Welcome to my Talk Page! Administrative
When he left her room, he turned and, noting her swollen and bruised upper lip, told her, "You better put some ice on that." Please post new messages to the bottom of my talk page. Please use headlines when starting new talk topics. Also, if you come to attack other user, read this first. Thank you. Happy First Edit Day!May there be more in the future. I hope your Wikibreak is going well, and that everything gets accomplished IRL. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 19:07, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

Request for assistanceI posted the poll concerning the Community Portal to protest the reversion of the Community Portal to a months-ago version, and specifically asked in the poll for the immediate reversion of the reversion by having Wikipedia:Community Portal/Redesign/Draft1a returned to its proper place. The plea has gained overwhelming support, and the community has made it clear that they want that draft back on the Community Portal page. The CP is protected, so this requires that an admin do it. Please copy draft1a onto the Community Portal. Sincerely, --Go for it! 17:39, 6 April 2006 (UTC) Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #2
My RFAHi Titoxd. I don't want to mass thank everyone because that wastes server space, but I wanted to personally thank you for your support in my RFA, since we talk in the counter-vandalism channel on IRC.--Adam (talk) 20:46, 7 April 2006 (UTC) WVWPHey, I'm going to borrow your template for contacting the WikiProjects (except for the Arts, since at least one has not been contacted). It's essentially an idea to use a process similar to WP:FAC to identify and handle articles and lists that would go in a release version. Maurreen 19:49, 8 April 2006 (UTC) Assistance soughtRecently a POV paranoid rant was created at Hispanic supremacism, that I place a NPOV notice on. While the topic of Hispanic racism is a worthy Wikipedia topic, this current article makes no attempt at NPOV, further more I am not sure that the title is the most accurate or appropriate for this topic. Would you be willing to collaborate on an NPOV article on the topic? Please get back to me soon. -JCarriker 00:25, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
WP 1.0I thought since you are interested in this project you might be interested to see a CD version of en now exists see Wikipedia:Wikipedia-CD/Download & 2006 WP CD Selection. This is being discussed on the 1.0 project pages but progress breeds enthusiasm so I thought I would let you know. --BozMo talk 09:14, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
requestcould i request that you add a support tag prefix on your reponse at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)#Highlight_search_box? i wasnt sure whether i could add it as it's implicit? i'm assuming that a show of support tags is both the usual way of doing things, and the only way the proposal will get the go-ahead to be implemented.. (i'm still new at these things ;) thanks :-) --Quiddity 06:52, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Katrina articlesThanks for the note, I hadn't looked at the talk page there in some time. I may leave Hurricane Katrina to y'all for a while; I've been wandering through the shorter side articles, trying to clean them up. Good to see others who have been in on it. By the way, if you get a chance, mind taking a look at Civil disturbances and military action in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and Effect of Hurricane Katrina on Mississippi for a second opinion? Both are cleaner, but still need plenty of work. Tijuana Brass 06:59, 11 April 2006 (UTC) WikiProject ArgentinaHi Tito. We got your message at the WikiProject Argentina talk page regarding messages for the WP Version 1.0. Truth is that we have a lot of Class B articles and very few Class A. Nevertheless, there are almost minimalistic stubs that should still be part of your version, say for instance 4 years-president Miguel Juárez Celman. On the other hand, there are fine (Class A or B) articles that are perhaps not so important to the Wikipedia, such as Cumbia villera. If you give me a better idea of what is it that you want, I'll try to make a list of articles (or list of categories) to include in your release. Mariano(t/c) 08:22, 11 April 2006 (UTC) Wikiproject PeruHello, I also saw your comment on the WP:Peru talk page. Like the user from WP:Argentina, I'm also doubtful about the extent of FA or A-class Peru-related articles. Some of the following articles my interest you however and could possibly be mentioned in what you are planning to do.
Might add more suggestions later.--Jersey Devil 03:54, 12 April 2006 (UTC) Ivan recoveryI wrote this for the Ivan article, what do you think?: Following the storm, federal aid poured into the hardest hit areas. Over $1 billion was spent on relief and recovery alone. Thousands of fallen trees had to be removed. The wreckage was stacked in piles across the devestated areas in Florida and Alabama, some as much as two stories high. Church mission groups, Habitat For Humanity and other non-profit relief organizations lined up to do whatever they could to aid in the rebuilding process. Civil engineers carefully laid out plans for reconstructing the terribly eroded beaches. They pumped sand from the sea bed onto the shore and gradually built the beach back up. The US sent financial aid to the Caribbean nations affected by Ivan's wrath. Nations throughout the region worked to support one another in the recovery efforts. On Grenada, for example, international relief crews and volunteers flew in to assist in the clearing of debris and the distribution of supplies. Even through these many efforts, visible scars from Ivan remained for a couple years after the storm and the mental scars may never go away. -- §HurricaneERIC§Damagesarchive 04:25, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team cooperationHello. I'm a member of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. We recently began assessing articles using these criteria, and we are are asking for your help. As you are most aware of the issues surrounding your focus area, we are wondering if you could provide us with a list of the articles that fall within the scope of your WikiProject, and that are either featured, A-class, B-class, or Good articles, with no POV or copyright problems. Do you have any recommendations? If you do, please post your suggestions at the listing of all active Places WikiProjects, and if you have any questions, ask me in the Work Via WikiProjects talk page or directly in my talk page. Thanks a lot! Titoxd(?!? - help us) 06:56, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Hi... I have been working on automation to create article classification tables from lists of categories. It's not quite ready for prime time but I'm wondering if it would be useful in this endeavour and where best to ask/talk/offer about it. You can see what I've been up to in User:Lar/Sandbox2 That's a somewhat backlevel version of what my code can produce. It also links to an (even more backlevel version) of the code itself. ++Lar: t/c 11:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC) Page move requestWould it be possible for you to move the article Tropical Storm Tammy to Tropical Storm Tammy (2005), per how other storms have been doing it? Java counter...So the toolserver isn't working for enwiki now, so hopefully your java counter will get a little more exposure. People on IRC were complaining about it being java though. :) Meh. I hate to bother you with this, but I happened to scan the John Negroponte article again, and (probably as expected) it has been edited back into a substantially POV rant again (including the "controversial figure" description in the lead paragraph.) Just because a small subset of activists consider him "controversial" does not make it so. I've read your Wikibreak Rant, and I must say that watching the history of this particular article gives me real cause for despair about WP. Keep in mind that I really have no particular position here and don't know Negroponte from Adam, nor do I particularly care...it just burns me to see such obvious, slanted stuff like this included simply because people who DO have an axe to grind have more time on their hands and more dedication to proseltyizing, than do all of the mainstream, objective 'experts' who don't see it as their mission in life to go around charging at windmills and fighting what appears to be a hopeless, uphill battle for fairness and objectivity. I guess it's only the true white knight volunteers like you (until you burn out, which can't be long in coming) on whom the rest of us 'ordinary' people have to rely [big sigh]. I was wondering about the progress of the Admin Coaching program since I haven't received any info, I know I signed up a fortnight ago but it feels muuuuch longer! :P I'm not needing a coach right now, but I'm going through a rough patch at present. And if you can have a minor say, could Celestianpower coach me? Judge sockpuppetsHi Titoxd. I'm a relatively new admin, and I've been blocking the Judge sockpuppets on the spot. I'm wondering if I'm doing the right thing, because the person is still making new ones. Isn't autoblock supposed to take care of that? Maybe they're using AOL...? ~MDD4696 23:45, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Re: ToolThanks for letting me know; keep up your great work! Flcelloguy (A note?) 00:13, 19 April 2006 (UTC) Assigning admin coachesHi, how are you? I saw that you were fairly active at the moment, so I figured I'd drop you a line. Since you're back, did you want to take over the admin coaching coordination again? (I'd be happy to continue helping out, either way.) We should probably assign coaches to a few new users, and the coaches who are available at the moment are Voice of All, Kimchi.sg, and Petros471. I've also sent messages to Academic Challenger and Knowledge Seeker to see if they want to take on another user following their successful coaching of Petros471. Also, if you haven't already, please see the note at the top of this page. Thanks for your time, and let me know if there's anything I can do to help. NewbieJust saying hey, and i was going to ask if you can hlep me with the babel codes, where do you find all the codes, so far all i was able to find was the language ones. Yeah my profile is over here---------->profile UK Climate Change Programme Page on Wiki Out of dateHi, as it says in the title, it's out of date. Here are a few things that need ammending: The Kyoto target relates to the UKs basket of greenhouse gases, but the 20% target relates only to Carbon emissions so the statement: The United Kingdom's Climate Change Programme was launched by the British government in response to its commitment to the Kyoto Protocol on global warming. It aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions not only by the agreed 12.5% from 1990 levels, but by 20% by 2010. needs to be reworded in order to be accurate. Also the article refers to the November 2004 Projections. These were updated in February 2006: http://www.dti.gov.uk/energy/sepn/uep_feb2006.pdf. They say that given existing measures (ie. no proposed future measures) and excluding the effects of the EU Emissions trading scheme, carbon emissions are projected to be about 10.6% below 1990 levels. Also, the climate change programme review was published in March 2006: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/28_03_06climatereviewfull.pdf, which proposed additional measures etc, and as a result projected carbon emissions to be about 15-18% below 1990 levels in 2010. More information about the review of the ccp can be found in that article. Sorry, I didn't know how to go about editing the page myself so I followed the links to this page in order to find someone (more experienced!) to update the page. Hope that's ok. Thanks. I seem to recall you putting together a short example of a assessment table (similar to what we use at WVWP) that included "Importance." Can you tell me where to find that? I wanted to set up the bare bones of a chemistry table for Oleg to test his bot with, and model it on that. Do you think I should use a transcluded table like User:Walkerma/SandboxB, or a non-transcluded one like we use at WVWP? I want to make sure that it's the most efficient format, because I know how on Wikipedia sometimes prototypes can end up being archetypes! I'm making it just chem, because with over 500 entries in the table it'll be large enough! Thanks, Walkerma 02:21, 27 April 2006 (UTC) A start on WP1.0 bot parsingHi Titoxd. In HTML you can do that easily, but in Wikimedia software I can't find how to do that. Do you know if/how this can be done? Thanks, Walkerma 15:37, 29 April 2006 (UTC) Yes, thank you, I did mean something like the little star linking to FA. I'm amazed that this is such a problem, it seems like a big handicap for the software - I know in HTML it's so basic even I (an amateur) was doing links via images in 1995! Maybe it's something to raise at Wikimania in Boston - will you be there? I need to get on writing my proposals for that! I'm planning to give a talk on WP:1.0 and related work, and to hold a discussion on assessment and validation. If you're planning on being there, maybe we should plan a joint proposal?
