'm about to save a tweak version that uses style= everywhere and fixes some minor issues. ;) 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:45, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks :) While not very at the top of my long do to list, i want to anticipate potential additional split of Aria (manga) which had the dubious record of the biggest manga article size wise reaching the +160 KBs. --KrebMarkt 20:37, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I'm not sure it was the *biggest* (that would require reviewing every single revision of every single animanga article that's ever been on Wikipedia - a scary idea o_O ), but it was definitely right up there. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 20:39, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Just to let you know, I have originally hidden the character section from view until I could go through all of the articles since some character articles transcludes both {{Saint Seiya}} and {{Saint_Seiya_Characters}}. I will now go through all of the articles and fix that. Oh, and why did you give the "characters" heading a grey background? It seems a bit out of place... G.A.Stalk 04:56, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

As for the lighter background on the "Characters" item, that's because IMHO the navbox looks bad with a groupcolor bisecting it. (comic) instead (comics)
Please, read WP:NCC#Disambiguation for there are no misunderstandings:
Following extensive discussion of naming conventions for comic book characters at Talk:List of Marvel Comics characters and Wikipedia Talk:WikiProject Comics, the agreed general disambiguation phrase used for articles related to comics, including creators, publications, and content, is "(comics)".
The edit as you did in the Rumble Pak article is incorrect in this case. Thanks! --85.141.121.173 (talk) 22:53, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Haha I mostly remembered it because I remembered that was the original title for volume 7. It wouldn't be the first time it's reused chapter titles, I think there are two chapters called "Lee's Secret". The Splendiferous Gegiford (talk) 02:30, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Bubblegum Crisis
Generally encyclopedic categories are for articles and categories, not templates. Templates are not about the subject but a tool for article to article navigation. When you consider that templates and categories overlap to a certain degree, including the template in an encyclopedic category is kind of repeating the contents. To put it another way, these are both navigation assistance tools that are included in different places. This is why there is a whole series of categories for navigation box templates. Vegaswikian (talk) 17:39, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- All right, that does make some sense. In that case, would you like to drop a note about this at WT:ANIME? And, instead of simply removing the category from navboxes (if you do more removals), could you turn it into a link? The categories are generally quite useful for checking for additional articles to add to the navboxes. Thanks in advance! 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:43, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Kekkaishi chapter titles

Unfortunately, it's looking for now like I'll only be able to get as far as volume 12, and I also need to have a look at the uploaded chapters on ShonenSunday.com to see if they're changing anything between the volumes and the online chapters. - I'm keeping current with the scanlations, having read the first, um, I think only 10 volumes were out from Viz at the time, from the library. Where by "current" I mean, "wait for about a volume's worth to come out, then binge." I've added it to my list of series to collect used (now that Furuba is complete), but so far I've only found volumes you've already updated. - Aah, I half-expected you were reading the scanslations (shame on you! =D ). So you read manga through your local library, too, eh? How many series are you able to get through them (and what are some of them? I'm looking for recommendations since I'm coming up on the latest volumes of Eyeshield 21 and Cyborg 009)? As for summaries... I suppose at some point I should start practicing writing them. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:36, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- My local library usually has only the more popular (which means mostly shounen) series, and all-to-often only the first three and the last half-dozen volumes. I use them to check out a series, to see whether I want to continue. But it's where I first found Fruits Basket, and I currently have The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya checked out (which reminds me, it's probably due RSN). Not much there has caught my attention lately, tho'.
- Since my continued employment depends on copyright law, I'm pretty strict about being honorable about scanlations: if it's licensed in English, I don't touch the scans unless I'm committed to also reading a legit copy, either bought or loaned. Even unto deleting my local copy when something does get licensed. OTOH, I have no qualms reading current scans of a series while getting the English volumes as they come out. All the better to talk up some buzz for the good stuff.
- I have a suspicion you'd like the works of Mitsuru Adachi, if they'd ever get licensed in English. —Quasirandom (talk) 18:02, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- ETA: Oh, one good series I found in the library recently: With the Light. It's not exactly fluffy entertainment, though. And wasn't in the teen section. —Quasirandom (talk) 18:06, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Are you able to request stuff from other libraries? I'm fortunate enough that my local library (Carnegie-Shuyler Library, Pana, IL) is part of the Rolling Prarie Library System, of which about 60 other libraries in central Illinois are also members, so I can request stuff from pretty much all over the state (and the librarians here are willing to look "outside the system" for individual volumes if I hit a gap in a series I'm reading). Needless to say, I still haven't found the end of the manga I can request. ^_^
- For a variety of reasons, I usually don't touch scanslations (or fansubs) myself, but when I do, I also try to steer clear of anything that's been licensed, and when I do read/watch a licensed property, I fully intend to purchase the licensed release when I get the money.
- Hmm... I actually have poked around for some of his stuff, but I didn't find anything (I know at least one or two of his series have been licensed). Really, though, I haven't come across many manga series I can't stand (Liling Po is the only one that really sticks out; fortunately for me volume 1 is the only one in the system, since I force myself to read all consecutive volumes of a series once I start it ;P ).
- As for With the Light, I had actually started on it after it was mentioned in a project discussion, and got as far as volume 3 before all 4 volumes vanished from the system, without a trace! I just spent about 10 minutes looking in every way I could think of, but couldn't turn up hide or hair of them! It was so frustrating! DX 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:15, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Our library is a little weird about its inter-library loans. Within the system, which covers our county, it's a shared collection, but you have to go through hoops for outside it, with apparently random due-dates and heavy fines. I haven't tried using it for manga yet.
- The only Adachi licensed in English is two volumes of early short stories, Short Program. I'm up to v2 of With the Light, but our system doesn't have v3 (though it does have v4). The ways and means of library funding, I can only conclude, are not for mere mortals to comprehend. —Quasirandom (talk) 19:52, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hah, sounds like bureaucracy in action. Out of curiosity, about where do you live?
- Well, I know some of his stuff does sound interesting. Good luck finding volume 3, and if you'd like an inside look at the bureaucracy behind libraries, perhaps you'd fancy a webcomic? IP's
I highly doubt that. No IP would be regarded highly in the wikipedia community because at least 90% are vandals. Gune (talk) 19:00, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
- Obviously, you don't actually pay close attention to IP addresses. The only reason IPs are predominantly thought of as vandals is because non-vandalism IP edits are usually just quietly accepted without much fanfare, while vandalism edits tend to get made a big deal out of ("reverted x edits by 999.999.999.999 identified as LYK ZOMG ITS VANLASIM!!!!!!1!! to last version by YourNameHere"). However, there is one address I can immediately think of, User:74.137.108.115, who is well-respected at the help desk, is frequently asked to create a user account (which he has always refused to do), and has been told more than once that if IP addresses could be made administrators, various users would support him in a bid for it. In a case closer to home, if you will, the IP address User:78.105.51.236 recovered their account (User:Akata) after I asked them for some help after they made an edit to List of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle chapters, and they are now becoming increasingly active in the project.
- While it is true that a significant number of vandalism edits are made by IPs (for some reason, 97% sticks in my head), a surprisingly low percentage of IP edits are actually vandalism - 25% would be a fairly high estimate, AFAIK. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 19:09, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

While in general the template looks good, I do not understand the order the characters are listed - it is neither alphabetical nor in order of appearance. Edward321 (talk) 13:42, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

- Personally, I'd give up on an all-encompassing list - the DB and DBZ anime were always treated as separate series, so I really don't see the justification for trying to list everything on a single page. Other than that, the only thing to do is either hack in a second parameter for page name, or use markup in the lists to match more than one pagename (e.g.
{{#ifeq:{{PAGENAME}}|List of Dragon Ball Z episodes|{{PAGENAME}}|{{#ifeq:{{PAGENAME}}|List of Dragon Ball episodes|{{PAGENAME}}}}}}

Hollywood movies = Anime + Manga as global cultural product. From memories the 2nd most translated language in France after English is Japanese. Another naming form for Gin Tama
The series' kanji is 銀魂 but Shueisha also writes it as ぎんたま on their site. Since it is official I tried adding it to the article as "also written as..." but it doesn't appear within the nihongo template. I thought it was hiragana, but I'm not sure. - Thats an easy one, WSJ's readers aren't going to be expected to know the kanji, In print they would use furigana to give the kana form. That's hard to render on screen, so they use kana.I think "also written as" would be fine. At least, that's my conclusion. nihonjoe could offer a agreement or correction I'm sure. Image re-upload broken :(
Hi, DinoAdmin,
After discussion with TheFarix, i tried to upload a shinier version of the xxxHolic cover. However upon uploading the new file version, i receive an error message indicating that the file already exist in Wikipedia Commons. A message likes that:
A file with this name exists at the Wikimedia Commons. You can:
- go back and upload this file to Wikipedia using a different name.
- upload it to Commons, if your intent is to replace the image that already exists with a better version.

I made a search for that file in wiki commons and found nothing.
You can try to reproduce the bug as i conveniently stockpiled the new file version here
I think that a certain database is screwed up :(
Thanks Admin Dino. --KrebMarkt 09:19, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Block template
Thanks for fixing that up, I didn't realize that it was creating any problems having that there with the auto-category stuff. I guess it was intended for people still with active blocks on. You are pretty good with that template stuff, like I wonder if your mods there could be made into a template for ex-blockeds. Tyciol (talk) 15:54, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
- No problem, but it's really pretty simple - just substitute the template (you have to save it before you can do anything else), then if you're not familiar with HTML and advanced wikimarkup, start cutting one piece at a time and preview to make sure you're not messing it up (if you are familiar with HTML/advanced wikimarkup, you can just start carving and maybe do a preview or two to make sure you didn't clip an extra character or something  ). Other than that, I'm really not sure how many ex-blockees would want to advertise that fact like that, but I could plop the code into a new template if you'd like. One last note, I'm very appreciative that you were able to talk calmly and civilly to me here, even given how we disagreed in the past (I'm not implying anything of your demeanor here, but there are certainly people who would be unable to do so after that situation). 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:15, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

- Logical choice for manhwa and manhua, same publishers & collections, same websites & paper publications covering them and personally there are too few manhwa and manhua published in France to warrant a viable project. 92 manwha & 23 manhua published in 2008 to be compared to the 1318 manga released the same year.
- Out of curiosity, do you know how many manga are published in North America? --KrebMarkt 18:03, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- No idea for sure, but I've heard 1300-1400 bandied about quite a bit. Jason Thompson would probably be in the best position for giving an accurate count and licensing/release rate. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 18:07, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

xxxHOLiC Rō
Back from a wikibreak, and I noticed you've reverted edits about the new name of xxxHOLiC, xxxHOLiC - Seclusion (xxxHOLiC・籠). I'm not sure what would be the best thing to do but as of last week, it seems xxxHOLiC's name was changed, and the story underwent a timeskip after the events of the last few chapters. The numbering still continues onward however, so it doesn't seem to be a complete sequel, and there doesn't seem to be enough of the latest volume for it to spark its own new volume(s) starting last week. It looks like it could either be a sequel, a second part of maybe an epilogue, but Young Magazine's site considers it a new title, different to xxxHOLiC. Akata (talk) 22:41, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Change 123 (Manga)
Would it be possible to add pictures to this article: Change 123? I was wondering whether it would be possible to add a picture along with the main characters to give readers a better understanding of who the characters are. Or would another article need to be created concerning each character? I wanted to consult you first seeing as my edits are hardly welcome thesedays and I have no idea how to add pictures. Cali boi16 (talk) 18:46, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm... well, the problem is that the article doesn't show how the series has any notability - all it is is a plot summary and character descriptions consisting of even more plot summary. Establishing its notability is one of the first things that need to be done, but that could be difficult given it only appears to be licensed in France, Spain, and Argentina; it doesn't seem to have an ANN entry; and some brief Google searches didn't turn up any coverage from reliable sources. You can ask User:KrebMarkt if he can dig up any French reviews or coverage, but it really doesn't look too promising at this point (on the other hand, though, it appears to be ongoing, so there's always the possibility of future coverage or an English license). As far as how welcome your edits are, though, you did kind of start off on the wrong foot here, but you shouldn't have any problems if you stick to more minor stuff for now like spelling fixes until you are more familiar with wikimarkup and the various guidelines. In the meantime, please feel free to ask me any editing questions you may have; that's what I'm here for. *really, really trying to not sound like I'm talking down to you* =) --Dinoguy1000 (talk · contribs) as 208.124.86.54 (talk) 20:01, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, and I thank you for that. I have another concern about the structure of the article. I've kinda made Change 123 my little pet project as I'm a fan of the series and overhauled the shotty structure since I first came to the article. I've corrected many errors in grammar/typos/clarification and still have much work to do on the page. So, in your recommendation, is there anything you'd alter about the structure of the article? Or do you have any other recommendations about how I can improve the article further? Cali boi16 (talk) 06:59, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I would again stress that one of the first things you need to do is try to establish notability for the series - as I said above, I couldn't find anything in English after a brief look, but there may be some in French or Spanish. If you insist on working on the article regardless of that, though, a general outline for article structure can be found at WP:MOS-AM - the basic gist is that the characters section needs to be trimmed way back, and the article needs a media section (is the manga the only component to the series, or was it adapted into any anime series or OVAs or anything?). Just keep in mind that as long as notability remains unestablished, the article may be prodded or nominated for deletion at any time, and by any editor. 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:20, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, so far Change 123 only consists of a manga series and has not been adapted into any form of "Media". The characters section covers each of the characters roles since beginning to chapter 10. So it's a character summary for each character. Basically the main portion of this article consists of characters so it's understandable to see why these character summarys have been added. I've added a reference I think establishes notability. Is it viable?

- Excerpt(You can follow the link at the Change 123 article):
- Change 123 (ちぇんじ123, Chenji Hi-Fu-Mi) is a manga series written by Iku Sakaguchi and illustrated by Shiuri Iwasawa, published in Akita Shoten's Champion Red since June 20, 2005.[1] Cali boi16 (talk) 22:22, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, while Akita Shoten's website is a reliable source, it cannot be used to establish notability since it is the publisher's website, which makes it a primary source. I still recommend asking KrebMarkt to see if he can find any French coverage, but I am happy to see you taking my other advice into consideration. =) As for the characters, generally character lists on main series articles should only list those characters that are central to the plot (so, for instance, Bleach (manga) would list Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Uryu Ishida, Yasutora "Chad" Sado, and Orihime Inoue, and maybe one or two others (except in the case of Bleach, the characters section has been merged with the plot section, with a see also link to the character list)). 「ダイノガイ千?!」? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 17:25, 29 September 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, it is the French publisher's website, which makes it reliable for proving that the series was licensed and released in France. It still won't demonstrate any notability, though. =( Also, I was merely using Bleach as an example in my above explanation, with a brief explanation as to why it didn't actually have a character list on the main article.
