I understand that you prefer to call the character Leo Prime. But that doesn't mean you get a free pass to change around everything in defiance of consensus, policy and reality. Do not do this again. Transformers: Generation 1 vs. Original Series

The name Transformers: Generation 1 is the accepted form on the Transformers Wiki Project. Before you start changing it in all their articles, you should propose such a change on their page and let the members decide. There are hundreds of articles that say G1, and one person changing it now would be inconsistant. You should propose it as a change and see if the other member s of the project agree or not. user:mathewignash

  • Unfortantly we have no better name to go on, but The Original Series is the best that we have --The Matrix Prime

Cybertron Transformers - Jungle Planet Transmetals

A refer you to the quote from Scourge's tech specs "Cold, distant, and prone to violent rage against those he views as lesser creatures, he holds most of the Jungle Planet firmly in his transmetal claw." Thus my reasoning that Jungle Planet Transformers are Transmetals. user:mathewignash

  • Refering to these units as "robotic" or "mechanical" is the accepted form on the Transformers Wiki Project. Before you start changing it, you should prepose such a change on that page and let the member decided.. There are hundreds of articles that say "robotic" or "mechanical", and one person changing it now would be inconsistant. You should propose it as a change and see if the other member s of the project agree or not. --The Matrix Prime

Magmatron

Yes I did read the version of your edit where you rewrote the tech spec data. However, they were still far too similar to his original tech spec cards. It would take too long to upload the image so Ill settle for a link to a page with the data [1]. As you can see, the only real changes are the removal of one sentence, a few more reorganized sentences and a few grammatical changes [2]. Look, I'm not trying to get into a fight with you. I know you're just trying to improve the articles: so am I, and I don't believe tech spec data should be removed altogether. However, all tech specs are still copyrighted by Hasbro, and as such are unusable, as Centrx noted above. If we rewrite them fully, still getting the same points across in different language, we still get the information across without causing a copyvio, as shown here [3]. I hope we can find a way to work together in future. Best Regards. SMegatron 20:35, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I think we've misunderstood each other. The version of the page now is perfectly fine. However, as I said, it was the original rewrite I objected to. I rewrote that one because it was still too similar to the original tech spec. However, it looks fine now, and I have no further objections. I wasn't redoing your changes out of pettiness - its just that copyrighted tech specs, Marvel Universe bios, Dreamwave MTMTE bios, etc are unusable under the terms of wikipedia's copyright terms[4]. Because of the sheer number of them on pages, several, including Arcee and Scourge, have been reverted to a state before the specs were added in - thus losing everything else too. They were only restored after the bios were removed. At one point Red Alert was even deleted entirely because of it - the current version was restored by Mathewignash after removing all the bios. So, in order to prevent this from happening further, I try to remove them whenever I see them. Nothing personal, its just trying to make the articles look better. Anyway, I hope that clears things up between us. Best Regards.SMegatron 10:18, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Primes

I realise Im probably butting my nose in where it doesn't belong, however I couldn't help but notice the problem between you and Mat over the Prime's page. Your proposal to rename the page on Mat's talk sounds like a good idea: however I don't think thats accurate either. Its a tad ambiguous to say the least to call the catergory Primes/Primals, as a few characters don't fit either description (in fact I removed it from Hot Rod earlier today, as I didn't understand the purpose). Perhaps moving it to Primes and associated characters would help? I realise its clunky but it would probably better decribe it. Anyway, regards.SMegatron 20:26, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not at all, if anyone has any constructive criticism or relevant things to say I welcome them. I have been worried about the ambiguous of the category name myself as you noticed. “Primes and Associated Characters” might help that, or maybe “Prime Family” or “Primes and Linked Characters". --The Matrix Prime 01:25, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I rather like the latter of those options myself. Regards.SMegatron 08:14, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then it's a toss up between "Primes and Linked Characters" or "Characters Associated with Prime" (which is a better phrased verison of the first suggestion.) Which do you think is better? --The Matrix Prime 15:40, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As you're the category's originator, I'll leave it up to you. I have to admit I think the first is more direct and to the point. Regards.SMegatron 18:29, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay --The Matrix Prime

Onyx Primal

Hey there. As you've obviously put quite a lot of time and effort into it, I thought I'd give you a heads up that I have just given Onyx Primal a bit of a cleanup. I've removed and reworded the tech spec stuff , added detail of the Botcon play he appeared in and added the usual "fictional character" intro. Anyway, look it over and give me a shout if you think anything needs changed. Regards.SMegatron 10:42, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciate the heads up, looks great. I just tweaked the template a little inorder to get that color bar in. --The Matrix Prime 20:06, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Black Cat

I'm afraid your repeated claim that the Black Cat is an obvious homage to Catwoman has no basis.

CBR: "When you created the Black Cat to be Spider-Man’s new girl friend, was it linked to a desire to write stuff about Catwoman or was it only an homage?"

Marv: I didn’t plan Black Cat to be in Spidey. I created her for Spider-Woman (look at the letter column of the first B.C. story and you’ll see). I then decided to leave Spider-Woman and moved her over. So, I never even thought of Catwoman when I did her. I got the idea for her from a Tex Avery cartoon, Bad Luck Blackie.

Felicia Hardy's signature costume, cat burglar profession, and her steady relationship to Spider-man predates Selina Kyle's similar depiction in comics by almost a decade. Catwoman spent most of her comic life as a purple dressed female super villian who used big cats to commit anything but subtle crimes. Selina Kyle's current incarnation as a black suited cat burglar with romantic ties to Batman didn't occur until 1987 with Frank Miller's classic Batman: Year One.

I'm not certain if you are a Catwoman fan or are simply adding false material. I appreciate your interest in the character and we can easily take this to arbitration if you'd like.

Tau Empire revision

Hi there,

I just reverted a lot of your changes to the Tau Empire article. While I appreciate the intent, Games Workshop products utilise British spelling variants and so it is not appropriate to change the article to reflect American ones. However I kept a lot of your corrections and capitalisations and thankyou for that.

Also I kept the use of the word "evolution" as it is appropriate for this. I do not see any reason why you would have removed each instance of the word, so please feel free to discuss.

Cheers, Tim

X-Men

I was wondering why you reverted that X-Men game article into a game guide. It's been since reverted by someone else before I noticed, but I was wondering what the rationale was behind it. DurinsBane87 22:40, 22 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of fictional elements

Are you familiar with the Notability (fiction) guideline? Pages like Category:Primes/Primals fall far from the required "substantial coverage by reliable secondary sources" --Kralizec! (talk) 21:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year, Matrix Prime! Given your vast contributions to the Star Wars articles, I thought I could ask for your help and advice. I've submitted an articles for peer review, and thought that you might like to critique it:

  • Princess Leia Organa. I've listed this article for peer review because it right now seems oddly cluttered and, despite a lot of references as of now, lacks reliable source citations. Although I've already requested another peer review, as long as it helps the articles get better, I've got the time. Comments and suggestions are appreciated, as this should help me in expanding other Star Wars-centric articles.

If you have the time, it'd be great if you could look over that article and assess their strengths and weaknesses. Thanks, and, again, a Happy New Year to you! — Cinemaniac (talkcontribs) 18:43, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Giants (Heroscape)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Giants (Heroscape), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --EEMIV (talk) 05:22, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Actually because of the increasingly large number of unique monsters in the game, like Jotun here, I've been toying with idea to sticking them all under one heading, like "Monsters" or something to that effect. Not because the article is un-wiki per-say, but actually as an effort to sweep the whole mess into one pile as if it were. Still I appreciate the gesture, a few months ago you wouldn’t have been that considerate, I hope this is a sign that we can work together better in the future. Anyway, if you think it is necessary I don't mind the page being deleted. --The Matrix Prime (talk) 01:33, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Beast Machines Diagnostic Drone.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Beast Machines Diagnostic Drone.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Jandar’s Army, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Jandar’s Army has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Jandar’s Army, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. The article Giants (Heroscape) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable game characters.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Eeekster (talk) 02:09, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Heroscape articles

Do not revert me without comment. I am not a vandal. J Milburn (talk) 09:34, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then please leave them as redirects for the time being. Publish the article when there is an article worth publishing and please, if you can't find any reliable sources, don't bother, as the articles will just end up deleted. I think it is highly, highly possible that sources will not exist for many of these topics, and that they are, because of that, not worthy of coverage. J Milburn (talk) 11:56, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I see you've taken it upon yourself to, once again, reinstate a horde of useless articles. I am not going to edit war with you, and so I'll give you a few days to clean them up as you see fit. Merging them would potentially be useful but, still, if there are no reliable sources, it would probably be best just to leave them as redirects. J Milburn (talk) 12:06, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't patronise me. You have behaved inappropriately with your repeated recreation without discussion or even edit summaries (and I am not the only person who has turned these articles into redirects...) and though your attempts to deal with this issue are commendable, I remain fairly sure there is little chance of a legimate article on the majority of these subjects. The articles that you have fought to keep are made up entirely of in-universe trivia and external links to blogs/non-notable wikis. Are there any reliable sources for these subjects? J Milburn (talk) 20:02, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Right, your moaning about why I'm evil isn't going to achieve much. If you're gonna deal with these pages, deal with them; I can assure you I will be dealing with them in a few days if you don't, and I doubt I'll be as tolerant of your edit warring and baseless assertions/accusations... orphan category

Category:Jandar’s Army has no parent category, but needs to have one (see Wikipedia:Categories#The_category_system). It also seems more like an article than a category, complete with {{stub}} tag. I suggest you need to decide whether to make a category or an article, and format it as one or the other (or, possibly, both). The same seems to apply to several other "army" categories you've created recently. PamD (talk) 23:07, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the use of the non-free images as icons within this template. Non-free content should not be used decoratively in this manner, especially as the usages all lacked fair use rationales. Further, non-free content cannot be used outside the article space, but, in a few places, was used in the category space. On a related note, categories should not just be mini-articles- this is an example of a category that looks like an attempt to have an article without having to meet certain criteria. Fair use rationale for File:Universe Nemesis Strika.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Universe Nemesis Strika.JPG. Yes, I understand your analogy. Again, please don't patronise me. There is no fair use rationale for that usage. A fair use rationale is required for every usage. Therefore, that usage is not legit. Again, please read our non-free content criteria. J Milburn (talk) 19:36, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Right, it's fairly clear you don't actually know what a fair use rationale is on Wikipedia. You may want to take a read of this. Please stop adding the image back to the article until a fair use rationale has been added to the image page for that article. This is crossing the line to disruption. J Milburn (talk) 16:09, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm gonna be frank- right now, the last thing you should be doing is fighting to add non-free images to the articles; so far as I can see, there are no reliable sources cited in any of them, and they are all filled with trivial in-universe facts. I'm still not seeing why any of this is worthy of coverage. J Milburn (talk) 16:12, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then start to focus on the important stuff. Cite some decent sources. Show some real-world notability. Cut out the trivial in-universe stuff. J Milburn (talk) 16:21, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Terranotron.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Terranotron.JPG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 00:17, 10 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Einar's Faction (Heroscape), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Einar's Faction (Heroscape). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Also included are the other factions. Reyk YO! 00:22, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Primon

An editor has nominated Primon, an article which you have created or worked on, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Primon and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to address the nominator's concerns but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Mathewignash (talk) 19:10, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Onyx Primal has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable Transformers character. No real-world notability, no reliable sources cited.

Nomination of Striker (Transformers) for deletion

A discussion has begun about whether the article Striker (Transformers), which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Striker (Transformers) until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. J Milburn (talk) 16:26, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free images and lists

The use of non-free images for depiction purposes of individual characters is generally unsupported, per WP:NFLISTS. Further, the usage you attempted on List of Beast Wars characters violates WP:NFCC #10c. I've reverted your re-additions. Please do not reinstate the images. If you have questions, ask. Thank you. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:17, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • And re this edit summary It indeed is a limitation. It doesn't mean you can add 15 images. Further, the images directly violate WP:NFCC #10c. You can choose to abide by our policies, or not. If not, there will be consequences to your editing privileges. Again, if you have questions, ask. Edit warring to your preferred version is not the way forward. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 15:21, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that you prefer to call the character Leo Prime. But that doesn't mean you get a free pass to change around everything in defiance of consensus, policy and reality. Do not do this again. Regards Eager Thought (talk) 18:17, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
