Template:Future film Ratatouille is the eighth animated feature film produced by Pixar, scheduled for release in 2007. It is the story of a rat named Ratatouille who lives in a Parisian restaurant run by a famous chef.

This would have been the first Pixar film released after ending their previous co-production deal with Disney. Some distributor choices named were Warner Brothers, Sony, Universal Studios, and 20th Century Fox. But on January 24, 2006, Disney announced it would purchase Pixar in a $7.4 billion (US) deal that will merge the two companies. Note that prior to the merger being announced, Disney and Pixar actually announced an extension of their current partnership to include Ratatouille in case the closure of the merger took longer than expected.

The director will be Brad Bird, replacing Jan Pinkava, director of the 1997 Pixar short film Geri's Game. The screenwriters will be Emily Cook and Kathy Greenberg, both making their feature film debuts.

E! has posted that comedian/actor Brad Garrett, voice of "Bloat" from Finding Nemo and "Dim" from A Bug's Life, will provide the voice of the Chef in Ratatouille.

The movie will be released by Disney. Boxofficemojo.com has the release date listed as June 29, 2007.[1]
