I've been contacted by {{user|Concertphotos}}, formerly {{user|Festivalphotos}}, whose username you changed. He gets "Login error. There is no user by the name "Concertphotos". User names are case sensitive. Check your spelling, or create a new account." when he tries to log in. He has (once) successfully used the account but has since consistently gotten this message. I've offered the usual suggestions about spelling, trying different browsers, clearing caches, etc., and they seem to be sufficiently clued that they've tried the obvious remedies themselves. They can't get into Commons or svwiki either. Do you have any ideas? The login sequence is definitely not my area (and maybe not yours either, but suggestions on who might understand it would be welcome).I'm posting as well at [[WP:VP/T]]. I've suggested just creating a new account, but thought I'd see if there's a known issue. Edit revert on Debito ArudouJust thought I'd let you know that I don't think that User:Nodo gordiano's edits to Debito's page were vandalism. The part about his birth name was actually correct, per both our own article and his blog, so I switched that back. The change to his hometown I think is just a mistake--according to his blog, Debito used to live in Nanporo, but later moved to Sapporo. So you may want to alter your message on the user's talk page. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:40, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
He was saying "空知郡南幌町に家を買ったんです。30年ローンで買ったんですよ。 だから、どこにもいけないんですよ" in this speech, so I thought his house was in Nanporo, not Sapporo. Anyway, I think you better read WP:ATWV carefully. --Nodo gordiano (talk) 06:55, 28 September 2010 (UTC) You say you lived in Japan, so I talk to you in Japanese. 何でもかんでも荒らしと決めつけるのは失礼だよ。不愉快だ。Wikipedia:Assume good faith ここも読んどけ。--Nodo gordiano (talk) 07:06, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
That is a lie, for you clearly stated my edit was "vandalism"([1]). Telling such a lie is not only rude but also stupid. --Nodo gordiano (talk) 21:54, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
And you said "they mostly were (wrong)." First, indeed one out of two edits happens to be incorrect, but it is ridiculous to call 50% as "mostly". Second, simple mistakes and incorrect edits are different from vandalism. You are just bullying newcomers by abusing your adminship, in addition you are unsightly trying to justify what you have done. Just admit you lied. --Nodo gordiano (talk) 06:14, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Misc translationsI noticed your offer on the RS page. One of my challenges in Eva writing is, unsurprisingly, untranslated materials. For example, I've known for the past 5 years that Hideaki Anno did an interview on Top Runner where he said that the religious references in Neon Genesis Evangelion were 'pedantry', but though the transcript is available, no translation is available. (Google Translate is just good enough for me to verify that that page probably is what it's supposed to be.) So, I was wondering whether the offer extends to material that might not be used on Wikipedia; if it isn't, do you freelance? (For example, a translation of all the transcripts would be worth a good $50 to me, and I think a translation of just that specific section would be worth at least $10-20 to me.) --Gwern (contribs) 16:26 28 September 2010 (GMT)

Request for mediation of Video games developed in Japan, second noticeThe mediation request has stalled because some of the lesser-involved parties did not answer to the note they received on their talk page. I have notified users jgp and Ost316 again, who both are the most likely to be interested in participating, though mediation cannot commence until all parties agree. If you have no objections to going into mediation even without the users that have not signed up so far, please leave a short indication of your agreement in this section at the request page. Thank you. Prime Blue (talk) 11:47, 1 October 2010 (UTC) EXCLAMATIONS!!!HEY NIHONJOE!!! PLEASE STOP TRYING TO EDIT MY EDITS!!! I WILL USE AS MANY EXCLAMATION POINTS AS I PLEASE!!! SIMPLY BECAUSE I LIKE THEM!! IF THERE IS A RULE LIMITING THE NUMBER OF EXCLAMATION POINTS I MAY USE, THEN I CAN SEE A POINT TO YOUR MESSAGE!!! OTHER THAN THAT I WOULD APPRECIATE YOU KEEPING YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF UNLESS THEY ARE REALLY RELEVANT TO THE ARTICLE AT HAND!!! THANK YOU! I MEAN NO DISRESPECT, BUT REALLY GUY, IS IT REALLY SO IMPORTANT HOW MANY EXCLAMATION POINTS I USE?ANASTROFAN (talk) 13:10, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
I am going to try a different approach and hope I get through to you. Thank you for your comments. Please do not contact me again unless you have a comment about the information I have added to a particular article. Outside of that I am not interested in anything you have to say!ANASTROFAN (talk) 18:55, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Request for mediation acceptedThe request for mediation concerning Video games developed in Japan, to which you were are a party, has been accepted. Please watchlist the case page (which is where the mediation will take place). For guidance on accepted cases, refer to this resource. A mediator should be assigned to this dispute within two weeks. Requesting undeleteHiya, I come to you because you are listed at Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles. The article FriendsWithYou was speedy deleted as unambiguous advertising / promotion. However it's been around a while, and looking at the history, it was a basically fine (if short) article a while back (before the promotional edits.) If you could restore the article or userfy it for me I'd be happy to revert/clean it up and remove all the promotional material. Thank you for your time, Siawase (talk) 14:39, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

A question about Japanese pronunciation ... if I see a long accent over a vowel, does that mean I stress that vowel in the English approximation of the word? - Dank (push to talk) 22:43, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Copy/paste moveSenkaku Islands is copy/pasted to Senkaku Islands dispute losing all the edit histories. Please see Talk:Senkaku Islands#Content Copied/Awaiting Removal. I think the edit histories should be kept to Senkaku Islands dispute and Talk:Senkaku Islands dispute. Please handle this matter. Thank you. ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 23:21, 10 October 2010 (UTC) I tried to swap the article to keep the edit history to Senkaku Islands dispute, but Senkaku Islands is protected to move. I failed the move. Please restore Senkaku Islands dispute temp to Senkaku Islands dispute and preferably swap Senkaku Islands with Senkaku Islands dispute. I will then swap the contents. ―― Phoenix7777 (talk) 00:58, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Requesting unprotection of Sea of Japan naming disputeI have requested on Talk:Sea of Japan naming dispute to have the full protection dropped so that I can replace the current article with the draft from my user space. As the original protecting admin, would you like to handle the issue yourself, or would you prefer that I go through WP:RPP? Qwyrxian (talk) 01:06, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Category/user deletion requestHow are you doing Nihon? This is Darin, thank you for your time. I would be very appreciative if you could delete the following category page ([[2]]) and the users listed in that category. I'm happy that you did what you did five years ago when I, out of ignorance, submitted those unrevised articles to Wikipedia, and I'm sorry you had to stand up to that immaturity until early 2009. But that's all over now. I want to move on from this and from Wikipedia so this no longer affects me or anyone else. I have no interest helping Wikipedia since it's anti-capitalist but if you ever need specific help with anything you can just send a message my way and I'll see what I can do. If you can do this for me you will have my thanks. Take care. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.208.41.91 (talk) 20:41, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

A small stepResponding to constructive criticism here, I tried to restate the point in different words:
Nomination of Ōmuta (disambiguation) for deletionThe article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ōmuta (disambiguation) until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion. You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. Can you help us please ?Hello Nihonjoe. We'd like to have published on ja.Wikipedia a page re an international artistic movement founded in Italy. A Japanese friend has partly translated it: can we send it to you in order to see if you can refine and complete it for the publication ? We'd be much obliged! Thanks a lot--Aeron10 (talk) 04:29, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Mucking up the pageHi, just wanted you to know that I wasn't trying to muck up the page. I had noticed a few days ago that someone has but some kind of bold header saying some pretty unsavory things up at the top. I was just trying to take that down, I don't know if I did it the right way? Sorry about that! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.218.86.128 (talk) 16:54, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

BLP IssuesI came across your name via the Highly Active Users board. Through NPP, I have recently come across another editor User:Peripatetic that has a long history of creating BLP articles that lack any references. I flagged one of his articles with a BLP Prod and he responded stating that he has created hundreds of articles and he has never been very good at adding refs, so he doesn't do it. He started a conversation on my talkpage, in which another editor has participated and stated his concerns as well. User:Peripatetic's talkpage is full of ignored warnings from individuals and bots regarding the failure to add refs on BLPs. What recourse do we have to enforce compliance with the policy regarding BLPs? Thanks. Cindamuse (talk) 02:52, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
Have an ale
Root beer: not my taste. But I do like juice. Well, that little argument over there has become surreal. I'm now accused of pushing an argument that makes no sense because, because ... well anyway my problem is that I ignore something that, um, is in fact pretty close to what I was saying just a few lines previously. Read and enjoy. -- Hoary (talk) 00:07, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
It references something that this now reminds me is the job of a steward, not a bureaucrat. Bureaucrats turn out to have remarkably few special roles/abilities, which makes me wonder again about why there's such an enormous kerfuffle about whether or not somebody should become one. (A ripple from the "Essjay" debacle, perhaps?) ¶ Here's another (a)-(b)-(c) of mine for you. If you're not particularly interested in Obama, so much the better: although a number of the regulars on that page do work there that's mostly or exclusively excellent, I've often thought that the attention of a few more unprejudiced and dispassionate people there would be welcome. -- Hoary (talk) 06:47, 1 November 2010 (UTC) Account renameMy old account seemed to be global one, but renamed was English-only. I promoted it to global, not knowing that it's not right :( What I have to do really to move other languages' histories? May be you can undo English rename and then do Global rename instead? QuestionsHello! I saw your name under HAU, and it lists you as being experienced with content. I have a few questions about Good Articles, specifically WP:GACR. First, are there any size requirements for GAs? And secondly, what's the optimal amount of pictures that a GA should have? GACR reccomends images, "if possible", but is it possible for an article to be a GA without any pictures, if none are available online?--hkr Laozi speak 12:39, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Akio Nakamori
A tag has been placed on Akio Nakamori requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding Nomination of Akio Nakamori for deletionThe article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Akio Nakamori until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion. You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. --Nuujinn (talk) 21:21, 4 November 2010 (UTC) Odd user login problemI've been contacted by Concertphotos (talk · contribs), formerly Festivalphotos (talk · contribs), whose username you changed.
